  1. Past hour
  2. for my money, the most important HS tournament of the year.... https://rokfin.com/article/19785/2025-Cadet-World-Team-Trials-Preview--Picks btw - Elijah Brown is out with injury. which sucks.
  3. i'll also add this - when at Stanford, Rob Koll was close to Merrill. with Rob raising money the way he has, i wouldn't be surprised if UNC was in play.
  4. i think there's a very real chance he's better than both. in fact, i'd probably pick him vs. both those guys right now. (we might not have to wait long to see it). i think ASU, Stanford, and Iowa State are all in good position for him right now. But i also think NIL will play a part.
  5. thanks WKN. let me know if you need updated data to run those numbers again.
  6. Wrestlers who meet the following criteria will qualify for the World Team Trials Challenge Tournament: a) 2023 Senior Men’s Freestyle World Team Member b) 2024 Senior Men’s Freestyle National Team Member c) 2024 U23 Men’s Freestyle World Medalist d) 2024 U20 Men’s Freestyle World Medalist e) 2024 U17 Men’s Freestyle World Champion (age eligible) f) November 2024 Armed Forces Men’s Freestyle World Medalist g) November 2024 Bill Farrell International highest placing (top 4) U.S. athlete, who has yet to qualify, will earn a spot in the 2025 World Team Trials Challenge Tournament h) February 2025 UWW Medalists at Ranking Series events #1 & #2 i) March 2025 NCAA I top 3 place finisher j) April 2025 Senior Men’s Freestyle U.S. Open Championships - top 7 place finisher per weight class k) May 2025 Senior Pan American Championships Medalist --------- It makes a lot of sense that he doesn't go to the open. There will be a lot smaller field for the challenge tournament to navigate through and the 2nd best guy won't be there.
  7. He did get due process. I don't think you understand what due process is. Generally, unless there's a specific reason, bar complaints like this are run similarly to any court proceeding. People can testify, produce evidence, etc. Due process doesn't necessarily mean it has to take place in court, and since Eastman isn't charged with committing a crime in California, he is in a half dozen other states though, the California bar is taking steps to discipline him due to his conduct. So yes he has had his day in court and they still recommended to suspend him, which is on hold pending his appeal. If there was no due process involved, they wouldn't wait. Him being charged with several felonies in various states weighs heavily on this because he violated ethical and professional conduct. So even if he manages to escape being convicted or pleading guilty, the bar still believes he acted improperly and will take action to discipline him because of his conduct.
  8. Join the team and just keep an eye out for your people on the team. If you like the sport, it won’t matter. You may encounter some dbags, but you may also meet some of the best friends kf your life. Wrestling 100% changed my life in the best way possible. Wrestling gave me college options I wouldn’t have, and thanks to wrestling I have been able to spend a decade living around the world, I speak new languages(mandarin and cantonese, nerdy enough?), and I have made hundreds of friends and met thousands of awesome people. You never know where it will take you, but it is invariably to a good place. You will meet great friends, just enjoy the friends and ignore the dbags. Also, wrestlers don’t like to admit it, but there are more people like me and knownothing than not. Wrestling is too all consuming and immersive to just shut that switch off.
  9. Today
  10. Seems like the judge was surprised too and didn't appreciate that approach. Now they'll cave on phased roster limits, and it'll pass.
  11. Actually, highschool wrestling seems kind of scary. Highschool gridiron football(it's American Football) players make up the majority of highschool wrestling teams. Most highschool male gridiron football players are also highschool wrestlers. I know that highschool gridiron football teams are always big bullies. It's not a stereotype. It's a fact to the whole USA. Those who play highschool American Football often make up the majority of bullies in the USA and are often the worst of the worst in USA bullying. Highschool gridiron footballers don't just target nerds. They target other "losers" and outcasts such as goths, blind kids, poor kids, etc. They aren't bullies because of nerds. They are bullies because they are bullies. Without nerds, they'll still be bullies and just find other targets. There's a truth to the stereotype and the cliche entertainment media depiction of highschool gridiron football teams always being the bullies to nerds. I just watched a movie called Bomb City. It was based on a real-life conflict between punk rockers and highschool gridiron football players. The conflict was started due to highschool gridiron football players' bigotry towards punk rockers in general. The footballers often bullied the punk rockers. The conflict got so bad that it often lead to physical fights. But it didn't there. What happened is that a punk rocker by the name of Brian Deneke was ran over to death by the highschool gridiron football player Dustin Camp. Dustin Camp ran him over by using his caddy. Here is a link to the movie's trailer: Here below is a link to the movie. It's free to watch. Watch Bomb City on Tubi: https://link.tubi.tv/BWhhI9PBOSb Also, here is a link to the real-life incident regarding the case of Brian Deneke and Dustin Camp: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killing_of_Brian_Deneke _______ I am not a member of the punk rock subculture but the thought of this conflict scares me.
  12. The reality is that we are not sure how to figure out what’s factual or how to feel about this until our favorite frustration crustacean tells us how to feel.
  13. Nah, I see it.
  14. vetted coming in? no way... no need vetted going out? of course...
  15. yeah the obvious superiority makes it a weak comparison as well.
  16. I suppose methods are similar, just you're comparing a Worlds medalist and multi-time NC with a 2x 5th placer that retired due to injuries (and not placing his last two/three years of eligibility).
  17. Basically that he's so good at wrestling that its hard to predict how he's gonna lose, but at a certain level you just know its gonna happen. I'd accept the comparison being rejected its pretty shallow, plus Brock often lost via inexplicably bad decision making, and Valencia often gets beat by hand of god type stuff no one except the dark lord cael could see coming.
  18. color me surprised
  19. Medical certificate? I need a defibrillator and an oxygen tank in my corner.
