Where else would Terry Brands apply to coach at? Is he gonna throw his hat in the ring for the next Big 10 head coach opening? He was def not on my radar for potential head coach jobs.

wow, I had no idea they ever got a trophy. We know the list of schools to win the tournament is super limited , but a graphic of all the teams to get a trophy over the last 50 years would be very interesting to me.

You're right. With swiderski moving up, it takes one out, but he nay only be going up because of the circumstances. Kinda dumb to have a logjam on a team that has yet to find the success they strive for. I like Dresser. There's a feeling that good stuff is happening there and moving in the right direction, it just doesn't show with tournament team points.

In my humble opinion, it feels like the Iowa State fanbase is happier with Dresser than they ought to be. There has not been much of an improvement since he took over with tournament team points. In theory, they should have done their best this year with AA threats with Terukina, Paniro(out), Swiderski, Chittum, Feldkamp, Bastida and then obviously Carr. Flo has Iowa State tournament team ranking at 11. They have a lot of upside with where these kids are currently ranked.

you're right. that too. i like that kid, though. he is so fun to watch. he might carry on the torch of PSU guys with high octane offense. that is fun for everyone to watch. also, Joe Sealey is going to PSU. Penn State, based on preseason rankings, picked up 30 tournament team points through the portal. I realized this today and it bothers me. That is more points than my Buckeyes currently have based on preseason ranking projections. Those points will not even be needed to win the trophy, but still, I do not like it.

I have heard differently from someone that was there during the Kolat years as well. I was also told that Jaworski's Hodge was in the locker room.

Kolat was hired as Campbell Head Coach in April 2014. Coleman Scott has hired as assistant coach in May 2014. Became Head coach the following year and we all knew it was gonna happen when he was hired. You would think Kolat had a clue about Mock leaving in the next year. It always seemed like Mock was just sticking around for his kid. I am going to guess that the ship has sailed for Kolat and UNC. Side note, the whole time he coached at UNC, there was a big picture of Jaworsky in the room. He LOVED looking at that every day at work.

Ryan did say Feldman weighs 240 and is physically stronger and faster than when he showed up on campus. I am very excited to see him wrestle again a very tough heavyweight field. I am with you on 197. We do not have enough info on Rogotzke to tell how he compares to Shumate. I think Rogotzke was a bigger recruit on the Big Board(I think), but he is a freshman so we will see.

It is an interesting situation about how the NCAA can handle prospective athletes with a situation like this(assuming he falls into the category due to gray shirt). NCAA compliance is not the same as the law. I am very curious about the time period of the criminal complaint ending on 10/31 and how he wrestled his first match on 11/5. If what Dresser is telling Willie is accurate and they expect no penalty, then my guess is he signed some sort of compliance paperwork declaring himself a college athlete before 10/31 and making him subject to NCAA regulations, however he decided to stop the gambling activities once he signed. This would mean he could dodge the NCAA compliance penalties. He never signed anything his gray shirt year.

This is my thought. His first college match was on 11/5 and he was in grey shirt the prior year. So the rules/laws may not apply given the time period.

so i have only heard part of the story because the OUPD says there were two kids... but what i heard was some kid was out getting in fights at the bars the night before a practice. he goes with one of the coaches the next day and claims he got hurt, so the kid's rich parents tried to press charges. the kid transfers out and is already at a different school. apparently the criminal investigation is over and nothing happened with it. i do not know if there is a pending civil suit. maybe that is why the coaches are not back yet.

In March, there will likely be a lot of bachelorette parties with ladies getting ready for their spring weddings. We could all walk straight out of the arena to this. It is such a walkable city. So much fun.

No stain has been placed on Stanford for when they briefly planned to drop their wrestling program. They have been recruiting well, especially in the 2024 class. Rob Koll is top notch.

I take this back. The PAC12 has their basketball conference tournament at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Maybe the PAC12 could host and NCAAs in Las Vegas is possible.

I looked up the future venues for NCAA Championships and noticed that each City/Venue has a Host. Who could be the host out in Vegas? There are no Big12 or PAC 12 schools in Nevada. These locations for NCAAs do need support semi-locally. I will go out on a limb and say it will never happen in Las Vegas because it does not align with any possible Hosts in wrestling. Doesn't Japan have a national team qualification process for Olympic Weights on different dates than the non-Olympic weights? Does anyone know the specific details?
