The not cluster bombs are a 36” long x 6” diameter projectile filled with 88 grenades, about the size of 8 oz. soda cans. At a designated height above the ground, the projectile releases the grenades which can spread out covering up to 20 acres or more, depending on the height of dispersal. The grenades rely on a ribbon to arm them as they descend to the earth. If the ribbon arms the fuse, the grenade will explode on impact. If it does not, they become live ordinances to be found for decades after the present trenches become farmland, playgrounds and puppy sanctuaries.

That’s a good start… I’d add, in no particular order: 4) End birthright citizenship… I’ll agree to follow Europe’s lead on this one… even a blind squirrel can find a nut. 5) Close down the majority of the 750+ military bases we have around the world (compared to China’s 1.5), and focus on economic world dominance, not military world dominance. 6) Withdraw from NATO and let Europe pay to protect themselves… no reason for us to be flipping the bill for them to have free healthcare, 32-hour work weeks and three months paid time off, then they have the nerve to smug about it. 7) Phase out the present social security system for something that isn’t the literal definition of a ponzi-scheme. 8 ) Phase in a Federal sales tax while phasing out Federal income tax. 9) Term limits, age limits, cognitive testing for all elected officials. Octogenarians should not be setting the direction of the country for the next several decades when they are not likely to see the end of this one. 10) Return rights to the states and allow them to be the laboratories of democracy as they were intended. 11) Require a balanced federal budget. 12) Remove party identification from ballots. No “R” or “D” next to the candidate, only an “i” for the incumbent. The only straight ticket voting option is a “No Confidence” vote, which automatically places your vote against all incumbents.

Do bomb shelters work against all munitions or just bombs? I know what you’re saying le duke, but it’s more than less semantics.
-
I thought you just said we weren’t sending cluster bombs? Even being “smart” cluster bombs, when they were new (not sitting around for a couple decades or so) and fired by soldiers who know what they’re doing (not Ukrainians with minimal training), they had a 5-10% fail rate, meaning for each one fired, best case scenario, 4-9 of the 88 submunitions will be laying around undetonated… I’m sure some former EOD’s will be raking in $100k/month to go over there when this is all done… maybe Russell Brand is on to something with the funneling of money to US military contractors. Here nor there, we’re only sending cluster bombs because our own munitions stockpiles are depleted, and they’ll give us (the military-industrial complex) time to produce more ammo and artillery. We are not just sending “expired” ammo/ artillery/ weaponry. That’s a bald face lie (I.e. Raytheon is rehiring all of their pensioners), and we have now put ourselves at a disadvantageous military readiness position. … and no, they aren’t going to Germany for military training. Over a million Ukrainians are now in Germany, with about half of them looking for work there. The longer the war goes on, the fewer of the 9 million Ukrainians who fled will come back.
-
We 100% are sending cluster bombs. We just destroyed the last of our chemical weapon stockpile this week… why didn’t we just send those to Ukraine to use? What Russia did/is doing isn’t right, but we have ceded any moral high ground by using Ukrainians as cannon fodder. The longer we send munitions to Ukraine, the more Ukrainians will be killed or flee the country (trainloads of 20-40 year old Ukrainian men arrive in Germany every day), wiping out a generation. Russia just positioned almost 200k troops on the eastern front… nothing good is coming for Ukraine. Zelenskyy ran on and won on a peace platform, which he has completely scoffed at since winning. His approval rating was in the low to mid teens before the war (there haven’t been any credible polls since), and he will likely be ousted at the next election if it’s free (and Zelenskyy’s secret police stops disappearing the opposition). The longer the war goes, the longer Zelenskyy will get away with canceling elections and tightening his authoritarian grip on the Ukrainian government.

RB has a good variety of guests. If you’re listening to news/podcasts for the host(s), you’re missing the point of long form interviews. That being said, even if I don’t agree with many of Russell Brand’s views, I can acknowledge that he is very inquisitive and obviously intelligent. As far as Ukraine goes why do we care which gangster in a tracksuit controls Donbas? ***duck duck goose** what’s acceptable to Zelenskyy. Zelenskyy is not our friend, and he will keep bleeding the coffers of the West, sacrificing the Ukrainian youth and enriching himself for as long as he can. Now, Zelenskyy is demanding immediate NATO membership and vows to keep the war going until he controls Crimea, no matter the cost. Sending cluster bombs (weapons which will undoubtedly be considered a war crime to use in the near future) is an unconscionable desperation move by the US. It’s time we cut off lethal aid to Ukraine, and go back to only sending blankets and MREs, until they agree to sitting down at the table with Russia in good faith. That means a new Minsk agreement, no NATO membership, and immediate UN-monitored national and regional elections.

