Yeah I wouldn't disagree with that. Depending on the major program, I think you are correct that most have their guys already. He would be a nice addition to a mid-major as you mentioned. Of course we know he will be poached if he has success at UTC or another school.

A true freshman, 4-3 against qualifiers, with a redshirt available and 3 years eligibility, is a good pick up for someone.

I only see one portal opening for wrestling. They also changed it so that grad transfers have to also enter the portal by the date. In a few recent articles and a recent interview with Coach Pendleton on Flo, the Pac-12 will get an automatic allocation waiver for the next season and most likely a second season as well. The champions will automatically qualify and all others go into the at-large pool. Thankfully OSU is wrestling a very good and tough schedule next season to get in a better position for at-large births. Coach Pendleton mentioned that OSU had the opportunity to go to the Big 12 (although he says Pac 12 by accident) but decided to stay and use the two years to build the conference into 8 -10 teams to establish a West coast conference. He also mentions that there are teams that are interested in joining them. As I (and others) have said for a long time - the Pac-12 should be a conference filled with the Western teams. Haha....it really doesn't really mean much to your argument. He did his damage for 3 1/2 years and they protected him. Their job is done and completed. Now they have to abandon him and put the pressure on for him to drop out because they know if he doesn't he will lose the election.

100%.... probably would have resulted in the same outcome either way, which is might be why he posted it. "Suspending his Texas leadership membership" .... What does that even mean? He can't be a leader of some sorts at a tournament? He can change his title to simple "owner" of his club, remove his name from "leadership" and keep doing what he is doing?
