  1. Past hour
  2. The real question is what ages you faster: Hookers or blow?
  3. Wrestlers in Cuba are finding other ways they can make a living. They can defect and go into MMA or do other things. The government there is very restrictive and even guys like Bonne got paid very little compared to people here. Compared to other Cubans it was a good living, but the government basically had you under their thumb.
  4. How? He could/should have been hit with a C+1 when he scooted out of bounds when Snyder had him in the "rear standing" position. And Snyder's foot was never completely out of bounds at the end there. They showed that pretty clearly during the broadcast.
  5. I had no expectations going in. So everything is a pleasant surprise.
  6. I have just one opinion and that is on just a few departments in the federal government. Justice dept employees should not be saying who is a liar, racist, etc. If they do, they are showing their partiality and should not be employed in the justice giving arm of the government. State Dept employees should not be saying who is a liar, racist, etc. If they do, they betray first principles of the establishment of the country. They should offer no opinion on anyone since their purview is international. And criticizing international actors is not the province of employees. In my opinion, criticizing Charlie Kirk undermines their ability to do their job as they are viewed as biased one way or the other. I would say the same thing regarding AOC, Maddow, or other leftists. They should not comment at all on anyone. I don't really have an opinion about other departments but consider these thoughts probably apply to them as well. But I am definite on these. mspart
  7. Let’s hope that does not happen to Amouzad then. Will be a loss to wrestling I would have thought
  8. For 74 kg emami currently the best for Iran but 74 is the deepest weight.
  9. Rahman amouzad is still young. He can make the weight easy . 2 time world champ and Olympic silver in 4 years. He should stay at 65 kg
  10. Probably the last one to match him is Ramanov, who went gold 2014 - bronze 2015 - gold 2016 and then got injured and disappeared.
  11. My pleasure. Here is an example from you. It starts out well. Immediate and specific. Acknowledges an error. Then it falls off the rails into hostility. Here is an example for me. It is your turn.
  12. This is his twin losing to Yazdani. Of course, his twin is a far inferior wrestler. They seem to be about the same height.
  13. So in years past we did not have 65 but Movahed won 1 Olympic gold and 5 world gold in 68 and 70
  14. Amouzad just won 65kg final comfortably. He won silver at 65 at the Olympic and another gold 2 years previously. They say 65 is one of the toughest in terms of parity. I would say if you win 2 gold in 4 year and an Olympic silver so medalling 3 out of 4 years then you are doing something right. I wonder who has done some something to match him- Otoguro? Kiyooka? Mamedov? I think with that track record he would want to stay at the weight as long as he can
  15. 3 golds is a tremendous accomplishment. You want to think more medals but you have to be realistic. It’s like a balance. 3 did better than hoped 3 did worse. Some didn’t catch fire but most did about as good as could be expected.
  16. even removing the barely old enough to vote ages of Jax n PJ, this was a relatively young squad, which is great for USAW.
  17. Nah. All the libs in here love me.
  18. Good question. I would love to know. I wish UWWDOC would join us again. regardless, I would expect Rahman to demolish him.
  19. And Lee had him on his back for a split second at the end to come oh so close to the big come from behind win.
  20. What happened to these traditional freestyle wrestling powers? As recently as 2023, Turkey/Türkiye was definitively a top-10 nation in men's freestyle, and now in 2025 they have one wrestler in 10th place (Soner Demirtaş) and nobody else earning team points. Cuba's program seems to have started falling off a few years earlier (I think after a few perennial top guys like Yowlys Bonne and Reineris Salas retired), and similar to Turkey they've now got only one wrestler earning team points (Arturo Silot, 10th place). For Turkey, at least, I don't think it's as simple as losing Akgül. The last World Championship where Turkey didn't have at least two medalists was 2011. The last World Championship where they weren't top 10 was 2010. What's the deal? Did these countries lose their top coaches? Did they decide to just go all-in on Greco-Roman?
  21. Yes, this was a great tourny. mspart
  22. How does he look standing next to Lil Yaz?
  23. excellent point. I know Davis wrestled in the Dapper Dan classic, so I assumed he was highly ranked nationally. Took a quick look on the Iowa Wrestling HOF site: Barry: 3 X champ, 102-6-1. Jim Z: 2 x champ, 99-12. Lenny Z: 1 x champ, 74-4 so....very solid and it was a different era when 4 timers were much less common and so on, but these 3 as a group were probably not being hailed as the greatest recruiting class ever or anything. crazy to think that Jim won 2 state titles and then 3 NCAAs and his college record was 131-7 as opposed 99-12 in HS.
  24. Thanks. Sounds like no excuse except he got beat. It does happen, but seems weird for Spencer Freekin Lee. Maybe he can lose the Freekin middle name now. mspart
  25. What a flipping awesome world tournament. For us and just overall for the sport.
