Devon Miller transferred from North Carolina and has enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma. What the heck is the story here? He was originally committed to wrestle for Kolat at Navy, decommitted, and chose NC....and now he is at UCO.
-
Damn, I didn't know that. I heard Kenny Monday is not doing great as the HC at Morgan St, I wonder if he will turn it around...lol
-
damn I never heard that....
-
that is fair.

All great questions. He was tough and good in highschool, and then he just fell of a cliff. I don't know if he is good anymore. He WAS the most troubled brother, not even close. He made AJ look like a preacher, but he seems to have got his stuff together? OR they are hiding it better. As far as morgan st, I seriously question how hard Kenny Monday is working to make that place better. This is for sure a bad and unfair opinion, because I am looking at the program from a distance, but I see nothing about pushing that university. He still has a big name, I think he could/would get some good in home visits that way? Anyway....just some some random thoughts.

I wrestled some good ones, but he was honestly one of the most technical guys I had ever wrestled. Calm, never emotional, just tough and solid. Tuttle kid, and there was a big group that came through there that was tough as hell. Trent Londen, Head brothers, on and on. Back in the day, the Oklahoma open was THE tournament to go to. Open, and everyone went to it. I to this day LOVE Thanksgiving because of the food, back then I never got to eat it cuz I was cutting weight. I was pretty good, and held my own, but not the Schmidt level. Wrestled him a few times, worst was 4-5 best was by 2. No moral victories, but now that I am old, damn right I believe in moral victories...lol
-
I don't understand the question
-
I wrestled Schmidt, tough as hell. Fried beat Brands, that dude was a bad mofo. Teague is a stud today, he is back into recruiting, and Weigel...GQ that could ride legs. GREAT call here....
-
gosh dang, I another absolute stud, gone too soon!
-
Me too. Can we discuss Morgan State? I do realize it is a new program, but how long does Monday get there before people start criticizing his progress? Again, tons of challenges, hard to recruit, etc....BUT, they absolutely suck.

SO, John was still training and still pretty much in his prime of wrestling. TJ, obviously tough as hell. RUMOR has it, TJ got the better of him in a few goes and John injured TJ, his ankle. This is a rumor that I have heard from a few people that were in the program. TJ said he was leaving, and John said he would never allow him to transfer out. This part is fact: The team was gone out of town on a dual, and TJ went into the AD's office and said, I am here to sign my transfer papers. AD says, I have no idea what you are talking about. TJ acts pissed, and says, John said they would be ready for me to sign. AD says, I cannot do that without John approving. TJ says, I will call him right now, acts like he is on the phone, does the "yep, i am in here and he says he didn't know about it etc" Obviously didn't talk to JOhn, but hangs up the phone. TJ says there you go, he said go ahead and draft them up and let me sign. AD does it. TJ signs transfer out. TJ is gone, heading to North Carolina and John gets back and is pissed...All sounds nuts, but it was way back before social media etc. That part about the transfer, I was told is a fact. I have never asked TJ directly about this, but I do have a friend that wrestled with him, that told me the story.

Speaking of TJ Jaworski, you guys know how and why he left Okie State? Not a good look for John.
-
Weigel, how good was he on top! Good one call.
-
HOLY $hit. Dude. Those that don't know, need to go look him up. Newby was one of the most dominant highschool wrestlers I've ever laid eyes on. The other for me was TJ Jaworski and I would honestly say Newby was better in highschool, and I know that is a mouth full. EVERYONE wanted him, he goes to OSU, fought with Smith about what weight to go, and then left and went to OU and fizzled out. Like to play in his band and party. I ran into him prolly 3-4 years ago, and I was kinda a fanboy to be honest. My gawd he was good...Thank you for bringing that one up. If anyone can find film on him, please look it up. He was slick man

Sam was a legend, he was talked about ALOT back in the day, and he is still around. He works out with some kids at UCO some, and he has some highschool kids he rolls with quite a bit. BIG FAN of him, and he is a great guy
-
Dang.....interesting. You would know....
-
My boy knew about this one and was involved in his move. This came down to a few different schools, Carter is good, he should be at 149 I believe.
-
Ian Miller coached my kid, and that is one bad MOFO. I think you could ask Jon Jon Millner and he would agree. My kid said there are coaches that are great at going through technique and then will "roll with you" then there is Ian Miller who is gonna beat the hell out of you. He said, we would be warming up, and if we saw Coach Miller tying his shoes, we knew we were screwed.
-
I do too. He needs to get a little more offense, but that will come this year.
-
I know him personally, and you are right. GREAT kid. He is the baby brother of two pretty damn good D2 wrestlers. Listen to this room I put together for a weekend. Brady, Zan Fugitt, Gage Walker, two D2 hammers, and my kid. Let me say this. Zan AA was not a shock to the dudes that know him. It will not be a shock when Brady AA, well not to us anyway.
-
Do you know Brady? I agree with you, he is tough as hell, and way under the radar. He could make some major waves.
-
At the time this was posted, I don't think anyone knew what was being asked. I didn't mention, look at the size of my nuts on this guess, I was predicting the champ, not AA. You are really gonna like my call of Messenbrink for 165. 133 is wide open, I think Ragusin will be my dark horse there, not to win it but to AA. Not an Iowa fan, but I think Ayala wins it this year.

Can I ask you a serious question, and I already know this is going to come across wrong. I see people spend countless hours on stuff like this, and I am thankful. BUT, are you retired? IF not retired, are you self-employed? Kids? Again, I know I sound like a d*ck, I do not want it to come across like that, but I find myself at times not being able to eat lunch because of my job, or running around. I am fascinated when people can do all of this stuff, or spend countless hours on social media. I get Willie, he does this for a living, but some of you guys can post all over social media and spend hours on posts like this. That Nh dude, hell I see him all over too. I guess what I am saying, I am jealous as hell that I do not get to enjoy life to spend this much time in forums and social media. I will get back to the group, I may quit my job as I talk through this. signed- truly jealous PS. I just looked. you have over 10K posts on this forum. That simply amazes me. I am going to say again, without you type of guys, we do not get to go brag about stats and data to our buddies like we came up with it ourselves.

those that have been around Spratley, knew he had a true shot at it. I missed his 1st year at OSU, I will admit, I thought he would have done better. With that being said, Lightning Luke is going to be hard to beat this year and that is my call for the title.
