  1. Cael said in the off-season that Robbie will get all his eligibility back and still has 4 years , so idk if that’s Cael just knowing the system or if they received conformation or what but Cael isn’t known for just randomly spouting bs so I’ll take him at his word
  2. Lol I was in the building for that , it was pretty corny thing to do
  3. In all fairness , howard dealt with injuries , I don’t remember those guys being hurt, he’s more on the Micheal Kemerer 7 year plan
  4. Indeed it’s a unique situation, at least he was young when he arrived at college (17/18) and not like Chittum whose like 22 already
  5. Sir I can assure you I used lock correctly , as in if his shoulder is good and he doesn’t reinjure it then he’s a lock to AA , I think it’s a sure thing he’s on podium if healthy
  6. His only year wrestling was the 2020 Covid shortened season, which was a free year , he used his redshirt the next season then medical redshirt after , he has 4 years of eligibility left
  7. Robbie howard is still considered a Redshirt Freshman and will be 125 for penn state , if he’s fully recovered it’s a lock he ll AA
  8. Not surprised to see Cornell has locked down all wealthy white people sports
  9. Ok i love micahs game but the man has a lot of work to do to be the “best player in the nfl” as he’s not even the best defensive player in the NFL …but James Franklin mentioned last week talking about parsons that he was the biggest supporter of the wrestling program in the whole school, went to every single home match , and asked Cael if he could join the team when football season was over at one point….Franklin shut that down Bo came out in an interview a few years back and said he wrestled with Parsons during college and that he was legit , he just didn’t have the stamina but for that 1 minute he was as tough as anyone Bo wrestled I get your point but I don’t think not having enough youth wrestlers is the problem , I think it’s retention that’s the issue ..every year where I’m from (North Jersey) our youth program is stacked ,60-100 kids on any given year , most starting young 6-9 but by the time they hit high school the numbers really thin out for a multitude of reasons , the biggest being this flawed concept kids should only focus on one sport , a lot of personal trainers , club team coaches for all sports put that thought in parents heads and a lot of the time wrestling is the sport that gets ditched , when in reality wrestling is going to help you at least say in superior shape for the other seasons Irvington High school ( inner city school next to Newark) implemented an interesting policy a few years back , the football team was on the rise and the new head football coach (former wrestler) made a policy that if u want to play football for Irvington you need to wrestle for at least one year (exceptions for the star basketball players) and the policy worked great , it helped the football team and the wrestling numbers and team success went way up ,( the graduation rates went way up for athletes and they had alot less off the mat issues, as Irvington is a high crime and gang area ) with in a few years you started to see them with all these state qualifers at the upper weights , 15 years ago you wouldn’t even know they had a team …obviously Covid and “online schooling” messed up alot , especially in the inner cities and irvington struggled the past 2 years with a multitude of issues , most of which brought on by outsider interference (govt. and unions) but this policy definitely worked , it brought more big time athletes to sport, kept alot of young men out of trouble and off the corners , I wish more inner city schools would look to Irvington as a blueprint bc it’s helps the sports and the kids
  10. I don’t think Garland leaves he’s A Virginia guy , I don’t know if Nickerson would leave for a place it’ll be harder to recruit at , plus he’s just finally building northern Colorado up
  11. Damian Covington was a state champ from Overbrook HS in NJ , same hs as Ron dayne , he beat at the time immortal Pat Lynch who was 2x returning State champ who was on a 99 match win streak ( lynch was a multiple time AA for ASU), beat him twice in 2 weeks then played football at nc state but his JR year Sylvester Terkay was injured for nc state and the coach asked Covington to filled in and in 3 matches he went 3-0 all while practicing for a bowl game, he then was a 3rd rd pick for the bills, having 3 good years before tragically being murdered in a robbery at his cousins apartment back in NJ , he was home to rehab a knee injury , guys is a south jersey legend … also Josh hokit recently from Fresno state was on the 49ers for a bit
  12. Tough break for Duke he was far and away the best guy on the team and also what a great story neisenbaum had , went from 3-21 as a freshman to 25-6 last season
  13. It’s going to be a long year for the blue devils and who the hell knows what happens when the ACC inevitably implodes
  14. Looking at dukes roster on wrestlestat, they only have 2 seniors , both with limited to no starting experience and the best 2 returning guys were 8-13 and 12-17 last year and they have one intriguing prospect , Aiden Wallace from Bergen catholic but it looks like he’s redshirting …it’s going to be a very long year for duke , they were the 80th dual team out of 80 last year and it’s looking like more of the same
  15. Wow I thought they’d join the SoCon
  16. No not saying heinselman is a bad lose but the loses last year to the Utah valley guy and Gonzales Ohio states back up/3rd stringer give me pause when matching up his potential this year to a healthy Robbie Howard who was the first American to make 3 cadet teams and has been learning in the best room in the world the past 3 years
  17. Also all of Howard’s results are as true freshman during the Covid pandemic and coming off of arthroscopic surgery on his shoulder so he didn’t train that whole summer prior , not to mention he was young and had just turned 18 after he got to college , mchenry results are spread out over 3 years of being in one the best rooms in the country and he was still losing to back ups last season
  18. I read your response , I’m just disagreeing with you , My argument was I think it’s more difficult to give up 50-60 pounds then 10-12 an undersized 125 may give up
  19. I would argue giving up 60 pounds to a man that’s 275 is more difficult to handle than being 120 and wrestling someone that’s 130
  20. Kyle Snyder won 3 ncaa titles wrestling guys 40-60 pounds more then him, Bernie traux weighed 184 the day he took 4th at 197 , wrestling guys definitely weighing in the 200s
  21. Idk if it’s a big if, he finally had the surgery he put off for years then had over a full year to recover , he’s also a 3 time cadet world team member and world champ , and a top 15 ish recruit to penn state idk see how McHenry is the better wrestler by any standard Mchenry lost to Ohio states 3rd stringer and Utah valleys starter last season
  22. Idk he seemed pretty beat up physically last year and this is his 6th straight year competing? And he transferred, history says no , but if his body’s right I’d give him a shot at 125 it seems pretty open
  23. Howard did more then mchenry in one season with one arm lol if Howard stays healthy he’s top 4 this year and has a legit shot at winning it
