I like your option 2! This was the toughest year in a long time for Mizzou wrestling. Couple of other thoughts/questions. 1. Hawks doesn't seem to be improving over the years he's been in the program. Is he at a weight class that is too high? Should he/can he move to 174? If Steed could maintain 165, Hawks at 174, Sinclair at 184 and Elam at 197 that would be 4 strong weight classes. 2. Over the many years I've been a fan, I've gotten spoiled with the strong development Mizzou coaches have achieved with many of their wrestlers. Good/great wrestlers come into the program and you see many of them improve each year to the point you have NCAA champions or All Americans by the time they are seniors. Edmonds, Hawks, Gioffre and others don't seem to be developing and improving as many former Mizzou wrestlers have. Any thought on this? 3. Nitzel had some bright points, can he take the next step in 2025/26? 4. Will Kade Moore take the next step in development? Can he survive the onslaught of some of the incoming talent? He looked like he was really coming around in the Big 12 Tourn, but then did nothing at the NCAA Tourn.

Why do we put up with this crap????
Mizzou Fan replied to Alces Alces Gigas's topic in College Wrestling
I signed up for ESPN+ and I get to the wrestling page with all the various cameras, but two issues; 1. None of the individual mat cameras are labeled. So I've got 8-9 different leads/cameras and you don't have a way of knowing which broadcast is which mat. 2. even when I select a specific mat, I just get an hour glass going round and round. Geeeez! Anybody have a suggested solution? I have plenty of internet/bandwidth (1 gig). -
Who's the oldest wrestler in the tournament?

You're kidding, right?

I'm expecting Cam Steed from Mizzou to be in this group.
-
Would expect O'Toole to be seeded #1 since he beat Haines this year and Haines beat Hamiti. As they say though, regardless of who is seeded what, you still need to win in on the mat. I'm comfortable with O'Toole's chances.

Don't agree/understand the Colton Hawks seed (#8) at 184. He's ranked #10 in the Intermat rankings and has three wrestlers seeded higher for Big 12 that are ranked lower. No offense to Eddie Neitenbach (Wyoming), but he's ranked 30th and seeded ahead of Hawks (#10). What's up?

Maybe because Mizzou is losing the dual, but the camera crew is focusing almost 100% on the adjoining gymnastic meet rather than wrestling. Strange becasue this broadcast link was advertised on the Cornell wrestling page.

Anyone have an update on team score?

If you go to the Cornel Wrestling site, click watch. Depending on the TV service you use, you can watch a poorly televised version of the dual.

With Rocky coming back next year (sounds like redshirt of some kind), there doesn't seem to be a reason to keep Sinclair on his redhsirt. With Rocky and Colton Hawks returning next year, Sinclair can redshirt then vs wasting a year of eligability sitting on the bench. Sinclair has shown he can be very competitive at 197 now. Am I missing something?

Thanks!

Track wrestling says there are no matches underway. They show results up to 149, then stop. Where can I see the live scores/wrestling?

When do finals resume?

Any results anyone can share re Mizzou?

125/133: Walker is doing great filling in for Surtin. Anyone know when Surtin will wrestle again? Will Surtin come back to 125 or could he move to 133. Kade Moore is struggling. I understand he was stabbed and is having difficulty getting back to a competitive level. Might it be considered to move Surtin to 133 and remove the redshirt for Gage Walker to fill 125? Walker is about out of redshirt matches for this season. 197/285: Aeoden Sinclair is doing a great job filling in for Rocky Elam. Huge win for Aoeden over #10 ranked Zac Braunagel (Illinois). Any news on when Rocky will wrestle again? I hear he had surgery in the off season that he is still recovering. I also read that Rocky's expected to struggle making 197 all season. Any consideration for removing redshirt for Aoeden for 197 and moving Rocky to 285 when he's ready? Seth Nitzel is doing OK but I suspect Elam would be a stronger option, even at 285. Sinclair is about out of redshirt matches for this season. 165: Love what Cam Steed is doing at the start of this season and his Mizzou career. Any updates on his knee injury? GO MIZZOU!

Anyone have any idea when Surtin and Elam will return to the lineup?

Will there be any brackets available prior to tomorrows Invite?

"Log jam" is a great problem to have.

I thought Walker looked good considering the quality guy he wrestled. Kade looked very good till half way through the match. Hopefully, it's just a conditioning issue. I read he's still recovering from an off season injury. I liked what Sinclair showed. Look forward to seeing more of him against better quality opponents. I need to avoid getting too excited since it's early. But Steed looked great! So glad the season has begun!

Can teams enter more than one wrestler? I'm not clear on all the limitations for redshirting wrestlers. I know there is a limit to how many matches they can wrestle before losing their redshirt. Would matches in this tourn count toward that max number for the season? Thx

While we didn't see all the expected starters and we didn't see all the other promising new guys to the program, from last night's matches it looks like 149 is the only weight class that might have an unexpected starter this year. Anyone see any other changes to the likely starting line-up? PS. Love the rule allowing redshirts to compete in a handful of matches without losing a year of eligibility. Gives the newer guys some added experience and allows starters to rest or recover when needed. Looking forward to seeing some of the new guys compete.
