Here we go again, fighting to lump some crazy person into this group or that group to somehow make us feel all warm and fuzzy...how about the guy is clearly a whackjob...hard stop!
-
I think this is covered in the NEW New Testament. I believe it's in Sanderson 12:10-3,4. Though shall not forsake FUN for FUN is the life breath of wrestling. Do not follow your path of greatness to the twin devils, work with your brothers at home. I don't know, some sh*t like that.

You can win 5 national championships by being a hyper religious narcissist at Penn State!
-
The reason I am predicting him to Okie State is because PSU has such a log jam at most weights but I didn't think about him going 149lbs after Van Ness leaves. That could certainly open up a possibility. Also - I did not know that Melvin Miller was his brother. A matter of fact this past week is the first I am really even hearing any hype about Melvin Miller. Are they blood related?

I believe the upcoming new head of Iranian wrestling federation( apparently due to be in post mid August) Rasoul Khadem intends to send a strong team to the world championship in September. I have it from good authority that Hassan Cherati won’t make it for 86 kg ( too concerned about losing to Z. Valencia being a prodigy of D. Taylor apparently)but instead is looking to go down to 79kg.

And not Terry for once? Wowzers.

These evangelical "patriots" are the biggest threat to our great nation.

The reasons he stated he committed are where I disagree, this is all speculation but I think most of that was probably just natural stuff you say when you pick a place: 1. Fan growing up: He was a PSU fan 2. Passionate fanbase: True; but maybe a little more than he bargained for when he saw it up close 3. Tom & Terry: Don't think anybody is truly picking TnT over the staff at PSU/Ok State and even others at this point 4. Jesus Trained: You can be a Jesus trained guy at Iowa but there are other places that do a lot more of that stuff 5. Spencer Lee: I think this was the actual reason, and picking a school to train with a guy who's going to be a few weight classes below you, and doing a lot of traveling doesn't seem like a it should win when you really think about it. 2/5 were objectively true here. Couple this with a potential issue (I don't think the money disappeared for him, but maybe the people putting the money up weren't so friendly behind closed doors, or were a bit aggressive with Melvin?). All speculation, and hopefully we do get more info.

Minnow blaming it on Tom Brands

Yea, I meant to say that Iran won't wrestle because their country is bombed, they can't get out of the country, they consider that wrestling is not something that's important now, etc. Altough Palestine participates in sports tournaments even though their country is half destroyed and torn apart. Iran doesn't wrestle Israel because they don't recognize it and don't want to legitimize it via competing. (neither does most of the Arab world, but they still wrestle Israel). Iran recognizes US and they will wrestle -- whenever Iran is back in competition. Russia wrestles Ukraine (and Ukraine wrestles Russia). They don't shake hands though - that could also be modus vivendi for Iran-US matches.

I would bet Oklahoma State to join Jax. Iowa continues to struggle to keep pace.

Well as far as #1, what changed since he committed? A booster made some comments? That should be pretty far down the list of things he should care about IMO, especially since it’s not like the comments were racially-charged or something (which, btw a sponsor of tons of PSU/NLWC guys has been - https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6749780-racially-divisive-post-leads-to-scraplife-shake-up) The reasons he said he committed to Iowa in the first place are all still there: tradition and the fact that he was a fan growing up, passionate fanbase (heck Bob’s comments probably even show that), Tom & Terry, plenty of Jesus-trained guys there too, and gets to train with Spencer Lee. Maybe teams were trashing Iowa/HWC because of Woods’s success after leaving and that HWC is nothing but Spencer? Even still, Spencer was our best guy at the Olympics… I’m speculating, but my guess is something with the money changed. Either something happened with his Iowa offer, or another school upped their offer. Based on Melvin’s comments, I’d lean towards it being something happened with the Iowa offer. If that’s true (and again, just speculating), that would make the “God told me…” comment a little silly. But hopefully we find out some more details to know for sure. I’m not really expecting to though.

@Hammerlock3 really is harmless. You'll get used to him. Forums are to be sensationalized on.

Not sure but there are medical benefits I may not be able to get either, my entire family including wife are here and it may not be easy to get into a nice socialist country if I'm in my 50s. My family makes it a,deal breaker either way. Wife has family here too.

The only thing that matters is that this is a tremendous blow to the Hawkeye program as it tries to to keep pace with PSU and OK ST. Top recruit to build around and it created excitement for their fanbase. How this shakes out for the program will be interesting to watch. It's a huge loss.

Nothing matters. Got it.

It'd be something if he ended up at UPJ. I mean honestly why shouldn't he go there? Here's my case for it. He would be a hometown legend. The guy who could have gone anywhere stayed home and made UPJ relevant. He could name his own schedule and even if he did more freestyle he would still win D2 pretty easily. He could still wrestle the big name D1 guys at tournaments.

Penn State, Ohio State - sex abuse problems
The Kid replied to AgaveMaria's topic in College Wrestling
Trust me, I have kids. Is there a difference between a 12 year old and a 17 year old? -
They will wrestle the USA if they go to worlds. But I also doubt they will make it to the tournament.

We have a local "pastor", who runs a church that has made the following claims or done/said these things: Prayed Obama would die of cancer. The Holocaust never happened. The Orlando nightclub shooting happened because God hates gay people. Calls people he doesn't like or agree with an "enemy of the gospel". Been banned from entering around 30 countries. Claims a tax exemption for the Church but also runs his own business out of the same space. Said that gays should be out to death. Claimed the terrorist attack at an Eagles of Death Metal concert happened because death metal is the music of Satan or evil. It just kind of keeps going. But Pastor Anderson and a good number of his congregants are armed. Even while giving his weekly rants he is armed.

You're "always strapped?" Cool G. You're a gangsta! You always stay strapped in Church! And let everyone know! Not really. They've highly publicized when they happen and they even more rarely white churches(back to the biggest threat to domestic terrorism).

We have thought about it a while and basically if we do then it's not just about who is president, though that does factor in, but going somewhere that isn't going to be as stressful. We found a great place though. Very politically stable, haven't been involved in a war or had a terrorist attack in many years. Language, we can get by. So it's just a lot of different things. But I want to spend time there next year before we look at it seriously.

Do you think you don't get Social Security if you leave the US?
