  1. Past hour
  2. I'd agree with your friend. I don't think he ever had 1000 yards. I know he had a year with like 33 HRs, but a low BA. He was on the verge. Could have easily popped off a few 1500-2000 yard seasons and it wouldn't have surprised me or he could have hit 50 HRs, but he got hurt before he could have. Deion ended up being the MUCH better two sport star.
  3. And... what is it now? The State that supports the Red States the most? The State where most innovation is done? If... in some wild scenario, California became it's own State, the US would need it more than it would need the US(assuming you don't just go in and take what you need by force).
  4. Again... really not the point, but you tell me. Look at a trade made by Paul Pelosi(we'll assume it all came from Nancy) and tell me what information wasn't readily available to the public? I invested in a stock that went from .77 cents to 22 dollars(I only had a couple thousand shares and sold early, but still). A LOT of people invested in PLTR at 6-7 and then a WHOLE lot at 20 and that's up ~800% this year. Just big returns isn't evidence of guilt. But, again, just have it all done in a blind trust by a Fiduciary. It's pretty simple. My good friend manages well over 1B for one of the largest investment firms in the world. He told me to buy Nvidia in 2015(I didn't... but I did buy it by 2020). He told me to buy AVGO two years ago. I did. So if you want to play this game where you pin the this all on one person, give me something more than...720%.
  5. I don't really want to get into a whole big thing here, but... she's been invested in NVDA for a long time. Anyone who manages their own portfolio knows that's... not that shocking given her main holdings(and of course it's her Husband who manages their finances). I mean, just NVDA is up 3300% or so from 2020. But...whatever. Have them all put it in a blind trust. Everyone is invested in Nvidia, SPY is mostly like...7 companies that make up 1/3rd of it's value. It's the trades where Biden announces a subsidy for EVs or Trump announces he's rolling back the export controls to the Middle East and China(which he did for semiconductors) and you see people from those parties buying large blocks of call options that pay out 400-500% that are the most egregious. But again, whatever, call it the Pelosi act. I don't care who gets crap for it. We do some really stupid things as a Country. I've got most my money in Nvidia and I was shocked Trump rolled back the sanctions on China which has resulted in a...IDK, 15-20% pump for AMD, NVDA, SMCI. So big fan personally... but not sure it's best for the Country.
  6. Very cool! Since it seems like you have the data handy, would it be too big of an ask to see if you could filter and partition the data out into time periods? The world record was at a 1:58 from 1994 until Phelps brought it down to 1:55.9 in 2003. I'm wondering how Leon's big jump compares to Phelps'. My memory is a little hazy from that time but it feels like worlds and Olympics were routinely being won with a 1:58-1:59 and then Phelps came in with a 1:55 and, eventually, a 1:54. And even after Phelps and Lochte retired it wasn't until very recently that it took more than a 156 to win... Now we have a 152. Crazy crazy crazy
  7. Today
  8. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/45864313/ravens-employ-olympian-michael-phelps-teach-swim I will make the same offer to wrestlers
  9. I'm thinking Duke and McEnelly will be the '74 and '86 in '28. McEnelly could eventually go up to '97... but he was the most impressive Freshmen this year. Starocci...everything else aside, he was one of the all-time greats as much because of his defense as anything else. So for McEnelly to push him and Keckiesen and then take 3rd, I thought that was impressive. You'd be looking at a guy likely on the grind for 4 if not for the Covid year. And '74, instead of looking at who can make the cut, I think Duke will grow into that weight. Mesenbrink could obviously be the guy as well. Not sure his style plays quite as well in Freestyle(though, he'll likely prove me wrong).
  10. Is that ^^^ a picture of a shark going after a lone swimmer? Impressive performance and graph showing how dominate. Think if Jim Ryan's world record mile were graphed it would look similar.
  11. Mark my words if the pay is right and he can find an avenue which will short run any testing cycle he will be back for one last run.
  12. Republicans who insider trade should go to prison too. Did pelosi in your opinion do anything worse than Martha Stewart? I’ve been saying things like term limits and stop insider trading forever. I’m not on team whatever you think here.
  13. Republicans voted against stopping more people from doing similarly in the future
  14. i am surprised anyone is surprised at this consequence. It was blindingly obvious that raising the cost of giving up a counter take down would lower the risky activity of taking shots and also over-rewarding the first take down would lead to 3rd period stallfests. Don't people who know wrestling, wrestlers, and the mind-set of those at the top of the sport make the rules and also comment on these pages?
  15. They sent Martha Stewart to prison for selling early to avoid a $45,000 loss. Do you think pelosi has done worse from a insider trading perspective?
  16. It happens every time. What’s that definition of insanity, again? And the increase didn’t apply to all restaurants, just above a certain size, and some of them got waivers.
  17. That sucks. Californians deserve her.
  18. He’s also being misleading about the people that voted against it. Unfortunately most of his followers are too dumb to realize.
  19. They’re trying to organize the raid on his house, but they can’t get anyone to accept the task of going through Mike’s drawers.
  20. I think speed walking is ridiculous. No defense from me there. But it doesn't get one iota the attention that swimmers do. Well hurdles are a different skill set. It's not a suboptimal way of racing like the swimming styles are. It's adding jumping obstacles. Which I'd argue isn't that contrived (ever run and have tree branches, puddles, or rocks in the way). It also looks like specialists are the ones winning hurdles. So it's not like swimming, where it's another medal for Phelps and friends to pick up. High jump isn't a race, ditto long jump. It just gets grouped with track because it occurs outside and is individual. How far or high a person can jump is so universal and true to the appreciation of human athletic excellence that it absolutely belongs in the games. The ancients had myths of their amazing heroes that could out jump farther and higher than all their peers. Pole vault is almost a gymnastics event. It's niche and definitely specialized, has been around forever. It gets grouped with track and field, but it isn't that closely related to the races. I think steeple is outdated. It's apparent origins are in fox hunting? But again like speed walking, they don't get the attention that swimmers do. Swimmers collect medals like baseball cards. It's clear that the styles and distances either aren't unique enough to require enough specialization (in which case just make it all freestyle) or the swimming talent pool is too low to properly delineate the stroke styles among competitors. It's always some swimmers with boatloads of medals, this doesn't happen in track or other sports.
  21. He’s wrong about it still being called the PELOSI act, yes.
  22. not always as simple as you think.
  23. He’s stepped back from the 99.9% not going to happen.
