  1. $1000 is chump change for the PSU wrestlers But seriously, an iphone is $1000. A watch, shoes, gear, ipad, could easily get that high and its not like its any "school athletic locker", I would guess its a fairly secure area where only a few people have access.
  2. I would bet a lot of money that there is no evidence that will implicate Cael.
  3. Dont' worry, Coastal knows two things for certain. Never change PSU
  4. So your two summer birthday kids are 8-12 weeks younger than the late April birthday, I don't see that as a big deal. If you want to call it a RS, I don't have an issue with the nomenclature. I just think, when talking about kindergarten, late April through Summer is a 50/50 call on whether you send them when they are 5. I have seen it go both ways and most have nothing to do with sports. Typically, the 9/1 date is for 6 year olds, not 5 year olds. It seems pretty common for July birthdays to get held, I doubt all the summer birthday gets sent when 5 (just like you didn't) so the 1/3 is an exaggeration for effect and not likely.
  5. To me, late April is right on the line where I wouldn't consider that a RS. I know he will be 19 for a few weeks before he graduates, but only a few months older than a someone who turns 19 in June/July after they graduate. To me, a RS is when they are held an additional year. For the record, I don't have a big issue with any parent who RS their kid before Kindergarten (regardless of month of birth) as 99.9% is done for size/maturity issues and not a competitive advantage when they are 19. I also don't have a big issue with a 19 year old senior but I can at least understand the argument, it just doesn't bother me a ton.
  6. I don't think that is correct. His RS would have been 21-22 school year, if he is going to graduate in 2026. According to Track he was wrestling between 100 - 106 in the spring of 2021. He won Cadets at 45 KG (99 lbs) in July of 2021 before he redshirted. I suppose you could argue that the best 99 lber in the world in July 2021, would of needed to a redshirt to compete at the State tournament in March 2022 at 106, but he wasn't competing at 95 lbs when he would of been a freshman.
  7. ^^This^^ According to Keegan Bassett, "all (the Bassett camp) wanted was... what other top recruits were getting" and according to Bo this was not NIL related. I am not sure what other benefits a recruit, 1 year prior to graduating, can receive that is not NIL related. Most likely, PSU kept recruiting Bo and convinced him to flip and the "not feeling the love" "Brand's yelled at my mommy" stories are just a cover to save face for someone who is very image/brand conscious.
  8. Yeah, Spencer could privately pay for Bo and his immediate family, Bo's aunt, uncles and 1st cousins to come to Iowa City every week. Problem solved.
  9. Ironically, if Bo hadn't reclassified before his freshman year, he would be on campus training in the Iowa room as we speak.
  10. No, I am not implying Bob is running the show. I am saying his status within the Iowa program is different than Bill Bassetts so they are treated differently.
  11. Yep, the guy who is paying seven figures annually has a say and the guy who is receiving the money does not. I know it was a joke, but that is how the world works. Thou who has the gold, makes the rules. We all have bosses. And as Williams and Gabe are finding out, its never good to piss off the guy who signs your checks.
  12. I am sure this was part Bill Bassett's complaint. But we also don't know how the Iowa AD/Compliance views wrestling. The AD stepped in to stop AJ getting admitted after the double bird, they had the gambling issue to deal with and just recently had to make a public statement (or lack thereof) about William's arrest. It's entirely possible the AD said, no we are not going to risk a violation on this (pure speculation on my part). David Taylor is the new penny on campus and just had success that is bringing positive attention to the school. With Paycom bring in new revenue, maybe OSU is just saying screw it, the NCAA lacks teeth and we will do what we want. It also raises the question of who pays for the flights? Bo's NIL deal with Bob Nichols was already agreed upon and now with revenue sharing, who pays for flights if Bob says I already giving you $5M. that flight money has to come from Revenue Sharing. Maybe OSU NIL deal with Paycom included flights to Stillwater and Bill Bassett is just upset he didn't get the best deal. My point is there is a lot we don't know. It seems very unlikely Brands would say Bo couldn't train there unless compliance or paying for it was an issue. So if its out of Brand's hands and that is the reason Bo de-committed then it probably wasn't going to work anyway. I agree with the notion that Bassetts are probably at fault and Brands could of handled it better and been a little softer around the edges. But I doubt he committed to Iowa because he thought Brands would deliver every message with sunshine and roses.
  13. I think you have it summarized correctly. The only thing I would add as possibilities your question is : 1) it is a grey area in the rule and Ok St compliance is willing to take the risk that is permitted and Iowa's compliance either doesn't think it's permissible or doesn't want to risk a violation on a 50/50 call. OR 2) Is Jax situation different under the rules than Bo's? Jax was going to Stillwater to train under the RTC for an event he will be competing in as opposed to Bo who may just want to go train. Also, sounds like Melvin and Keegan also wanted to go and maybe as prospective athletes that could be different that OSU paying for Jax and (potentially) his family? I don't know the rules but the nuances could be important to how each compliance department is looking at it.
  14. I thought the discussion was on scrambling ability not trying to defend a shot. Once it was going to require Lee to scramble to avoid the TD, he bailed. My point about the ACL was he wasn't trying to scramble because of his knee injuries, not an excuse for him losing the position so not sure why Cardlinale's knee is relevant.
  15. Bailing out of a position when up 10-0 while wrestling without an ACL is not an exception.
  16. It does say something when your freshman younger brother needs to weigh in on your de-commitment and uses phrases like "all we wanted.."
  17. Usually there are two sides to every story. It just seems weird to me that all Bo's side is saying is that they weren't "feeling the love"... TnT don't seem like the lovey type so I can't imagine that was the main reason he originally committed to Iowa. If he commits quickly after such long drawn out process the first time, I wonder if this isn't just a typical commitment flit but for for someone who cultivates his imagine so carefully they want to make it look like it was Iowa who wouldn't meet their (unreasonable?) "love" request.
  18. I doubt we see Kueter back for the ISU dual. No inside knowledge just initially sounded like that we would be a quick return timeline and I would guess they take their time and bring him back slowly.
  19. Willie defiantly the more credentialed, but I worry about the gas tank. If Pyles can survive the first period it could be rough for the Brain.
  20. It helps AJ that all of the top HWT contenders are former 197s that have moved up. None are terribly big, although they have had more time to acclimate up at HWT. If I guy like Kerkvliet was still in the division, I would struggle to see how AJ could win but that is not the case this year.
  21. Northern Colorado not North Carolina
  22. I get your point, but whether you like it or don't or Kyle Snyder doesn't like the rule, it is the rule. We may not like the speed limit laws but if we get caught breaking them, we have to pay the fine. At some point, Snyder has to understand the rules of the game and face the consequences for his actions.
  23. Safesport should release a statement that they are going to pray about it and will come back, this is not the end of Safesport story.
  24. Not that it is matters to your point, but Downey did win a Junior Silver medal. Maybe the recruiting rankings weren't as accurate as today but its not like he was a nobody. Does it really matter that it is talked about in the college forum? This is the biggest story in wrestling and the college forum is the most active. And we really don't know Synder was a model citizen for over a decade. Only his public imagine has been squeaky clean but as someone else pointed out OJ Simpson had a great image but it tuns out he wasn't a very good dude. Maybe Downy is just more honest with his public image and doesn't try to put on a fake image? Does that mean we should treat the guy who is managing his image better than the guy who shows you his true self, warts and all.
  25. Can we get PD3 on the message board? He makes some good points.
