  1. As others have said, Vito is not a sleeper. An underdog, yes. Draw a circle, place a Gumby action figure in to be Vito (obviously) and then add a Pokey horse to be Fix (again, obviously.) Toss in a fast-moving Jart as RBY and boom - you've got the results of the semifinal match on the top half of the bracket (if Vito were to get the 4 seed) leaving the two remaining characters for the finals. It's so simple. Don't overthink it.
  2. I didn't go PPV - haven't spent a nickel on any of Paul's fights yet and plan to continue that way. I had a link that worked... I tried to revisit the link afterward because Paul scored a knockdown in the 7th that I thought was a slip and wanted to take another look at it. No luck - it was live stream only.
  3. Yes - the former. Basically, all the boxing analysts during prefight interviews were saying the first 4 rounds favored Fury, but that if it goes 5-8 rounds then favor started tilting toward Paul. I don't follow either closely, but that told me that they expected Fury to fade. Don't know why. Maybe he was doing a lot of filming for his TV gig and didn't have the time to train properly? I can only guess. Like I said, there was quite a lot of clinching and holding going on in the later rounds by both of them - so Paul wasn't displaying superior conditioning at all. He was slowing down but still throwing a few hard lefts and occasional combinations. Fury was still clearly outpunching him but wasn't showing the power in his punches he had earlier in the fight. Except spending too much time clinching, it was a closer than expected fight that was surprisingly entertaining.
  4. "Live" is the only way this weekend. As much as PSU is heavily favored to win, they still have to show up and wrestle just like everybody else. I've wrestled enough to know that 'stuff happens.' Typically, a lot of that 'stuff' happens in Session I, it's not to be overlooked. It's arguably one of the best sessions in the tournament.
  5. @BobDole Hey Bob, any chance we could get a pin for this thread. I imagine it'll be useful come Friday night and Saturday morning.
  6. In my experience, the Fox Sports app is basically the app that BTN uses. In other words, what BTN offers live is what's live on the Fox Sports app. Nothing more. For other sessions, or replays. You'll need to use B1G+. (One last note - use my advice as a starting point and double check. Streaming offerings and policies are always changing and are anything but simple.)
  7. You're right - the BTN live marquee matches like "Iowa vs PSU" are BTN-only (and the FOX Sports app) for live streaming. But it is important to realize that it changes afterward. B1G+ does allow you to stream those matches the next day or so - they just don't stream them live (so as not to compete with their own BTN product.) For some of the marquee matches, I'm OK waiting a day while I avoid spoilers from this BBS. For others, nope, Live is the only way.
  8. I don't recall where I read this exactly. I took a quick look around and couldn't find it anywhere just now so I'm going off memory... If your school is competing in the event, the event is included in the school pass. $10/month for school pass, $15/month for conference... so if I'm wrong, I'll owe you $5
  9. Have to admit, Shane has had a tough hill to climb. Tougher than many. Support structure is so important in D1 Wrestling and his story at Stanford has been pretty crazy. I would like to see Shane back for another year because of his talent level. Doesn't matter to me which school, or if he chooses to retire from CW altogether.
  10. I should have PM'd you. I had a stream I could have hooked you up with. My bad. I'll say that it looked like Jake kept it close - as expected, he had more gas in the tank the in the final rounds. Still able to swing wildly from time to time and Fury had to stay in position and be careful. Jake didn't break. If there is a rematch, Fury will need to tank up if he expects a win. Throughout the match, there was a ridiculous amount of clutching and resting. Not good boxing there. Other than that, the match was close and entertaining.
  11. I've used the Roku channel and Apple TV app regularly and haven't had any problems. Also used various web browsers to stream from the site - again no problems. I recommend all of these. I have not used either the iPhone/iPad app or the Android app - sounds like maybe one of these is problematic.

  13. Tommy Fury isn't a boxing sensation by any means, his record was 8-0 against mostly below average fighters. He's better known for his reality TV performances. That being said, he's better than the celebrities and washed-up guys that Paul had been facing up until now. (Tommy is not to be confused with his brother, Tyson, who is the current Heavyweight boxing champ.) This match was surprisingly entertaining. Neither Paul nor Fury are good pro boxers - but their skills matched up pretty evenly and made for a fun match to watch. Ending with a split decision in favor of Tommy Fury. Apparently, there's a 'rematch' clause in the contract that gives Paul the right to a rematch if he loses... so we may well see this match again.
  14. Not YOU again! Good on you that you abandoned the Batman schtick. Guardians 2... hmm... well, might have worked without the left 1/5th. We all realize the singlet is a part of the wrestling essentials - but showcasing junk isn't doing anyone any favors. Not good all around. Coin toss? Only slightly behind junk shot. C'mon - you gave it almost zero thought before you phoned that in. I'm not here to judge you, but as long as I'm here. On a final note, your 97% hates Iowa seems crazy but may not be all that far off. Just add "fans" and you'll likely be close. Something like - "97% hate Iowa fans."
  15. No, but maybe on Farmers Only.
  16. No doubt, I was one who expressed regret last year. Hey Vak - maybe put me on the waitlist? If there is one, that is. And if there isn't, then I'm top of that brand spanking new one!

  18. Bigger issues than abortion - I agree. Politicians and lawyers shouldn't make our medical choices for us. Any and all medical decisions should be made by us and our doctors, including abortion and everything else. Our medical choices need to be left in our hands. Medical freedom is far more important than any political party. We shouldn't entrust our medical decisions to politicians and lawyers - they are the most untrustworthy of all.
  19. Against expectations, weird threads rock.
  20. Hmmm.. kind of surprised not mentioned. My first thought is Gable.
  21. Yeah, well. I've been mostly dead all day.
  22. The last time I cancelled Flo there was a conflict about when exactly the 'end date' of the subscription was. It was less than a 48-hour swing, but it made the difference. The first customer service rep I emailed with, was dismissive and unhelpful (which was over the weekend.) The second (on Monday) was quite helpful and cleared everything up quickly and easily. My advice is to work with the varsity customer service team at Flo during the regular work week and avoid the JV. As much as I bash Flo here, that 2nd customer service person was really good. No complaints at all.
