  1. I hope the little pear is thoroughly castigated by his teammates for winning by a paltry decision!
  2. I'm still skeptical this confirms anything. They could have registered Ono as a visiting student to get him card access to the wrestling facilities, commons, hub, etc. while he was visiting. Idk, man...
  3. Was being a chill dude his special tournament surprise? I was hoping he invented a new type of backflip or something for his post-finals celebration
  4. Oh, I see what you mean. I was referring to sports having a blood rule where the action is paused and the athlete is pulled until the blood is cleaned and the bleeding is stopped. Also, stop making me defend basketball!
  5. What'd she think of JWit's lane violation over the weekend? I felt really bad for the kid, hopefully all is forgiven among the 'Heels fanbase now that they've won their play-in game
  6. Is Jacori Teemer the most popular darkhorse pick by far?
  7. I have a miracle cure that will instantly improve your life tenfold. It's called stop listening to Bo Nickal.
  8. Anyway, the risk of moving the date of NCAAs is that ESPN, who airs wrestling because they don't have broadcast rights to March Madness for the foreseeable future, will be less incentivized to pick it up... although that may be changing with the growing popularity of WBB (which ESPN has the rights to). Shortening the season and moving the start date up would be great for the wrestlers, but we'd still have the problem of DDM and building viewership and revenue for the sport. And ducking in a condensed season would probably make tournament seeding even messier. I don't know.
  9. Big difference between playing basketball and wrestling. Ages ago I was trolled by someone who said wrestling is a soft sport because matches are short and we have breaks between the regular season and the conference tournament & Nationals, whereas basketball plays right through with no rest and the games are longer. Yeah, in one sport you have guys who take timeouts when they get overwhelmed; in the other you have guys not eating for several days and trying not to get dropped on their head and controlled. (I know I'm preaching to the choir)
  10. I thought Sidakov went MIA due to military commitments. Is that no longer the case?
  11. Ain't that the truth! @Wrestleknownothing if it's not too much trouble, would you be able to throw in an all-17 lineup into the final results, just for the sake of comparison?
  12. Hah! I was thinking it might've been him, but didn't want to be rude and assume
  13. something nice
  14. Sounds about right. Grad transfer, change of scenery, not being on Dresser's good side after the disciplinary issues, also I am guessing that Oz will be going down to 125 next year?
  15. Has anyone submitted an all 17-seed hedge team yet? IIRC someone did that last year and came out pretty okay
  16. I'm ambivalent about Starocci BUT... just saying... if he whiffs on #5 it'll probably save us from a bunch of fussing and nitpicking every time one of those GOAT discussions comes up
  17. Nice. Do you know if Resilite will be livestreaming the event for those who can't make it?
  18. The brackets on Track leaves some extra space in the margin. Or you could print the NCAA brackets out on 11x17 paper
  19. Let's go Kharchla
  20. That match sent shockwaves through the board. Check out the live comment thread as it happened:
  21. I feel like the 11-13s specifically are always set up to rack up some tournament points (esp if they're underseeded) just by nature of the way the brackets fall. Here are my greyhorse picks. Not very exciting. 125 - #15 Maximo Renteria (ORST) 133 - #11 Evan Frost (ISU) 141 - #12 Sam Latona (VT) 149 - #11 Sammy Alvarez (RID) 157 - #10 Ethen Miller (UMD) 165 - #14 Drake Rhodes (SDSU) 174 - #13 Cade DeVos (SDSU) 184 - #11 Gabe Arnold (IOWA) 197 - #14 Zach Glazier (SDSU) 285 - #13 Seth Nevills (UMD)
  22. I'd take that bet. Zero chance Buchannon and Stevenson wins. (apologies to @ionel for posting this) Seriously though, I'd be interested in seeing how much the lines move over the next few days.
  23. Thanks for pulling this together and for detailing your methodology. How many cycles did you simulate each round & combination in the bracket before landing on a final probability? Just wondering. It's pretty amazing that we have the ability to do this from our desktops in this day and age.
