When was the last time Yianni competed at 125?

Quoting Wrestlestat for accuracy is akin to using Wiki as a reference for a research paper.

No worries... David Carr has been at 165 all season. Quincy Monday made a mid-season jump, not Carr.
-
Got it. Thanks for the clarification.
-
If you're gonna give Carr credit for being 4-0 at 157, give Humphreys credit for being 1-0 at 165 (even though both he and his opponent weighed in at 157 before bumping up).

Me as well. I just followed Vak's lead during the draft last year. I also didn't understand the wildcard during the draft. I thought the WC would replace your lowest scoring guy. Didn't realize that all eleven (ten weights + WC) would count toward my total score.

$25 to cover food at McD's. Wondering what he can get for the other $25?

As Vak mentioned, we conducted the draft using a 'snake' selection order. I created a Spreadsheet using Google Docs, where we made selections real-time by cutting and pasting our selections from the tournament field into our respective slots. Everyone selects someone for each weight class, plus a Wildcard selection. All eleven count toward the final score. (as a side note, ShakaAloha picked both finalists at 197 last year - as Dean was his pick & Warner was his Wildcard) Zak prompted folks when it was their turn to pick. People then made picks in one of three different ways: Using the "chat" aspect of the Google Doc to make a selection & then I moved the wrestler to the corresponding slot on the selection board. We had an active thread on TheMat forum where people made picks & I populated the selection board. This was the slower way to process picks, as we each had to constantly refresh the forum thread. Folks who were more comfortable with Copy-Paste on a spreadsheet made selections themselves. It was really easy to follow if you use two monitors: one for the Google Docs & one for the forum thread. If you don't have two, I'd recommend following action in the Google Doc. I created Gmail accounts for everyone to turn it around quicker, but I can give access if you forward your email to me following registration (payment) with Zak. Following each session, I downloaded tourney scoring by individual wrestler from TrackWrestling and published updates (usually within an hour of session end time). Here's a snapshot of last year's draft board:

Not Sports Illustrated per se. This is an article from an author who writes for a Penn State instance for SI. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Does U of Illinois think 3rd place is a finalist?

Perhaps they are including ‘consolation finals’ in their definition of a finalist? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -

I still have the Gmail addresses for those who took part last year. I believe I sent login info (email & initial password) to everyone via PM on the old forum. I can send Gmail addresses to everyone again, but I didn't keep a record of the initial passwords. Entry fee last year was $20 via Venmo. I'll leave it to Vak to set rates and guidelines for this year's event. I suggest folks pay Vak & send me their Gmail address. I'll add give them access to the doc for the draft. If you need help setting up a Gmail account, PM me and I'll create one & return PM you the login info. Once Vak has the final list of participants, I can set everything up for the draft & I can track/publish results after each session.

Just managed to find my session-by-session tracking files. We had nine participants. I still have the source file used for the draft in my Google Docs.

I took part and built the Google Doc to conduct the draft. Recall that I created gmail logins for everyone. As an example Val’s gmail account was vak.ncaa@gmail.com. I can set it up again once the field is set. I’ll need to dig through history to recreate. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

No brackets. Best I can find is a press release with results from the finals... Lebe, Brenner Claim Titles at WVU Open By Scott Castleman WVU Sports Information Office November 12, 2005 MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - The West Virginia University wrestling team’s Matt Lebe and Kurt Brenner bagged individual titles at the 24th annual WVU Open on Saturday, Nov. 12, in the Shell Building, while three others finished as runners-up. Lebe (157 pounds), a Jeannette, Pa., native, won his third WVU Open championship by knocking off Old Dominion’s Chris Brown, 6-4, in the finals. Brenner (174), a Freedom, Pa., native, won his first championship at the tournament when he downed his teammate Chance Litton, 3-2, in the finals. Besides Litton, Mountaineers Kyle Turnbull (125) and Brandon Rader (141) also made the finals before taking a loss. Turnbull, a Morgantown, W.Va., native, chose not to compete in the finals after suffering a slight injury earlier in the tournament, taking the medical forfeit. Rader, a Parkersburg, W.Va., native, fell to Virginia Tech’s Dave Hoffman, 7-5, in the finals. Virginia Tech wrestlers claimed most individual titles as Justin Staylor (125), Dave Hoffman (141) and Steve Borja (184). Also winning championships were Josh Keefe (133), Lehigh’s Trevor Chinn (149), Cornell’s Steve Anceravage (165) and Maryland’s Hudson Taylor (197). The Mountaineers next competition comes on Saturday, Nov. 19, when the team heads to Annapolis, Md., to participate in the Navy Classic. Colin Kilrain (NQ-3-3-3) for sure. You're probably referring to Mike Brown (5-3-2-7) as the other. An argument could be made for 5x EIWA champ Jordan Wood, but he was never really a title contender.

Streebler had two strikes against him from a PA fan’s perspective: his first “title” had already screwed a highly respected PA product (JO) out of becoming a 3x champ; as a Senior, he posed one of the biggest threats (along w Mitchell Port) to Zain’s title chase. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Nope, but the same number of team points. Superior decisions (12 point differential) score 5 team points. Team scoring at that time also gave each team 2 points for a draw.

Nebraska has always included Burroughs losses the year he took a medical. I've posted this several times on the old board when reminding folks that Streebler took the semi-slide in Vegas during his first freshman season. https://huskers.com/sports/wrestling/roster/jordan-burroughs/5990 tOSU changed their reporting methodology sometime during Streebler's final season. His roster bio included the CKLV losses, but their current media guides do not. https://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-wrestl/roster/season/2014-15/logan-stieber/

They update the records on the brackets as the tournament progresses. The record you see is their final record. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
