Hey 152, Analogy to your conundrum. Someone you do not know, comes into your house and starts living there or takes up residence in your yard without asking you or getting your permission. If you want said person to stay, and fight to have them stay, you have a heart. If you want said person to leave, and go through the legal process or not you are heartless. My guess is that you will find way more heartless folks than those with a heart. There are laws, or should be, regarding squatting in a house or property that does not belong to you. There are laws, or should be (and actually are on the books), regarding entering the country illegally and staying in that country you do not belong to. mspart

They actually are net contributors to the economy, with their willingness to take on low paying jobs that nobody else wants, and also being disproportionately young so that they aren't sucking the govt teet.

Why does it matter where the illegals are found? Leo often use interesting means to trick criminals into getting caught. Whatever is more confident for law enforcement. Illegal is illegal no? tell you what. Ds and Rs are 50/50 ish across the population. Let’s double your taxes where it goes to paying for them and zero out mine. deal?

How can anyone be ok with forceable detainment and deportation of immigrants (yes, they undocumented but I don't care) at school graduations, hospitals, places of employment, churches, or even court hearings. Don't bother answering the rhetorical question. It has already been established that magas are heartless.

Smart kid! Future Mountain Hawk?

It actually is quite common for kindergarten boys to be recommended for pre K. Boys mentally tend to mature a little older than girls.

Americans are geographically illiterate but what else is new?

These people don't care. The fact that no one caught this says a lot about the intellect of those that are in Congress and those that serve them. No critical thinking at all. mspart -

I did a kindergarten RS for my son. He will turn 19 in late April of his SR year in HS. Even with the RS, he is the smallest kid in his class - with a 160+ IQ. He is taking AP Pre-Calc next year as a 7th grader. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

What if she wins Beach Worlds this fall? I'm mostly kidding, but it seems very unlike her to take any time away from freestyle.

I just don't think schools will have the resources or scale to provide the type of guidance athletes will need, beyond the bare fundamentals of contracts, planning, etc. in the new pay-for-play world, esp as investments and comp will invariably become more complex. My guess is that agents will step in and handle that stuff. I guess they already are in the biggest sports.

She should be coming back next year, but at 57kg as was reported a few months ago. I'm sure she's just lifting and gaining strength while training and acclimating to the new weight.

Kids would get ridiculed for being held back once upon a time, but I can see why some parents may opt to do it for athletic reasons or bullying reasons or whatever. Also, you gotta love the offseason here. How'd we get to talking about this?

I'm with Peebs. I like TnT as wrestlers and ambassadors to the sport, and love their commitment to their guys; my critique is with the coaching and culture at Iowa, as I don't believe "emulate Gable" works super well in today's environment. Would love to see whoever the next hc is, whenever that happens, to be an outsider who wasn't molded in and married to the Iowa Style as if it were gospel... or at least Iowa alums who've had enough of a change of scenery (Metcalf, DSJ, Ramos, etc.) to know what works/what doesn't and evolve Iowa Style. All of that being said, people calling for Brands to step down over the BB thing need to get a grip. Imagine having so much juice as a hs recruit that you can get the head coach of a Top 3 program replaced. Foh with that.

Maybe we’re quibbling over the definition of “extremely common.” A 12-year old study put the number of kindergarten redshirts at ~5%, and I’m sure it’s only gone up since then. I’d agree a holdback in middle school or something purely for athletic reasons is not common, but redshirting kindergarten is, and often isn’t even really for the purpose of athletics.

Point is. Those that can do. And those that can’t teach … except for a select few.

I will start counting and circle back!

Good stuff, I was hoping that you still read this forum. Is Fujinami coming back next year? I should've tagged you in this other thread

A small part of my post got deleted earlier so I'll be brief: I have a very strong feeling that many of the boosters, deep down, are more comfortable being a near lock at 2nd-4th (and the rare 5th) than taking a gamble on the new and unknown. I believe I read a post on HR in the past where Bob claimed he would be "done when Tom's done" so whoever the next coach is better generate an elephant's worth of eggcitement in order to keep the cash flowing
