  1. Happy about this one! Think I stood the entire time, lol. Cowboys wrestled smart and tough to win 7/10 matches and get two upsets.
  2. Hey look another topic that’s been discussed to death and the answer is easily found with 20 seconds of Googling! Let’s gooooooooo
  3. Jack didn’t do a thing on top for almost two minutes and got no stall calls. Will stalling ever get figured out?
  4. I did and couldn't make sense of who's accusing who of what.
  5. I asked in the other thread. Nothing yet. Maybe it's okay to be left out lol
  6. Can someone explain what this is about. I am supremely confused.
  7. Names for OSUs aside, here’s a rundown on Friday’s dual between OSU and NC State. 125 Spratley #20 v. Camacho #17 133 Fix #3 v. Orine #5 141 Jamison #7 v. Jack #4 149 William #19 v. Arrington #3 157 Travis #23 v. Scott #5 165 Olejnik #2 vs.Fields #18 174 Thompson #28 v. Faison #31 184 Plott #3 v. Fishback #5 197 Surber? #12 v. Hidlay #4 285Doucet #11 v. Trephan #16 Rankings are by Intermat. Just based on rankings alone it is a 5/5 split. It is in NC and it may come down to bonus pts. As an OSU fan I’m nervous about this one but hopefully our guys rise to the occasion and get some upsets.
  8. Or any other college wrestling program, seems like. to be fair I haven’t even seen evidence that NC State is no tolerance dry besides people saying “I think NC State is dry” on forums.
  9. Any proof (lol, dad joke) that that’s actually true? I haven’t heard of anybody else being a candidate for Coleman’s position but who knows.
  10. I’m trying to imagine any Ferrari not acting up in the room or playing by their own rules… it’s not working lol
  11. Bro's shadowboxing up in here. Might be time to put the phone/tablet/computer down and go outside lol
  12. Totally, he's no slouch. But there is a price to pay - he's a known creep on campus and could very well negatively impact other Iowa wrestlers' performances.
  13. I don't see what the fuss about them is anymore. AJ could probably make All American status, but in the day of the portal and NIL why take on the risk of blowing up your wrestling room with a known liability when you can just try to nab a high end transfer? Angelo is probably All American material potentially competing for a title as well, but you never know as he's still in high school. Anthony on the other hand doesn't seem like he could make the podium. I get that they're a package deal but they're certainly not the second coming that everyone thought they might be a couple of years ago.
  14. All he's learned is that he can get rewarded for bad behavior. Since winning the title in 2021 he's been a whirlwind of nonsense, and some of it is intentionally dangerous to others. I wouldn't expect that to suddenly change.
  15. Wow yall are really over the place. Keep on arguing about the “right” way to define an omnipotent creator lol
  16. Pokes fan here watching year 3 of rebuilding. Sigh lol. Freshmen stressing me out a bit. On the flip side Plott is an absolute animal and it’s been a joy to watch him grow. And the young guys should get there too. Nice to see Cael Hughes for the first time, and Brayden is a stingy dude as well. note for attending duals in Wyoming. Pay the extra ten bucks for matside seats. Looked epic down there. As a bonus you won’t have Wyoming fans in your ear calling for stalling on the opponent literally as their guy is getting put in a pinning combination, lol
  17. Not a concern that someone enters the workforce at 26 instead of 22. They don't get any more chances man. Jamill Kelly is a guy that wasn't an NCAA champ but really grew after college and medaled at the Olympics. I'd be more concerned about wear and tear on the body. But yes, always good to build work experience while you do other things - whether it's senior level wrestling, college classes, high school, whatever.
  18. It's just funky. Two extreme examples. Clay Carlson has no matches and is ranked #7. Chris Cannon has zero wins and one loss and is also ranked #7. Why should those guys wrestle any matches this year when they could duck everything and go into NCAAs seeded in the top ten?
  19. Yeah what’s with this. Other teams don’t cut weight? Or OSUs weight cuts just get talked about more.
  20. Why bother having a season? Just do one tournament in March. Tongue in cheek of course but it’s also the direction things are going.
  21. I agree as this is what I'm used to from being a fan in the 90s and 00s. At least 20 matches per guy barring injury. These days for better or worse it's a strategy to rest your guys until the end of the season, win big at NCAAs, and then preserve your high rankings in the following season by resting your guys while letting others knock each other off the top spots, etc. This is where I like the idea of a pre-season tournament to establish rankings... new season, new rankings. It'll never happen but interesting to think about. Is there not already a minimum match or minimum win requirement to go to NCAAs?
  22. Well that's entirely too simple. Thanks
  23. It was an offhand comment during a media interview. Not really something to read too deep into. OKState coaches tend to lean away from PC talk, lol Crookham is fast though. And strong. So we'll see - maybe John is definitely not one to duck his wrestlers. If he did, though, I think we know who to thank for setting the precedent of avoiding tough matches until the end of the season
