  1. Your suggestion here that the 4 remaining PAC 12 schools could grab teams from the Mountain West Conference is not feasible because of the gigantic exit fees that the former MWC commissioner instituted as he left that job. NOW if a MWC team wants to leave the MWC they face exit fees up to 34 MILLION dollars. No MWC team is going to pay that gigantic exit fee to go to a conference that is a mere shell of what it once was. Or to a conference that has no TV plan in place for 2024, etc. It would be insanity to do that. The more logical plan would be for the 4 remaining PAC schools to join the MWC - but I don't see Stanford ever doing that. I'm a lifelong wrestling fan but I see no way on Earth that the MWC adds wrestling as a sport. None - zip - zilch - NADA.
  2. Where does Charlie Darracott fit in Stanford's lineup for next season? Darracott wrestled Cardenas three times last season and lost those three matches by a total of 7 points. Does he move up to 165 lbs? If Eischens does not sign with another school for next season does he have the option of returning to the Stanford lineup? If he does sign with another school for next season who is likely to succeed him in the Stanford lineup at 174 lbs? I would think Lorenzo Norman might be a possibility as a true freshman.
  3. WrestleStat is now listing Chance McLane (formerly of Oklahoma State) as a member of Arizona State's wrestling team for next season. I hadn't seen or heard anything on that myself. Flo Wrestling transfer tracker does not show him as going to ASU. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/10776671-2023-ncaa-d1-wrestling-off-season-transfer-tracker
  4. Another one of Stanford's best has entered the transfer portal. That being Tyler Eischens (174 lbs). Ranked # 22 on WS. Griffith being the other Stanford guy in the TP.
  5. According to this article (below) Aaron Nagao has narrowed his transfer schools down to three schools and Penn State is the first school listed here - probably because it's a Penn State website. So don't read too much into that. But the three schools mentioned here are Penn State, Cornell and Iowa. https://www.on3.com/teams/penn-state-nittany-lions/news/penn-state-wrestling-makes-top-two-for-transfer-portal-target-chris-cannon/ What sort of a meltdown is going to occur to the Iowa fans if Nagao chooses Penn State or Cornell over Iowa? This article also quotes Nagao as saying he will make his decision by the end of this month. And that's just one week away now.
  6. Not trying to rain on your parade here but seeing as Truax visited Penn State earlier this week it would seem more likely he's headed to PSU than ASU.
  7. And as a very long-time Oakland A's fan I have to say that the lack of spending by the A's has been a definite factor in their awful win loss record over the last decade. Currently the A's have the very worst won loss record in MLB (3-10). Yet they continue to implement that strategy - which did work for a while but no longer works. Bottom line is if you want to have success you have to spend the money. Going the cheap route just doesn't get it done.
  8. Lilledahl was a H.S. Freshman in 2021. So he won't be a H.S. Senior until next season.
  9. According to the Stanford twitter page he is a "recruit" for Stanford. Yet there has been no mention of him on the WrestleStat list of recruits (as far as I can tell) or on the Intermat list of recruits.
  10. Great name for a wrestler, that being Thor Michaelson, of Bremerton,WA. He apparently committed to Stanford last year as this article is dated from Nov. 1, 2022, and he was already committed then. But I've seen nothing about him on the WrestleStat recruiting list or on Intermat, etc. Michaelson won the Washington 2-A State championship at 170 lbs with two wins by Fall and two Tech-Falls. He also won the Washington 2-A State championship at 160 lbs in 2022. And he was also the 2020 Washington 2-A State runner-up at 138 lbs. The article goes into why he is referred to as a "long-shot" https://www.kitsapsun.com/story/sports/2022/11/01/bremerton-washington-high-school-wrestler-thor-michaelson-commits-stanford-cardinal/10627884002/ My question is -------- is he still committed to Stanford? The article mentions that he chose to commit to Stanford over other schools including Oregon State.
  11. So would Griffith.
  12. I understand your train of thought here. Or maybe not. I'm thinking you believe that Ysaguirre will drop down to 133 and that Teemer will move up to 165 lbs. And the rest of the low to middle weight classes will be Figueroa (125) - Vasquez (141) - Parco or Ramos (149) - Parco or Ramos (157). Correct me on what I have wrong here.
  13. ASU would still need someone for 197 lbs and for 285 lbs as well IF Schultz takes the Olympic RS. I could see them going to the transfer portal for someone for 133, 165, 197 & 285.
  14. Since Nagao is from California I have to wonder if Arizona State is trying to get him on the phone right now to replace McGee at 133.
  15. I would also include Garrett Grice now formerly of Virginia at 133 - Cannon is ranked by WS at # 14 and Grice is # 15. Also Grice went 13-2 at 133 lbs as a True FR last season. Alvarez and Decatur are not listed on the Transfer Portal list on WS. There is also Travis Mastrogiovanni of Oklahoma State at 157 lbs.
  16. In fact Griffith is the only Stanford guy who is currently listed in the transfer portal (according to WS)
  17. Griffith is in the transfer portal - according to WrestleStat's transfer portal list. 4 Griffith, Shane | SR Stanford PAC 12
  18. I don't know which was more ridiculous............the idiotic predictions of nhs67 Or the pathetic & incompetent streaming by Arizona State last night. But you expect the former to be idiotic. He seems to enjoy it.
  19. never mind
  20. Your own words here you DOLT "Using what each school projected as it's starter and Wrestlestat projects a 25-6 Rutgers victory."
  21. Not mine - WrestleStat's. You do know how to use WrestleStat's dual comparison feature don't ya?
  22. Just as it is outlined above (and below here) 125 - Figueroa 133 - McGee 141 - Vasquez 149 - Parco 157 - Wilner 165 - Negron 174 - Nummer 184 - Montalvo 197 - Fagen 285 - Palosika
  23. Funny, I came up with a score of Rutgers 22 - Arizona State 14 with the listed ASU starters vs the Rutgers starters.
  24. I posted that same lineup yesterday in the PAC 12 schedule for this weekend thread here. https://intermatforums.com/topic/143-pac-12-wrestling-events-nov-12-thru-nov-14-2022/ My GUESS is they are going with a lot of the 2nd string guys (or 3rd string?) and keeping most of the starters for the tournament on Sunday. But that is just what I said it was - a GUESS.
  25. If one wrestling team has a dual match with another wrestling team and SEVEN of the 10 starters for one team are not in the lineup for that dual.........is it REALLY an actual dual or just an imaginary event? It certainly wouldn't be a representative example of one of the two teams, i.e., a team without 7 of their 10 starters is nothing at all like that team with all 10 starters in the lineup.
