I wonder what Trump meant in his speech the other night, when he told the crowd if you just get out and vote this time, you won’t have to vote again. Concluding with “in four years we’ll have it fixed so good you won’t ever have to vote again”. Thats interesting.

I guess there in lies the fundamental difference between you and I….you think of it as a punishment. It is not punishment. It is responsible for your actions. No matter how you try to slice it, the person (except in the case of rape/sexual abuse) made a decision, a choice. And yes, you (that person) are responsible for the results, whatever they may be, of that choice. In this case it happens to be creating another living being. And yes, you are responsible for the care of that living being, because it is SOLELY there as a result of the choice you made, and can only live, for a period of time, under your direct care, which means….sharing your body. That’s how the fetus develops and grows until it no longer needs your body. There are then procedures for, should you need to or choose to, choose not to care for that being beyond the point that you are the only one on the planet that can. I’m not saying there aren’t scenarios in which I’m okay/for abortion. I’m saying this argument of punishment and without consent is just……bullshit. Let me ask you this, and I would appreciate a direct answer without dancing around or moving the goal posts. Who in this scenario had more of a choice…the living being that created the action, or the living being that was the result?

I know I’m going to take a bunch of flack here but I think this race is over. Prior to the debate (and even after in some polls), Trump was neck and neck with Weekend at Bernie’s. The whole unfit for office script is completely flipped now, and the race between two dead beats is gone. Everyone will have their opinions of her but she brings a punch of energy to the campaign that is completely different than what has been for awhile. Add to that, there’s a whole lot of black folks pissed off, and there’s a whole lot of women pissed off. And Trump might have shot himself in the foot choosing Vance. Just an observation.

That would be relevant if he was vacating the Presidency. He is not doing that. He vacated his campaign for the 2024 election, which has not been voted yet.

I'm not sure that's completely accurate. There has been a lot of talk of the issue going through Congress to be 'codified'. Not that that means it's sure fire going to pass.... Regardless, let's not pretend the voting population is truly fully aware of what is capable and what is not, or for that matter even have a realistic view of what is going on. The point is there is a whole lot of pissed off women around the country, and they are going to be voting even if they don't really know what they are voting for.

What's going to be real interesting to see is the turn out numbers. Have a feeling with what has gone on with Roe v Wade, women are going to come out in record numbers. Particularly younger women.
