Isn’t your language English? I did say maybe there’s something in the media about it that you heard - but even if there is, it’s so rare that I’ve literally never seen or heard of a single case myself. In Iran, the number of male and female students is about the same. In humanities fields, there are way more girls than boys, and girls usually study all the way through higher degrees. Even in remote towns, there are universities. How do you expect these girls to agree to that kind of marriage? In my undergrad class, we had 42 girls and only 4 guys. In grad school, the number of girls was almost double the boys. And you’re saying these girls get traded for goats? Seriously? And honestly, if arranged marriages like that exist in Iran, they’re probably less common than cannibalism in the U.S. - because every week the Islamic Republic’s media publishes stories about Americans eating people, so I guess I’m allowed to assume every American is a cannibal, right?

Are you an Iranian, or do you just live in Iran?

And likewise, I very much enjoy comparing and contrasting my subjective analysis with your data based analysis. Speaking of which, where is the data for the top scoring 157 pound bracket of this quarter century? I've been waiting all day!

Hokit did NOT like Bo Nickal offering to help him up at NCAAs - not at all

It all comes back to swimming. As I pounded out the miles everyday I started distracting myself by doing math in my head. Especially fractions and percentages. I always wanted to know what was done and what was left. Sometimes I would do conversions. I would change from yards to feet to inches or convert from meters to yards. Now I like making pictures that explain numbers. I just had an "ah ha" moment about a question a client wanted me to work on, cranked out a compelling (I think) visualization for them, and now I can't wait to share it tomorrow.
-
So you’re saying there are zero arranged marriages happening in your great country?
-
My method is just one way to look at it. It is not a definitive measure. I like how detailed your analysis is.
-
One thing I do know for sure. I’m so fu#$ing glad I wasn’t born in that part of the world. Freedom is a beautiful thing.
-
When you live in a country run by authoritarians I understand that things like free speech and sarcasm aren’t allowed. Too bad for you.
-
So, like, when you have zero clue about this part of the world - and can’t even tell Iran, Saudi Arabia, Nigeria, and Afghanistan apart - do you really feel the need to open your mouth? The stuff you’re saying about how people get married in Iran is so stupid that any Iranian who hears it would just be like… jaw on the floor. I don’t know, maybe there’s some media thing out there - but if there is, it’s so rare it made the news, because I’ve never seen a single case myself. Even in the countryside, nobody does marriage that way, let alone in the cities. Sure, if someone offered me a girl in exchange for a goat, I might go buy one - but unfortunately, the last goat I saw was at the zoo thirty years ago. That’s because we shipped all our goats to the U.S. to teach history, geography, and political science in schools over there, and, well… seems like they’re doing a fantastic job.

Sounds like this Tony Hook guy should have been seeded. He took out the #2 and #7 seed.

Appreciate the knowledge; genuinely!

Aren’t you the guy ripping on America while living in a country with arranged marriages and a corrupt regime? The one that tries to make something good out of the statement “death to America”? The brilliant computer guy that won’t leave the country that still makes him use dial up services and will cut the internet off at any moment? I am wise. And I am free. Please sit down and STFU until you do something other than talk
-
I guess I am mostly blown away by the frontside of the bracket. For 7 of the top 8 seeds to be upset before the semis is crazy. The highest seed in the semis being the #5 is crazy. And for neither finalist to have beaten someone seeded above them is absolutely unbelievable. Statistically, I guess it is not the most busted. Thanks for contributing numbers to the topic as always!

Aren’t you the same guy who thought “the Middle East” was a country? The one who said Iranians wipe their asses with rocks and sticks? The genius who thinks the men here trade two goats for a wife? And now you’re trying to act all wise and lecture me? Please. Sit down, you clueless moron.

I remember responding once to a long post about what death to America means to those saying it and how it’s different for those who hear it. I found that those saying it don’t care how the people hearing it feel. They don’t want to understand that using the term negates what they believe they intended it to mean. When you question them they run straight to the “you have a full belly and will never understand” card. They also don’t understand that just because you’re rural or maybe a wrestler that you may be educated but just have different viewpoints than they do. Especially different beliefs than the countries they live in, complain about yet do nothing about. They tend to talk while sitting on their hands letting it continue even though they have no freedom to speak of. And they certainly don’t understand that even the worst extremists in America are nothing compared to extremists in the rest of the world. And that in America we’re allowed to be extreme based on our beliefs unlike other places around the world. It’s called free speech, something treasured more than anything else in the world. And here’s something I figured out: They will never do anything about it. They will continue allowing things like arranged marriages, electing puppet Presidents and bowing down to a crooked and corrupt regime.

Studies have shown that there is really no difference between conservatives and libtardos when it comes to being angry or mad. Ie……. One really doesn’t get more angry than the other. However those same studies show that libtardos are more likely to express their anger. -

If fans don’t want to watch a certain type of nonsense. And fans drive your revenue and viewership. I guess you don’t understand boss. You can ideal your way all day but capitalism doesn’t work that way. They may watch less. As I understand nfl ratings are down since ish that kneeling qb who wasn’t really a great qb. But whatever. -
Darn WKN.... did you major and minor in statistic.....maybe a double major, statistics and swimming perhaps???? Asking for some friends.

Omar Ayoub is going to have a battle to start but I think he could be great. Wrestled Larkin tough at Pan ams and I think is probably a better folk guy. Beat Diversent last year 7-4 and Diversent beat Noto,Burwick,Grice.

Who gives a sh1t except for conservatives always looking for something to be mad about though? People don’t watch the NFL for the cheerleaders -
I remember writing a long post once explaining that “Death to America” means “Death to the policies of U.S. governments, especially their support for Zionism,” not the people or the country. But over time, I realized those explanations make the people who don’t wanna understand even more arrogant and obnoxious. I’ve been in plenty of American forums and groups, but I’ve never seen people as ignorant as some of the members here. Not talking about everyone, of course - there are a few here I genuinely respect. But honestly, this is kind of what you’d expect from the wrestling community. In Iran, wrestlers often come from rural, less-educated backgrounds, and it seems like in the U.S., the wrestling crowd’s from an even lower rung. And here’s something I’ve figured out: you guys create extremism yourselves. Maybe some of those extremists who blow things up now once tried to explain their side to you, but eventually realized you don’t get reason - you only respond to force.
