It was around the time Bader left. 2013-2014ish. FloWrestling said they were running a new contest to hire someone to the position Asst Editor, as a replacement. Close to a hundred or so put their videos up and were listed on the contest page. It ran a certain number of months, and whoever had the most support at the end of it all would win. Contest finishes. No updates. Radio Silence. Hire someone from a video that got the most likes? Crazy. I fault them for saying one thing, advertising one thing, promising one thing,, and doing another. I fault them for ghosting the winner. I fault them for lying. Christian is a bro's bro. A friend of a friend from someone who was already there.

That is absolutely the dream. We live a block from an 18 hole course at our local park but its a heavily trafficked road so we cant just walk there. It isnt like being able to walk out your back door and throw... I remember the videos of McBeth, Uli and Ben all playing at his course at his house. You're living the dream my man..

Hey Brucey, I'm happy this thread got bumped because if not i may never have gotten to see it! I also avidly enjoy the sport of dg. My oldest is 13 and is kind of a prodigy (pun). Money has been tight the last few years but we're finally in a position where we're about to hire a private coach for him during the season! We follow all the tourneys and coverage all season long and I'm taking five days off so we can watch every minute of Worlds this year. I love talking wrestling and i love talking disc golf. And since they just built the $1.3 million facility, they must declare a non-cash asset impairment. No, but Terry's arrival changed the trajectory of the program. Bono walked into a program with two All-Americans and one who would aa that year. To then leave two years later and never have a single all-American since.... I honestly don't know what would save the program...or entire conference for that matter...outside of maybe app state.

One story I was told, by a Mocs wrestling alum, was on more than one occasion he would give athletes money to stay home and NOT compete. Sometimes hundreds of dollars. When they partied, he partied with them.

Wrong. This has been happening for many many many years. It was happening semi-regularly when I was in middle and high school multiple decades ago.

I think Bono is the damage from Terry leaving for Colorado Springs. It was his first head coaching gig and was still competing while there. Bono's first year in chattanooga they went 16-8. Beat a loaded #18 Wisconsin team 19-18 and had one AA. Next season the Mocs went 16-1 and had a win over #14 Ohio State 28-13 with Keller repeating as AA. The next season the UTC Mocs went 12-10 in dual meets. 7 of those 10 wins were against non division 1 opponents. The other 5 wins were SoCon duals. They lost every single dual to non socon division 1 opponents and we had our last AA with Cody Cleveland finishing 8th at 141. Then Bono was gone.. Enter Heath Eslinger and the ultimate demise of Chattanooga wrestling. The second winningest wrestler in Chattanooga history behind former AA Michael Keefe. Like Coach Eslinger, Chattanooga would go on to dominate the SoCon but never have an All American again, and never really able to compete with the rest of the Division 1 teams outside of the south. Meteocrity. Chattanooga is where wrestling goes to die. Terry started it, Bono poisoned it, Eslinger finished it off. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
