  1. He was basically saying that he was no more injured than he has been all year. The loss to Ramos was not attributed to some unknown or unforeseen injury that occurred between B10's and nationals. He has been wrestling injured all year (most of his career really) and has not even been able to run or condition due to the short recovery time from a double ACL surgery. The risk/reward analysis for him to wrestle back to 3rd place put more risk on his body than potential reward. Notice him saying that he has not wrestled yet since the NCAA's but would like to wrestle at the US Open. If we see him at the Open, its likely that we see him with no real training whatsoever.
  2. I think he is talking about Stillwater High.
  3. Damion Hahn was at $180,000 last year.
  4. There is no "norm" for the amount of eligibility that guys are getting now because of the covid year.
  5. All these guys graduated with their undergrad degrees....
  6. I went to Tulsa for the Big 12's and thought that the BOK was a good venue to watch wrestling. Tulsa was an easy place to drive. The traffic was not bad at all. As mentioned by some, the Cherry Street Kitchen was delicious. Downtown Tulsa near the BOK did seem like a bit of a ghost town, which was a little strange. There are areas just outside of downtown that are nice with restaurants and shops but not a ton downtown near the BOK. Overall, I thought it was a good experience and would go back. I was able to drive in/out of Tulsa so did not have to deal with expensive flights.
  7. The main problem with moving to a 3 point takedown is that the crowd cannot scream TWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!
  8. Minnow is still definitely blocking anyone that poses a view counter to what he has a lot of the time. My buddy just got his post deleted and got blocked because he called Minnow out on some crap when he was going in on high school kids and being divisive. Hopefully he continues to improve and get thicker skin. The Wrestling Room has the ability to be a great thing for the wrestling community and it about 80% of the way there. Pat just needs to figure out if he is a member of wrestling media or if he is a guy that wants to troll.
  9. Yes, mizzou is great
  10. I would guess he is talking about Anthony Santaniello. A very good wrestler but is ranked #9 at his weight class nationally so not a top P4P guy currently.
  11. I tend to agree with this. Dude was a hammer and always looking to score and pin.
  12. 2x Champ. I don’t think he surrendered a takedown in his senior season either.
  13. Got it. Move Rosholt to 197 and plug in Chris Barnes at 184.
  14. Didn’t Rosholt win a title at 197 also? Could you slot him into 197 and then have a different 184?
  15. Well then this is a silly conversation to begin with. Just pick all the recent guys to win and move on.
  16. I’m not convinced that Lewis isn’t first team. He’s an Olympic champion and would likely be 3x ncaa champion if not for an elbow dislocation.
  17. Not necessarily. The hypothetical is that Gable was innovative for his time and pumped out world class wrestlers with his style/training. He was the tip of the spear. In the same way, Cael has evolved and changed game to pump out world class wrestlers. His style is much different than Gable but the common theme between the two is the innovation that they displayed to separate themselves from the field. High achievers like Gable and Cael are adaptable and will find a way to win regardless of their circumstances. If you think Dan Gable would try to win today on toughness and grit alone, you are selling him very very short.
  18. The only way to judge these type of cross generation debates is to compare results against their contemporaries. While a middling wrestler nowadays might destroy a champion wrestler of yesteryear, you have to take a nuanced look and think that the champion wrestler of the pst would evolve if placed in the present day.
  19. Didn’t Campbell go a long time without suffering a takedown?
  20. Gonna have to disagree with this pretty strongly. Dake is one of the P4P best wrestlers in the world right now and Starocci has already lost to Chance once.
  21. Wait, I thought you said Ragusin was not a big 133?
  22. Wait, I thought you said Ragusin was not a big 133?
  23. Wow, that young man has been through a lot in the last couple of weeks. We will be praying for improved condition and recovery.
  24. Depends on when a kid burns out in my opinion. If you are taking about high school/college aged kids then sure. But when you are taking about very young kids training year round and cutting weight then burn out is real and easily avoidable through moderation. Watch the Keegan O’Toole documentary on Flo
