Wow.. He is really good.  I think he would beat Vega and Hardy.  Him Mendez will come down to 1 takedown.

He's not talked about as much because he missed half the season and did not get a chance to wreck good guys.

Big Stanich guy here, I think his composure and stinginess with the takedowns will thwart Echemendia.... However..... 
I think he's not quite offensive enough to keep it close with Mendez, don't think he's going to get ran over, but a 6-7 point match or so. Wouldn't be surprised if he gets 3rd, hard to pick against him against anyone else.  I mean he got the 5 seed, could have just as easily been the 2 had he wrestled the entire season.

U20 World champs are usually pretty good. He went 3-1 against Bo Bassett through the US Open and U20 WTT last year. Got majored by Mendez at an early tourney during his RS season last year, but Stanich has since fully grown into the weight.

He's on the wrong side of the bracket. Unfortunate that he missed the last two duals of the season and did not get an RPI.  @Husker_Du, @Baschamania and Kozak (Flo) all picked him to place 3rd. Unfortunate that the SF bout should have been a final.

I think he will give Mendez all he can handle and more.  If Mendez comes out and wrestles to takedown and cut to try to get bonus it could backfire big time.  Stanich is the real deal.  Mendez is wrestling riccardi tonight.  Stanich has handled him with ease.  Riccardi is tough.  141 is tough.  Dekrakker had Vega on ropes.  But I guess a lot of wrestlers have this year he always finds a way.  Stanich, Vega and Mendez.  Ech will not score against Stanich

Agree. He definitely doesn’t get the hype he deserves. I still think Mendez beats him but that should be the final IMO

Stanich is a contender here. I mentioned it last week and got the cold shoulder on that point of view.

Stanich is tough and stingy. His hand fighting is elite. They should have stalled Tyler Wells out of the match against him.
