If psu wrestled a full season of competition like all the other top programs, things would probably be more interesting. Instead, they train for half the season and scout their future opponents who are actually out there competing.
I’m about 20 years older than you. It wasn’t typical when I was in hs and it usually meant that you had been held back for academic deficiencies. But I’m starting to not doubt what you’re saying. I guess starting your kids a year later than normal so they will have an edge on their peers physically and/or intellectually and emotionally is becoming normalized. Seems like cheating to me and something that should be shamed .
I started my sophomore year of college 19. That was typical.
Normally you’re 17 when starting your senior year of hs, not college as you erroneously stated
Ok , how about this. It’s typical to be 19 during part of (at least) your sophomore year of college. It is not typical to be 19 years old and still in high school.
This started over the weekend. I think some are new posters ... they’re coming over from the psu forum. Bandwagon jumpers that couldn’t stand that all attention was on the national duals, and not their latest favorite team
That’s just how leduke talks. Penn state guys don’t beat opponents, they “eat them alive,” “curb stomp them,” “pistol whip them,” etc … I think he might be a ten year old kid,
Last year, Ohio State was ranked 5th preseason, coaches poll, and finished 5th. That’s as far back as my memory goes, but I’m guessing that this idea of yours is wrong, given they usually are, historically
Right on Jimmy! Psu needs to quit dodging competition for half of the season, take some bumps and bruises like everybody else, and go into March on a level playing field
Why not just take it a tiny step further than the psu way and eliminate out of conference wrestling altogether in nov-dec and start the season in Jan ?Screw the fans and the wrestlers that love to compete
Yeah, I read all that on the psu forum already. Don’t try to pawn it off as your own here.
maybe if psu wrestles a full schedule like other top teams, and takes the normal wear and tear of a full season things would be more interesting in March
