First, we can have a defense without spending half of the world's total defense budget. Second, IF you want to cut welfare, then medicaid is the last area of welfare to cut. Much better to cut Medicare or ss. Completely eliminating welfare isn't happening so that's stupid to even discuss.

If they're truly poor then pay 4 their medical care. They aren't all poor though. Not even close. That is...if u want to cut medical care. But I'd rather completely gut our military. Like gutting a fat pig. We also need to raise taxes...for everybody. Not just the rich.

Yah, the theory is that it will just be people that aren't looking for work but it won't work out that way at all. Even the congressional budget office ( I think that's the title) doesn't predict any change in unemployment as a result of this. In reality, a lot of the people that need Medicaid are on it because they have problems that will also limit their ability to clear these logistical hurdles. Why do we want to cut Healthcare for kids and young families but make zero cuts to medical care for geriatrics?

Better to cut medicare than medicaid. Also better to cut our fat bloated military and the uber wealthy don't need tax cuts either. Lots of better things you could do.
