  1. Can you provide some other examples where "we do this all the time in society"? I know it happens, the closest I can think of is maybe memorabilia, but I'm not sure if it happens "all the time," at least not to this extent where people are paying many times more than what the overwhelming majority of people would pay for something. Some would probably argue real estate but I'd disagree with that except for maybe a few exceptions.
  2. Basically the NCAA's whole argument previously was that more of the value is in the name of the school, not the specific players. By having these offers illegally tied to attendance at a certain school, they are pretty much being proven correct.
  3. I haven't watched today's yet but he has a point. I think in the past he's been in favor of athletes earning money from brands/companies etc. based off actually doing advertisements, etc. for them. But he's against "collectives" and whatnot just handing out cash for going to a certain school. Yes, you can make the argument that an NIL deal is worth "what someone is willing to pay," but in reality, 4th & 5th place finishers are not bringing in $200k+ of revenue or whatever the rumors have been. I think his follow up point is usually that after a few years and they realize they're not getting much return, that the money could dry up.
  4. Looks like there is no expiration date on being an age level world medalist https://www.teamusa.org/-/media/USA_Wrestling/PDF-Files/2024-Olympic-Redshirt-Criteria.pdf
  5. Is there any expiration date on the qualifying result, assuming he hasn’t done something recent to qualify as well?
  6. Just talking about wrestling here?
  7. There was one episode where they were talking about J’Den Cox being married to Whitney Conder. I forget exactly what they said now but definitely a little cringey. I do enjoy their wrestling talk though.
  8. OK after looking closer at the math I think you’re right that Iowa is likely above Michigan now, although they probably match up a little better with them in a dual than the tourney
  9. Thanks. So what’s the difference between those?
  10. Based on my limited understanding of freestyle, this seems like a fair interpretation. Semi-related question (for anyone), what is the difference between just a “caution” (I’m pretty sure that’s a thing?) and a “caution+1”?
  11. Would he still be able to compete at Worlds?
  12. Maybe he loses to Gilman in the room?
  13. Where do you find the projected place and bonus points? I just see the 65
  14. Yeah. This is what I saw, I guess referring to a different sport’s forum on HR: https://iowa.forums.rivals.com/threads/hwc-wrestlers-competed-at-matteo-pellicone.420626/#post-11257476
  15. It’s not based off of their “ratings”?
  16. Possible. Maybe there’s a bigger competition for 2nd than I thought. Interestingly wrestlestat has Michigan #7 and Iowa #8, but #2 (Nebraska) and #8 are only separated by about 10 points. They do already have Franek and Caliendo on Iowa, but currently have Caliendo as a backup.
  17. Bloodround is definitely explicit for sure, and have some not so politically correct convos. I recently stumbled across these guys on YouTube who aren’t bad, can’t remember the amount of cursing: Cayden Henschel’s new podcast (mostly interviews) isn’t bad either
  18. I think they’re a pretty solid 3rd after adding Caliendo and Franek, but I’d still take Michigan over them for 2nd. If they add AJ they probably pass Michigan. And still likely only win a match or 2 against PSU…
  19. The only name I saw mentioned on HR, still speculation of course, was Assad. So that could make Brands moving up make more sense
  20. I'd have to assume Siebrecht cuts back down to 149 now to try to battle for that spot too?
  21. OK I do see that now. Hopefully it’s in the next 24 days or so lol
  22. I do agree. Several are on YouTube. I typically subscribe for 1-2 months a year then catch up on all the new ones at that time. I did subscribe for Final X and hadn’t seen the Eloy Boys, No Sad Stories with Dunia Sibomana, or episode 2 of Young Bucks…was expecting “a season with them” to be longer than 2 episodes though and go past the Michigan State open, unless maybe the rest haven’t been released yet.
  23. I was watching some of the Youtube replay of the Women's Freestyle, and got a chuckle out of how they had commercials for some of the FloFilms. One was the Helen Maroulis: Girls Can't Wrestle, which said "premieres April 12th." It was released in 2020.
  24. I don't remember the exact timeline of the publicity of that (I have watched some documentaries about it though), but it also might depend on how you're defining "the case." There was an article about coverup of sexual abuse in general at USAG but I believe not naming Nassar, in August 2016. Then the story about Nassar didn't come out until over a month later. Nonetheless, it's now multiple times I've seen that posters have compared this case to Nassar's. Considering the extent of his crimes those are some bold claims. I really hope that's not the case.
