Speaking of Elijah, I wonder if he will ultimately have a better freestyle career than either of his brothers. He's a late bloomer compared to his siblings, and probably won't peak for several or more years from now. I also wonder what kind of durability he will have in terms of injuries, which has been a problem for both older brothers.

I hope Greg becomes an AA this season. His collegiate career never really got off the ground, which is unfortunate for a 5 x state champion. Getting stuck behind Vito at 125 that one year didn’t help matters, as it probably cost him a year of collegiate experience that could have helped him in subsequent years. And then there were injuries, IIRC.

Your average head coach would probably have a tough time keeping his job after such an incident; a junior assistant coach probably has no shot at all.

Not sure. I took the comment first, get the facts later approach.

You’ve actually made the point that represents how a lot of people feel these days. At worst, simple weed possession should be treated like a standard speeding ticket. You pay a fine. It shouldn’t get you arrested, thrown in jail, and ruin employment options for you in the future.
-
I know. Hard to believe people are still getting busted for weed possession these days.

Synder applied for a work visa there, if that carries any weight.

Do you guys plan on doing any sightseeing and/or turning this trip into a vacation? Croatia has really taken off in recent years as a tourist destination. It's trendy, and where all the cool kids are going these days. I plan on vacationing there in the next year or two, if it all works out.

Vito delaying Final X match against Jax

I suspected Vito's gas tank may be an issue, but I didn't expect it to manifest itself this early. Vito's in trouble. -

Vito delaying Final X match against Jax

I hope Vito's gas tank is top-notch for this series. If a third bout is necessary, I could see Jax stealing it late if Vito is fatigued. -
This is great news. But I also wonder, is this turnaround typical? I was under the impression that folks can easily be on these wait lists for months or years.

Brooks story: True or False?

Oh, I don’t believe it was an honest mistake. Just that I saw their excuse already being formed. -
Brooks story: True or False?

It's interesting that fish oil is mentioned. One of the key components of fish oil is DHA (please note the similarity to 'DHEA'), short for 'docosahexaenoic acid', which is an omega-3 fatty acid with reported health benefits. Many of these fish oil supplements have 'DHA' printed right on the front of the label (along with 'EPA', which is the other major health component in fish oil). Trying to read between the lines, I immediately took the fish oil reference to mean that Brooks mistook DHEA for DHA. No idea if that's what his did was really implying, but it was my first thought. -
Carter Starocci faces allegations of sexual assault and theft

It's especially ironic that some of the loudest athlete-preachers in the sport (Brooks, Starocci, Snyder) all appear to be morally bankrupt. -
Carter Starocci faces allegations of sexual assault and theft

Many a scumbag physician have used similar logic to cover for sexual assault. Physical contact happens in the course of business, they say. Fortunately, especially when a pattern can be established, this doesn't fly. Here's what AI has to say about said physicians: An investigation by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 2016 identified over 2,400 doctors across the US who had been disciplined for sexual assault allegations involving patients. The same investigation noted that over 3,100 doctors were sanctioned after being accused of sexual misconduct. A 2016 analysis of the US National Practitioner Data Bank (NPDB) indicated that 862 physicians had state licensing disciplinary actions taken against them for sexual misconduct between 2003 and 2013. A more recent analysis of NPDB data from 2000 to 2019 identified 1,721 reports of physician sexual misconduct. -
Up to a point, I would think. And a lot depends on context. I'm sure other wrestlers could tell the difference between 'it happens' vs. being groped/assaulted. I'm sure all of us could.

This kid is annoying. And of all the young guns making noise these days (Jax, Blaze, Duke, etc.), I'm predicting Bassett is the most likely to underachieve, relatively speaking. He's Daton Fix 2.0, at best.

Until the Yianni-PJ rubber match, I never considered that the ordering of matches for an event is potentially significant. If you are part of the first couple of bouts, you can get substantially more time to rest if a third match is required. Seems like Yianni could have used a little more time to both rest and to strategize.

Yianni manhandled Duke in the first match. Man vs.Boy. Yianni came out strong in the second match, building a sizable lead (9-2, IIRC). Then about halfway through the match, Duke exploded. Yianni suddenly looked tired and beaten. I don’t think he ever really recovered from that the rest of the night. Third match was even-ish, slightly in favor of Yianni, when Duke pinned Yianni. Yianni wrestled cautiously in the third match, almost too much so.

Similar situation with my dad. He went into the hospital for shoulder surgery, and never came home. He contracted a C. Diff infection during his hospital stay and died about a month after the operation.

Hospitals are filthy. It's where sick people congregate. And lots of bodily secretions of various forms are shed there, and then make their way onto the floors and equipment, and eventually other people.

Your ‘main event’ for final X
WrestleFan12 replied to Dark Energy's topic in International Wrestling
I don't care at all about 92, 97, and 125. Really looking forward to 86, 61, and 70, in that order (where 86 is the main event of the whole card, IMO). -
Alright, I'll give you that.

How did Trump contribute to this night of great wrestling?
