Also the one regular season tournament they went to last year had zero top opponents. They sent their starters to this tournament FFS lol

+1 Flo revolutionized coverage of the sport. It's cheap and you get insane access to events. There are some things they could do better, absolutely. But I swear some folks here act like they're forced at gunpoint to consume every bit of Flo content. No bro that's your choice to engage with their content. To be fair I see the same stuff on every social platform. Reddit threads about people hating Reddit, Facebook threads about people hating Facebook... people have either forgotten this stuff is 100% opt-in, or they enjoy the ranting aspect of anonymous keyboard communication. That's definitely not a problem that will get solved on a wrestling forum, lol

Eh. Family loyalty was the demise of John. Hired his nephew who influenced the Cowboy style to more of a defensive slugfest, couple years later his son stopped making weight and he let him take the post season spot from our lord and savior Chandler Rogers, and then athlete injuries kept piling on so he started rolling out a lot of backups and transitioned more into a mentor role and was less able to get the best out of his recruits. You could see it in his interviews and in the way his athletes competed. No knock on the guy, but that period of time was a distinctly different Cowboy wrestling program. Now back to AJ, the real star of the show here! lol Freshman year AJ had an aura/mystique that people dug, before the title. He was kind of a hero on campus. A little swagger and bravado was getting more eyeballs on the program. Then obv sh** went down in a lot of ways and it got gross/weird/predatory/dangerous. No idea what trouble AJ got in before college. Everything I've heard is AJ was trouble in Stilly, Anthony was trouble always. But who knows.

What do you mean? The internet as we know it barely existed the last time OSU was winning team titles. Were bandwagon fans blowing up chat rooms? Was there even wrestling media to talk about it? Genuinely curious. I grew up in Stilly and went to all the duals in this period, we were lucky to read any article in the newspaper about the wrestling team even when they were winning championships. I do agree that people like be a part of something, and they like even more to be a part of something before it is something. It's a funny thing.

Sometimes I wonder if these vocal PSU fans actually watch their wrestling team compete. The way some of them talk about it sounds like they know box scores/results and not much else. Just a long-running observation.

Are you really not aware of fraudulent activities in Republican states/cities/counties recently? It's pretty shocking, some of what has gone down. Embezzlement, voter fraud, executive overreach, cronyism... and that's just a few items recently. Right wing media doesn't report it. Or they spin it to make it not sound bad. If you want to know what's going on, you have to seek multiple viewpoints. "My side is better than your side" really doesn't help anybody, because it lets the people in power continue to accumulate power instead of working FOR us on the things we all want. We can prob all agree that our country/culture is on a bad path right now and if we keep picking at each other instead of uniting around the sh** that matters then nothing is going to change. Anyways that's my preachy take on it lol

The article doesn't pass the smell test. I followed their sources which link to a report about immigration parole for 30,000 people nationwide, not 200,000 fraudulent votes in the NYC election. There's also zero reporting on this that I can find out of right wing media mostly copy/pasting this same article, or talking about the article. This all points to it being partisan commentary designed for profit rather than a legitimate concern for the sanctity of the NYC election. Sorry to take the fun out of the rant lol

I used to think this too but then I encountered the manosphere which is a not insignificant movement of dudes encouraging each other to “take what they want” from women. So I can totally see a coach taking AJ’s side and wanting that influence around
