  1. Thanks for the update - was wondering how it went.
  2. Definitely... Lowney was very athletic - Great competitor!
  3. Schultz has definitely used his greco skills to an advantage in folkstyle. WIth his size and upper body positions he has been able to neutralize and shut down some guys. It's definitely an advantage with heavy.
  4. ASu twitter announced he is now a class of 2023 recruit rather than a class of 2022 recruit. He took a gap year for some reason.
  5. Oh man... that's serious business. Prayers!.
  6. Definitely more success if you are a heavyweight - Cadet and Juinor Greco World Champs since 2000 - Jacob Folsom , Cohlton Schultz , Garrett Lowney, Kamal Bey, He made it clear when he announced that he was taking a gap year and his focus would be training to make the 2024 Greco Olympic team. One of the main reasons he chose Michigan was because of his greco training.
  7. For public school reffing there is typically a certification which means some training courses and a background check. They usually start you off on middle school duals then move you up with experience and good reviews. Since middle school is usually a little different than the high school season (usually a little overlap) you can get in on both middle school and high school season - at least in the area where I am.
  8. Teams are posting their signings today... any flips? or flops?
  9. He's going to be a good one.
  10. Cleveland Belton Oregon State https://osubeavers.com/news/2022/11/8/wrestling-belton-tabbed-pac-12-wrestler-of-the-week
  11. Thanks @nhs67 - Whenever we see tragedy in the wrestling family, people always step up. Much appreciated. The sister team of Oregon State Wrestling is volleyball. They have come to support each other and it's great to see some of the players donating to Mateo as well. So a shoutout to OSU volleyball.
  12. Minnow posted Tuesday morning...Willie started this thread Tuesday afternoon...I am assuming Willie checked the validity of the news before he posted here so I am going with that confirmation that he has a pec tear and could miss the season.
  13. I wanted to put this out there to the Intermat wrestling family. Oregon State 174lber Mateo Olmos lost his father unexpectedly. Mateo is a great young man and has been part of OSU wrestling for 5 years. Prayers and support to the Olmos family. https://www.gofundme.com/f/mario-olmos?utm_source=customer&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_campaign=p_cf share-flow-1&fbclid=IwAR2JoH5GWo_lnZWfU7KqSvTXYOvBVxuZ6-l8kPDp0J4z7A8JlQJqVsk5URg
  14. Didn't know Deen had transferred to CSUB. Interested to see how some of the freshman do.
  15. You pretty much explained everything in life.
  16. For myself, I didn't buy Flo for Track stuff.... I bought Flo for Flo and Track was the added on bonus. If someone bought Flo for Track stuff then I am guessing they knew what they were doing since it's been around for awhile. I do agree it could be updated from the fan side- seems like the timeout could be an easy fix.
  17. There are two ways to look at it...... from the user perspective of running a tournament and from the fan perspective of watching a tournament. I agree that it could be updated from the fan side, but if you have ever had to actually use the software to run a tournament it is very user friendly.
  18. We use real chainsaws and a bluetooth speaker.
  19. Exactly - very user friendly when working with volunteers at a tournament. It was only a matter of time before it was paywalled...they probably should have done it a long time ago. Even $50 is very cheap for a team to run their season.
  20. Pretty decent dual for the first go of the season. A few names missing on both sides. I like this dual because of the connections between OSUw and Lehigh. Belton beat Hines... He looks much more offensive than he did at ASU - probably a good change of scenery for him. Humphrey's top game is legit and will win him some matches against top guys.... he flat out mauls guys ie....Santoro Olguin looks to have jumped a level - last year he lost 2x to Meyer, beat him at NCAA... came out on fire and majored him. Munoz widened the gap with Samuelson Not a bad outing for The Lumberjack Harvey... hasn't been on the mat since March 2020 and had a chance to tie it in the 3rd but goes down 9-5. Beard looked tough on top in the first round. Taylor has some potential at 285...BIG kid ... working out with Rey and Wood is going to get him far.
  21. He will, but it won't come down to 1 wrestle-off. I'm guessing that they will use a few different guys in duals and take more than one to tournaments to see how it all shakes out.
  22. Then gone again... mysterious guy.
  23. I'm guessing that if true, the schools will pay the $50 fee... just like tournament fees, score keepers, refs, etc. If it's required they will cover the cost. And I am guessing they are already aware of this. 25 bags of popcorn should cover it.
