  1. Iowa wrestlers have also got Carvered. Kem talked about one of his first big matches (I think ISU vs Iowa at Carver) having a big adrenaline dump.
  2. I can confirm that wrestling is more fun when you are winning.
  3. With having absolutely zero inside knowledge, the PSU methodology of having "fun" seems to be more about the mental approach to the sport. Focusing on getting to your attacks, competing the best that you can and defaulting to your training rather than putting a lot of pressure on winning a certain match. Compete to the best of your ability, be prepared and the rest takes care of it self. PSU is always one of, if not the best, conditioned teams in the country. They surely get after it in the room and do conditioning with the best of them. They may focus more on wrestling as a form of conditioning than other teams though.

  5. Purdue is going to have to do more to be considered a program on the rise for me. They area Big 10 school that went many years without an AA and then finally got a couple last year. This year they have one likely AA (possible champ) in Ramos and then one guy who has a an average chance in Joey Blaze.
  6. He needs to get more of his guys to go there for school then.
  7. Oklahoma State is a very well coached team. They are fun to watch. I’ve said it before but wrestling is better off when Ok State is good.
  8. Did Gioffre and Edmonds switch weights?
  9. In the D3 national finals a couple years back two brothers wrestled
  10. Hunter Catka dec Ryan Catka 8-4 These guys are brothers wrestling against each other. How often does this happen?
  11. Give me John Smith for the Big 12 all day long. He is a legend of the sport and has the Cowboys trending back in the right direction. Smith has placed outside of the top 10 only 4 times since he took over the reigns in 1992 - 32 years ago! He also has had 5 NCAA Team titles, 4 NCAA runner up finishes and an additional 12 top 5 finishes.
  12. Mirasola the smaller's wins over Evan Wick and Max Dean in freestyle tells me that he is ready to go right away. He is very good.
  13. Alek Martin SDSU mdec Gabe Willochell 12-2
  14. Snyder and Myles Martin 2016 tOSU?
  15. Wasn’t there some speculation that Cardenas was going to be joining Arizona state following this season?
  16. His losses to Cardinal and Serrano are holding him from rising higher in the rankings. If he keeps beating guys like Shawver, he will start rising.
  17. Wisconsin's website lists Hamiti at 6'0". Olejnik has got to be 6' or over I would think. Truax is listed at 6'1" which is taller than Reece Heller who is listed at 6'0". Aiden McCain is listed on the Iowa website at 6'3". I have not been able to locate Will Feldkamp's height yet.
  18. Okay, so he would have possibly taken 2nd instead of third. He lost to the eventual champion so he wasn’t going to win.
  19. Cody Donnelly backup 197 for SDSU is 6’7”
  20. 141 Cole Matthews? 184 Clayton Whiting to Will Feldkamp
  21. We will see how he progresses throughout the year. Concussions are tricky for training and competing. I am assuming he had one since he looked lost at CKLV and he is now wearing the padded headgear. He looked great and without any gas tank issues against Mauller this weekend.
  22. Looks like the dual will be decided by 157, 165, 174. All should be tightly contested coin flip matches. Hopefully both teams are at full strength. I would like to see Iowa roll out Kueter against Davison to see how he does against a top HWT.
  23. When he had a concussion… not a fair representation of Shapiro. Watch his match with Mauller for a non concussed version
  24. Too many stoppages for my liking. Wrestling is a sport where conditioning is a huge tool and these stoppages take away from that.
  25. I think the official stoppage for review without coaches challenge needs to be eliminated. The officials stop the matches quite frequently to review their own calls. Yes, they overturn them sometimes but at some point the matches just need to be wrestled and if there are bad calls a coach can challenge. Otherwise, let’s keep the matches rolling without so many breaks.
