Great choice. We are half way there. Perry beat #1 Troy Letters in the 2005 semis before falling to Johnny Hendricks in the final. But he avenged that lose two years later by taking out #1 Hendricks in the 2007 final. His third victory over a #1 seed came the next year when he beat Eric Tannenbaum in the final. Joseph took out the same #1 (Martinez) two years in a row in the final. Sadly he was denied the chance for a third in 2020 when he was the #2 seed. Lets call him an honorary member of the group (after all Marinelli was the #1 seed. I'm not sayin'. I'm just sayin'.)

More ChatGPT: "Carl Sanderson Head Coach, Penn State Wrestling & Nittany Lion Wrestling Club June 30, 2025 The past few weeks have been difficult for our program, and we recognize that. There have been serious situations involving a few of our athletes and coaches, and many of these matters are still in the process of being addressed. We have a deep respect for the legal and administrative procedures in place, and we are committed to allowing those processes to unfold as they should. First and foremost, I want to express my gratitude to everyone—our athletes, coaches, staff, and the Penn State community. It’s easy to lose sight of the bigger picture during challenging times, but I am constantly reminded of the incredible people we have within this program. Our wrestling family is made up of individuals who care deeply about the sport and each other, and we will continue to support and hold one another accountable. I also want to emphasize how much we value the opportunity to coach and teach young people. Wrestling is a sport that can shape lives. It challenges us physically and mentally, but it also has the power to bring out the best in us when we approach it with respect, discipline, and a sense of fun. This is what we aim for every day. The work of building a strong culture—one that reflects these values—continues. We are grateful for the trust placed in us by our athletes and their families, and we are fully committed to moving forward in a way that honors that trust. — Carl Sanderson"

Anything new from today’s podcasts? Or just an endless rehash with lots of repetition, complaints about lack of concrete info, and parroting of excuses? -

I would follow that line. He did exactly what @Interviewed_at_Weehawken did and then changed a few small details to cover his tracks. Maybe he’s bad at cheating lol. It’s not like he had to do anything hard in college to get his degree. I can’t imagine they’re writing term papers for that major. -
Not dunking on him at all. I was dunking on your self righteous remark stereotyping Iranians as cheaters. Personally I don’t care one way or another about Aaron Brooks.

Agree with flyingcement and Hammerlock3 on WKN's status as best poster ever. Thought provoking and entertaining is a great combination.

It's probably spelled correctly, but we've all been saying it incorrectly the entire time. It's actually pronounced like "Kyle." Then we get a whole Garry, Jerry, Barry, Larry, Terry storyline... :

Brooks story: True or False?
Interviewed_at_Weehawken replied to Interviewed_at_Weehawken's topic in International Wrestling
I explained the situation to Chat GPT and asked it to formulate an excuse for a press release (I didn't mention Brooks by name, but said he was religious): To my supporters, teammates, and the sporting community, It is with a heavy heart that I share the news that a recent USADA test found a banned substance in my system. I want to be completely transparent about the circumstances that led to this. Earlier this year, I underwent a minor orthopedic procedure and was hospitalized with pneumonia. During my recovery, I turned to various over-the-counter supplements to support my healing process — all of which I purchased legally and in good faith from a local grocery store. Unfortunately, one of those supplements contained a substance prohibited by Olympic standards, though it is legally sold and available to the general public. I take full responsibility for what has happened. I did not check thoroughly enough with my medical and nutrition team, and for that, I am deeply sorry. I would never knowingly or intentionally compromise the integrity of sport or disrespect the values I hold dear. As a devout Christian, I turn to scripture during this difficult moment: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.” — James 1:2-3 This is a test I did not expect, but I accept it with humility and faith. I will cooperate fully with USADA and any governing bodies to resolve this matter justly. To the young athletes who look up to me: let this be a reminder to remain vigilant. Always read every label, and seek wisdom in every choice, even the ones that seem minor. I am committed to clearing my name through the proper channels and, more importantly, continuing to live and compete with integrity, passion, and purpose. Thank you for your prayers and continued support. -

When will the wrestling community admit there's a problem?
Sublime607 replied to Tripnsweep's topic in College Wrestling
On a world scale wrestling seems to have low recreational and performance enhancing drug scandals in the United States. I think we as Americans just stay ahead of what can be tested for better than other countries until a substance becomes banned its technically not illegal it guess