Pretty sure there isn’t a single objective source of news… every “news” article should carry the label “opinion”. It’s much more enjoyable and informative to listen to podcasts and hear the reasoning behind the opinions of far more intelligent persons than so called journalists. My go-to’s… Darkhorse with Bret Weinstein, Jordan B. Peterson Podcast, Part of the Problem, Club Random with Bill Maher, Joe Rogan Experience, Stay Free with Russell Brand, Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, RFK Jr. Podcast, System Update with Glenn Greenwald… and a few others

Iowa could have 7 transfer starters next year

I agree with this statement... but it's still fun to call him fat, even if he has the speed of Vito.

Jimmy in his study thinking of the next great topic. -
I’ve been watching quite a bit of combat sambo lately… would much prefer to see it added to the Olympics than beach wrestling, but neither at the expense of Greco.

Backdoor agreements are sometimes worked out between a husband and wife looking to spice things up…

Could Gable go to Iowa and challenge Penn State?

That’s grand. An Olympic gold medalist doesn’t take an Olympic redshirt, but a guy not in the top 8 on the ladder does. -

Willie says the rumor has legs. Know what else has legs? Squirrels. And squirrels are just tree rats. Not sure where I’m going with this… -

Does this mean he is done with WWE? Wasn’t that the hang-up with him competing last season? -
Nah… not every science geek gets to be coached by Carl Sanderson. B&G keeps going on about letting it be true free market capitalism, and I’m just agreeing with him.
-
True free market would be allowing the schools and coaches to also charge the wrestlers whatever they feel is commensurate for allowing them to be part of a top program and get top coaching. Why should the wrestlers be the only ones allowed free rein to make money? Obviously Cael could charge much more than Brands for his coaching prowess, so it might be a windfall for you and your program, B&G.
-
We already have a controversial thread about that…no need to drag it over here, too. But, in seriousness, that’s cool that they’ve brought Greco to the girls, side. Is this the first year (at least at the national level)?
-
I think college wrestlers should have to pay for the privilege to wrestle… the better the team, the more they have to pay. For example, a PSU wrestler would have to pay $100k/year, and, when scaling it for success, an Iowa wrestler might have to pay about $5-10k/year.
-
Possibly D3. Not D1… don’t think D2 either… unless you’ve been overseas on military deployment the whole time. I believe there’s a deferment for that.

Casey's breakfast pizza is a staple in coaches' rooms in these parts...

And when a kid signs an NIL contract with the Swarm Collective, then goes to Minnesota but demands Swarm to honor the contract, how will you feel? Sure, he might have to drive down to IC to visit the children’s hospital a couple times to get his $100k, but whatever.
-
NCAA made the change because they were about to lose billions in anti-trust lawsuits and also feared student-athletes would begin unionizing. They rolled out NIL in a vague and chaotic manner (just telling schools to follow whatever the law was in their state, and if there wasn’t one, just make up some rules), likely on purpose in hopes that there would be chaos, and, ultimately, schools would beg the NCAA to take back control. Again, I don’t think this has much to do with people throwing tantrums about their teams not getting transfers, as it does with people acknowledging the chaos and need for some actual structure… Either that, or get rid of the NCAA and let college teams be semi-pro, allowing schools to pay kids directly.
-
Already happening on football and basketball, and I’m sure to some extent in wrestling. With NIL not being allowed to be tied to an athlete’s attendance at a specific school, it gets murky really fast. Obviously, if Nike signs an athlete to a contract, they’d want that athlete to be on a Nike sponsored team, not an Adidas team. Maybe that’s a loophole that they can go to any Nike school, not a specific one. Not sure. This might be able to be bypassed in wrestling by, say, the Swarm Collective promising a recruit $X if they train at the Hawkeye Wrestling Club/RTC. Again, not sure.

It doesn't really matter that wrestling doesn't make money... the money is coming from donors, not the school, so the balance sheet doesn't factor into the equation. It's more of a hobby for people with money to be able to have power/influence over something they otherwise would not... sort of like John DuPont and Foxcatcher. Top collegiate wrestlers have a higher earning potential than top international wrestlers (with some exceptions). The college wrestlers are attached to a school and its fanbase/alumni/donors... some international wrestlers are as well but not to the same level. Sure, an alumni would like to see a former wrestler win an Olympic Gold, but he probably cares more about the college team winning an NCAA title. Strange to think, but it is what it is.
