Not a full match, but in the 125lb 3rd place match between Provo and Robinson, Robinson did something I've never seen before. Late in the 3rd period (1:43:00 on Mat 2 on Matcast), trying to escape from bottom, Robinson stood up and Provo dropped to single and then elevated Robinson's leg to shoulder height. Robinson then full backflipped off his single standing leg. It almost worked as Provo lost control of his other leg, but he quickly covered to prevent the escape. Ultimately came to nothing, but I rewatched like five times and laughed each time. Probably one of the most athletic moves I've seen this year.

Same mat, same round, at the 1:10 mark: Wasilewski vs Rathjen was excellent

I remember Cary Kolat executing that move back in the early 1990's in the PIAA finals.  And a quick google search brought up some grainy video of it:

Bc this just rarely works and it’s not great to give up your feet in the small chance it will work.

For those who subscribed to ESPN+ for the NCAA tournament like me, I am in the process of scrolling through every mat feed for every session. There is just so much you miss during the tournament. Also, don't forget to cancel your subscription if you only purchased it because of the tournament.

Sweet - The Kolat clip isn't long enough to show what happened right after he flipped out I think he may have got the TD also - can't recall for sure though, been a long time.

I have a vague memory of that as well, like he landed from the flip and immediately shot in. And I could see that working, it would be tough to mentally transition from how can I finish from this great position to defending a shot, especially from someone like Kolat (to be fair it was tough to defend against Kolat even when you knew he was going to shoot on you)

You're correct, Mr. Leg Rider!  I just found the entire match.  Action starts around 6:05.  Kolat flips out, immediately shoots in and gets the TD.  Great chain wrestling!

Was electric, if anyone missed it it's totally worth a rewatch.

The anticipation and excitement waiting for a stall call drove me crazy ... what a match!  :classic_ohmy:

Great find, glad to see my memory hadn't failed me on that one. Kolat was such a monster

How many of you can think of another match that ended with a stalling DQ? I was a part of one in high school but it looked a lot different than that one
