If a company budget's $2.5M for a new POS system...it is in the budget...and it is determined that the POS system is no longer needed...did the company save $2.5M? How about if they had it in their budget to hire 25 new people in the current year; however, they did some process improvement and made things much more efficient and thus didn't need to hire the 25 new people...is that $$$ savings for the company?

When was the president sworn in again...only about 1.5 months ago...and yet people are complaining that DOGE has only cut a small percentage of the overall budget...then out the other side of their mouth complain they are going to fast?? I'll ask any of you who rip on Musk/Trump indiscriminately...let's just say what DOGE is cutting is a small percentage of the overall budget (again it's only been 1.5 MONTHS), do you honestly believe that it shouldn't be cut if it is wasteful/fraud because it is a small percentage??? You honestly don't think if this continues for another 3.75 years that a significant impact can be made to cut the budget and remove waste/fraud??

So your defense of saying he hasn't found any fraud is saying that it was fraud that "we all knew about"?? Seriously?? Come on..... And of the cuts made, I haven't seen anything I was like...oooh maybe he shouldn't of done that (not talking about the firing of people), but I also agree that they should all be made within the constitutional power of the POTUS, or through congress as needed; however, I am pretty sure you, nor I, nor anyone on here has ANY clue as to the actual legalities of what is happening...heck, even the MSM who sensationalize and lie all the time and hate Trump/Musk, ultimately punt and say the courts will sort it out...fine by me despite it slowing a lot of things down. Funny part is that if the courts say it is okay but slows everything down to a crawl, you all will still be belly aching that it is taking too long, the judges are biased, and play some more mental gymnastics to somehow make these cuts bad.

That may technically be true given that those people may not be able to contribute in the same way to the economy compared to when they were employed (again I think the argument of HOW these people were let go is an argument that could be had); however, if their job was not needed it is the right thing to not maintain that job position (cut the waste). To me the right way to handle this would be to give the people time to find another job before their position is eliminated, help them with job placement (there are programs out there), and give them a severance, if needed. But ultimate the job should be eliminated if it is not needed.
