  1. Are you related to Steely Dan?
  2. When are the results final? As of now it should be stopped by tech fall via Penrith era rules.
  3. Hoch would be a great pick as an Assistant. I think he is in Pleasant Grove running his club.
  4. Adam Hall would be the pick there IMO... he is young, from Idaho for recruiting purposes and has gotten some good experience at NCST. Chris has done a phenomenal job at the director for USA Idaho and you see it in the national results of Cadets and Juniors, however he is getting a little older (no offense). Chamberlain is now an Engineer, so I am not sure he would be lured back - but everyone has good things to say about him as a coach. All 3 obviously with the BSU ties.
  5. Not that it's a huge factor, but the cost of living between those two cities is pretty significant, especially in terms of housing.
  6. They are a different person.
  7. Let's go with that.
  8. Since you mentioned Ban, who set you straight several times without having set you straight on this your first thread and posts, what was your previous name on the board?
  9. Teemer 157 - McLane 165
  10. I loved him in Smokey and the Bandit.
  11. Can't argue with some good MH
  12. Do you always make up arguments for things people don't post? You had a good potential once.
  13. Better than the @mspart? The man's got heart.

  15. You mean the same length as almost every other college wrestler?
  16. You have also set yourself up for some nice rebuttals when your posts fall flat. No pressure.
  17. That would definitely be a better option than dropping altogether. The people at Bakersfield seem like hard working good people.... I am sure they are working twice as hard with the conference stuff that's going on. It's good to see Stephen Neal still working to support that program.
  18. There are more women's teams at OSU.... which related to that, creates somewhat of a reverse scenario to try to add women's wrestling. Being an avid OSU fan and supporter, I appreciate that. I think the program is in a good spot right now to weather the conference storm. If there are any legitimate concerns about the program, the board will hear about it .
  19. Served in so many ways .... mashed, scalloped, fries, baked, fried up with onions... and they go perfectly with anything meat you want to smoke.
  20. Wrestlestat showing Yas redshirting this year - which make sense, Negron up at 174. Has Schultz decided what he is doing this year? Will be just come in at the end and score some points for the team?
  21. Yes, I agree - they will have some budget challenges going into next season, but even that's up in the air with the crazy conference world we live in now. Fundraising has been pretty decent at Oregon State so that will become more of a focus with the affect on the budget. With Bakersfield, you are correct in that the incoming money - or lack of - does not change in that aspect. The concern would be that changing conferences could add to their expenses significantly. If you look at their schedule most of it is contained to the West with tournaments and Pac 12 conference duals. They had the southern scuffle and then wrestled three duals all at the same location in NC - which is smart on their part. Those were the only two significant travel dates. The closest geographical conference would be the B12. With the fact that everything is more expensive now and adding travel costs, Bakersfield has an uphill battle in what was already an uphill battle. One thing they could have going for them in a change, is that I believe there is a clause for new teams entering that they can limit the conference schedule. If that be the case, then they could keep their mostly western schedule. Another question would be if other conferences would take them in - I would hope they would. It's a tough battle to have to completely fund a program. I can't imagine the energy it takes to run the program and self fund it.
  22. Nope. You have to have 16 teams to stay at the D1 FBS level. Oregon state has 16. They cannot drop a sport. They have a large endowment and the university is very supportive of the program. It’s not going anywhere. if a team drops it will be Bakersfield which would be terrible.

Pretty reasonable unless they had someone out of the blue that would have shocked everyone (pun intended).

Probably the best move at the time. If someone else would have been hired (not Koll) was UNC's condition of hiring to keep Ramos on staff? Seems like they were committed to him no matter the HC hire. Of course, there may have not been talks with anyone else.
