  1. Some interesting takes there. Van Hess beat Henson pretty easily at NCAAs. Not sure why you’d pick him over SVN, as we’ve seen that match and SVN had the only two TDs of that match. Gap expands with more mat time for SVN. Starts ~11:30 in. Also, I’m taking Haines over Sasso all day, every day. Particularly with another year at PSU under his belt. Messenbrink is going to be great, but beating KOT??? That’s crazy, until we see him dismantling top 5-8 guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Who do you envision Anthony Ferrari beating in a theoretical Penn State dual?
  3. The log jam that Penn State has extends down to 141. There is no room for any of them to go up in weight. Only down. BB is a Junior World bronze at 65kg, NCAA 3rd place finisher at 141. Two years of eligibility left. SVN is an NCAA 3rd place finisher at 149. Three years of eligibility left. Kasak is a U17 silver medalist at 65kg. Made 139 recently for Dapper Dan/PWC. At 157-165-174, Penn State has: 1) Carter Starocci, 3x 174lb NCAA champ with two years of eligibility (unlikely to take both). 2) Alex Facundo, 165lbs, 0-2 at NCAAs last year but likely a top 10 guy when healthy. Might be forced into an OLY RS fi Three years of eligibility remaining. 3) Haines, 2nd place at 157 as a true frosh, likely to remain at 157. Three years of eligibility remaining. 4) Mesenbrink, U20 silver medalist at 70kg. Beat Haines after Haines won the challenge tournament. Four years of eligibility. 5) Josh Barr, will be a freshman this year. Will RS unless Starocci goes OLY RS. 174 at the lightest, 184 in time. Four years of eligibility. 5) Joe Sealey, 71kg U17 World Champ. HS Senior this upcoming year. Wouldn't be surprised to see him at NLWC for his senior year or go GS/RS to let the lineup clear out a bit.
  4. Am I? Look at those programs in the last 5 years. I’d make the same argument FOR Iowa at 125/133. If you’re 125/133 and Iowa wants you to transfer there, you should probably do it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. If you’re a 174, 184 or 197, I can think of multiple non-PSU programs with better results and better coaching at that those weights. Hell, UNI is a substantially better option for upper weight talent development than Iowa. I’d argue NC State is, too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. The only reasons any 165-197lb wrestler would consider transferring into Iowa at this point are NIL or the fact that no one else would take them. They don’t have any RTC athletes worth a damn in that range and their coaches for those weights aren’t very good. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. Why was the FRL crew talking about these proposed rules as if they are actually in effect? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Might want to check your math there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. It's been solved since John Brooks liked a post about Aaron Brooks moving up to 197, shortly after NCAAs. Truax will be the 184 for Penn State.

  11. Ron Desantis. A video of him saying it: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2023/04/17/florida-gov-ron-desantis-legislation-prison-to-battle-disney/11683191002/ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. Apparently he’s threatening to build a state prison next to Disney now. For a person who was so concerned about children, it seems strange that he would endanger them by building a facility to house large numbers of convicted felons right next door to one of the largest amusement parks in the world. 14. I hope Angelo goes wherever he wants. I also hope he can get away from his family. They are not a positive influence. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Purportedly, Iowa did not even contact Aaron Brooks or Carter Starocci when they were in HS. If you're a program trying to beat Penn State, that seems like coaching/recruiting malpractice to me.
  16. For his sake, I hope he ends up 1,000+ miles away from his brothers and adult relatives. And, as a VT alum, I wouldn't be opposed to him choosing VT.

  21. Irony: Hawkeye fan telling a Penn State fan that objective assessment of talent/progress is “negativity”. Go over to HR/GIA and read all of the comments from the incredibly deluded mega donors who think HWC is on par with NLWC. FWIW, I have been and remain a fan of Facundo. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I don’t think he majors him but he’s going to put up points that Facundo can’t match. That said, guys seem to make a jump in year three at PSU. See: Beau Bartlett. Maybe Facundo will develop a couple of good keg attacks. I’d love to see Penn State have a Shak-Cassar situation with two legit top 5-10 guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. This is a joke, right? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. He gave up a TD to Ethan Smith in an 11-5 win. And another to DJ Washington in an 11-3 MD. That’s it. Was the top team point scorer at NCAAs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. Yeah. Look at their roster from NCAAs. How many schools are taking more than 4 matches from them in March? Likely zero. They went 1-1-2-2-2-3-3-7-NP with their nine qualifiers. Their “weak” weights were 125 and 165. Their lowest placing guy after that was a former NCAA champion, who took 7th. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
