  1. Shrunk never should have committed to PSU if he was looking to start somewhere multiple years. I agree about Mes, and maybe this is me being a hater like you say- These guys are going to have 1 good year at a mid-tier school then look for a pay day. Writing is on the wall. Don'r care about these kids making money, but I feel for these school who can get by with 1-2 slid wrestlers and then they plummet due to those guys leaving. Good conversation though. We will see how it all plays out. I'm gonna go back to disagreeing with Jimmy Cin.
  2. Facundo could still start next season, mediocre example, so 1 time a guy recruited over which isn't common. Iowa and Michigan repeat offenders. Many of the guys transferring are 1 year rentals. Coaches aren't doing much recruiting here, the money is. Lamer didn't want to be part of a 5th place team this year, best of luck to him, hope other Michigan guys follow suit, already 2 in the last 3 days.
  3. Michigan, Penn St, Iowa. So I wouldn't say "multiple". Penn St is different from the 2 because they just get stronger. Most commits know you are going to Penn St to be a 3-4 year starter or a career practice guy. Michigan and Iowa don't consistently bring in 3 or 4 top ten recruits, so everyone's starting spot is always in jeopardy, loyalty does not matter to them.
  4. Michigan not staying loyal to the early/true commitments. Transfer portal team now.
  5. There goes my appetite.
  6. Cleveland did a great job when they hosted.
  7. Prepping to be the next big collegiate head coach.
  8. Wait, was this thread originally made to bash Lee?
  9. I...... BUT..... Ugh. Touche my friend.
  10. A positive for Hepner and the Buckeyes i'd say. Joseph could win it all.
  11. Awesome breakdown, thanks for sharing this thread. Had no idea Snyder had 4 career losses. Thought it was like 2, but my brain doesn't feel like working at the moment.
  12. A group of buddies and myself get together at local watering hole every year to watch the finals together. Before that first whistle on day 1 hits we are all equally as excited for the team race as we are for individual match ups. Unfortunately the last couple years have lost some luster regarding the team race but I know it's still on even ground for all of us, and it's quite a large group of former wrestlers both high school and college level.
  13. Cael currently in talks with Henry Cejudo.
  14. You're right, for me personally I like the team race aspect above a lot of things, the team race could be over sometime through the quarters it feels like. This takes a lot of luster out of watching for me. Again, I can't hate on Penn St, I just think the transfer portal/NIL is going to change the landscape. People always talk about expand college wrestling/ grow the sport/ etc. This portal & NIL money appear to be doing the exact opposite.
  15. I think it's the constant inconsistencies, and he's so active on several social media platforms its hard to avoid him, unless you hit the ole block button. Often, times you still can't avoid the guy. HE comes off as pompous and not remiss for when he is wrong. (Which is often)
  16. People just need to cancel this guy. Everyone all at once. HE STINKS.
  17. I’m not anti Penn St, but I’m finding it very hard to get motivated to keep watching college wrestling. It’s going to be a bloodbath the next 3+ years. Congrats to Cael and crew but man, it’s hard to remain optimistic.
  18. If Ohio St brought Messenbrink in I would be ecstatic. This is because OSU can use an upgrade at 157/165/175 whereever Messenbrink goes (don't want to debate that) and Ohio St is on the cusp on being a top 3 team for years to come, IMO. But if I heard they paid Messenbink $100K+ I would scratch my head a little bit. Maybe im more reluctant than others giving a college kid that much money. BUT, if the gap was closer between Ohio St and Penn St I would probably be more of a fan of it, but unfortunately bringing in Messenbrink wouldn't surpass PSU. I am all for transfers and the portal, I just need to get used to this new NIL stuff and accept the fact that the money will do most of the talking moving forward.
  19. I have no idea how much money Angelo Ferrari is looking at to receive in terms of his recruitment. I would be surprised if Iowa gives $100K+ to Nagao just to out bid Penn St. When he does officially transfer and where, I would have strong interest in how much he received by said school. Who knows maybe he is going somewhere he just has interest in and there isn't alot of NIL dough on the table. We will see. Of course they should compete with PSU but is throwing around big money (as reported) the smart way to do it when you have zero chance at beating them next year?
  20. My man, I am the last person to believe Minnow but I share your sentiments. I just can't wrap my head around Iowa throwing large money to a guy when they may not even finish in the top 3. ( If this is all true) and they have a solid wrestler in Teske. If Nagao goes to Iowa cool, I just don't know why Iowa would throw $$$ his way. Maybe they really need that top 4 finish and it's worth the investment.
  21. Lots of money to use to try and buy a 2nd place finish. That's still not guaranteed. Gotta feel a bit for Teske.
