  1. Past hour
  2. lol not political. but shoots up people embroiled in a political controversy
  3. 57 KG - I think Lilledahl is an immediate Gold contender, dare I say favorite 61 KG - Jax wrestled out of his mind at Seniors. He is a contender, but he could drop a match that we don't expect. He's funky and gets himself in to poor spots sometimes (folks forget he was down by 9 to Gross before he teched him at US senior nationals). 65 KG - Blaze will be undersized, but I fully expect him to beat Sujeet if they meet. It is a style contrast and I think it's going to take a powerful 65 KG guy that wrestles defensively to beat Blaze. Sujeet isn't that guy. 70 KG - Duke should be considered a Gold contender, possibly the favorite. 74 KG - Messenbrink - see above with Duke/Lilledahl. All three of these guys are Seniors medal contenders. 79 KG - Haines wrestled out of his mind at Senior worlds. If he wrestles that way, he is the favorite for Gold. If he wrestles like he did earlier this season at the ranking series, he is looking at wrestling for Bronze. 86 KG - Welsh and McEnelly are two wrestlers with very similar styles, although McEnelly is more proven as of right now. I think Rahmani should be favored against Welsh. 92 KG - Barr was the only wrestler to match Hidlay's physicality with him since Hidlay committed to going 92 KG late in the spring. I am hoping for a good performance, but wouldn't be surprised to see him wrestling for Bronze after dropping a match on the front side. 97 KG - I don't expect a medal here, however draws are very dependent. 125 KG - Same as 97 KG, I don't expect a lot, but would love being proven wrong. This is probably the best U23 squad that the US has sent, maybe ever, and that is with two 'holes' at 97/125. I only call them holes, because of what the rest of the lineup looks like and fully believe that it is possible for medals from them.
  4. Being able to get to the pylon without giving up position/exposure is a nice wrinkle. I like it.
  5. Curious your reasoning to each of those. I wouldn't have gone, or even thought of, any of those matches.
  6. While weighing under 220lbs. The entire NCAA HWT landscape should worry, after he grows in to the weight.
  7. You're also throwing stones.
  8. I went the Tank. He would have 2-3 more were it not for hypocritical politics controlling how our sport allows (or doesn't allow) people to wrestle.
  9. Was his position so bad that he ended up with only one van in his sights and decided to shoot at anything that moved?
  10. You can't release files if cases are ongoing for a number of reasons. You don't want to compromise the ongoing cases, victims need protected, etc. There are also various legal hurdles, both state and federal- that protect grand jury testimony, for instance. Also, the President doesn't get to unilaterally decide to release files. Any reasonable person would want to expose child sex traffickers, rapists, pedophiles and their associates. There certainly were ongoing cases during the Biden administration. From what I can find, the only ongoing legal matter related to those files is the Maxwell appeal to the Supreme Court. I don't want the DOJ to compromise cases against these a-holes, but I would like all of the affiliated people exposed as soon as the last case related to those files is finished. This is only a political matter because there are sure to be politicians involved on some level. All of them should face the consequences of their actions. ALL OF THEM.
  11. As for Brooks-Hidlay, I'd love to see them Wrestle again... but you just stain your own legacy so badly, it's sad Brooks felt the need to cheat. he was literally a midget. SGH is also cheating, nobody tests for it. Never injured, gas forever, keeps growing. Theres plenty of ncaa heros that cheated with it, so dont throw stones.
  12. WE all the know the answer to that. Well, most of us anyways.
  13. He shot into a van, and may have just been shooting indiscriminately. Looks like another internet troll. https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/the-ice-shooters-motive
  14. Big yawn. We have more important fish to fry right now.
  15. Today
  16. We will see I think there will be a couple surprises as usual with these sorts of things. But I more or less agree with what you have put if those are the guys competing. Probably have Azimi winning 92 over khaniev tbh.
  17. According to an interview they just had he said he will be competing at u23 worlds for some reason. Not too sure why I would rather some other guy go and wrestle.
  18. @CHROMEBIRD The blockchain was really more of an analogy. It started as joke since the UWW uses blockchain for the draws. However, the idea of having a public resource where everyone can find information is something we lack. I mentioned other sports having this, but everyone has this data problem. You can't easily aggregate NCAA D2 basketball results with NBA results. BUT, generally, within the organization they compete (NCAA, NBA, probably some high school leagues) some level of record keeping is there. Wrestling has this; I remember reading about Nick Simmons going for the national pin record. Ben Askren has talked about trying to get the Wisconsin take down record. But, in my opinion there is a gap. It should be easier to find NCAA D1 wrestling results. I don't know what the "real" solution. I have ideas. I see @Jason Bryant here. The guys at wrestlestat do some amazing work. The way UWW is moving with a standardized PDF for their official tournaments is nice. I think there is a huge opportunity for track (flo) to use the tournament management software. They are collecting the data which is probably the biggest hurdle. Given those companies make money off being really good a running tournament systems I don't blame them for not allocating resources to give their data away for free. It's a bit of a gamble.
  19. Where did you get the Japan team from
  20. My picks are below. As for Yousefi, I don't see him beating Haines. Ohers maybe. Rrahmani too, if he can't beat McEnelly, can he beat Welsh and others? HWT I have no idea, it's a weak field, maybe Lotfi has a shot here too 57 kg Luke Lilledahl 61 kg Jax Forrest 65 kg Sujeet 70 kg PJ Duke 74 kg Aoyagi 79 kg Levi Haines (if he's wrestling. If not, Yousefi) 86 kg Rahmani 92 kg Khaniev 97 kg Yoshida 125 kg ???? No idea
  21. 22. *Respected a Scotsman cause of his Scottishness Fixed it for you
  23. Mehdi yousefi won the junior world in August . He's a medal contender definitely . Rahmani is good. The rest idk. About Greco, Farokhisenjani just won the senior worlds i don't think he'll wrestke next month .
  24. Who are the US and Russia sending. I feel like you are underestimating some of the guys. Azimi is a U20 world champ at this weight class and Yousefi is the reigning u23 and u20 champ.
  25. lol no, looking at other teams, I see 0 golds in this team, maybe Rahmani but that's it. Yousefi also a longhsot, if Haines is out, but if Haines is in shape, IDK. Others are no gold threats.
  26. Not a bad list tbh I could see maybe 3-4 golds and 7 medals total from this team. Sina Khalili, Mehdi Yousefi, Abolfazal Rahmani and Mobin Azimi are very good wrestlers. I wonder what our Greco team is going to look like. I think Farokhi will be our 82kg rep apparently.
  27. Thanks . I only know Rahmani and sina khalili among this list.
