Penn named Jude Swisher, Kelly Dunnigan, and Sean Seefeldt as captains. Dunnigan and Seefeld have not been starters so interested to see if either of these guys win the spot and post a strong year. Hope so!

first time I saw him was against Zinkin and he looks very good - so does Zinkin! If LL gets a growth spurt or want a redshirt, I think he will be ready.

he was excellent in all positions - but to me his unique signature trick was a long arm short arm mat return that he had success using to ride and turn guys.

I think it is good for the sport to have top 5 teams (or at least top 5 contenders) from outside the B1G on the regular.

OK - I did not love that but he is a young gun and mistakes can be made. This thread is about college wrestlers so don't count that!

Some depth! I think Cornell's second team would be formidable, might be a good match with PSU's second team.

I think many of the Ivies do this in wrestling and other sports. Might also save the atheletes some tuition dollars they do not need to spend to graduate.

Nolf, Zain, Mills, Sanderson, and Mitchell M is on the watch list. These guys were/are entertaining!

Of course, the issue could also relate to some of these guys sitting out the fall semester and competing after X-mas break.

revised uneducated Penn list - noticing Max G, Alex Almeyda, and Kaya S are not on the posted roster: 125 - Motyka 133 - Dunno - rostered 133 guys are Barnhadt, Nardone, and Casey with Pruet listed as 125 - some tough 141 lbers behind CJC but hard to say any can make 133 141 - Composto 149 - Wasilewski 157 - Swisher 165 - Dunno, there has been mention of Sean Seefeld here and at 174 and hard to say/see if he wins the spot. Do not see Sement on the posted roster. 174 - Dunno 184 - Taylor 197 - Cosgrove 285 - Pardo Do not recall a recent year with so much apparent pre-season lineup uncertainty, will make the fall season schedule that much more fun to watch. A lot of accomplished wrestlers for 165 and 174 and will be interesting to see who wins these spots.

Some of the most entertaining (tough on top, feet to back magic, or unusual tricks), from wrestlers I have seen in live matches (mostly Eastern wrestling): Gene Mills Jordan Leen Jesse Jantzen Travis Doto Pete Yozzo Rick Springman Yianni Cuvo Vito a bunch of Penn State guys Zain, Nolf, Quentin Wright, RBY, Ruth and others

He is listed at 157 on the posted roster, but it looks like he competed several times at 165 last year so maybe. Quite a few guys packed at 165, so maybe need one to bump up or someone from that group or have someone at 184 come down. The depth at 184 seems less than 165 from a very rough surmise. No idea, but maybe Sement got big in his off year and can go 174? He seemed to have a frame for it but have not seen him on the mat since the 23-24 season. My impression was that K Sement was making good progress and had some bad luck at the end of that year in '24 and has some big development upside.

A lot can happen and there are some other good wrestlers and coaches out there!

From the posted new roster for Penn (https://pennathletics.com/sports/wrestling/roster), it looks like Max Gallagher may be out this year and Davis Motyka (greyshirt last year?) may be available at 125 with freshman eligibility. Also, looks like Kaya Sement is back this year - a regular starter two years ago and was not in action last year. Finally, it looks like Alex Almeyda is back at 133 - not sure if he was available last year or burned a year of eligibility? He is listed as a junior but not sure what that tells us in terms of NCAA or Ivy eligibility. With Martin Cosgrove, at least four new faces in the lineup. Not too sure how it will get sorted - plenty of questions in the upper weights particularly and no idea at 174. Maybe: Motyka, Almeyda, Composto, Wasilewski, Swisher, Sement, 174?, Taylor, Coisgrove, Pardo Somebody smarter tell me what might happen at 174 for the Quakers?

Dick DiBatista - never lost a match in high school or college and was only a 2x NCAA champ as frosh could not compete and one year cancelled for WWII. Not sure how/why he did not get a PIAA title - were there such things in the 1930s?

Analysis is on the money. Once coaches report it is out of their hands and presumably in the hands of those trained to investigate and make related decisions.

Well - as God often shows us - we certainly need more lawyers!

Good analysis except we really do not know what the actions or inactions of the coaches have been and University procedures apply and may impose limits. There are of course properly protections in place even for those students that are the subject of complaints and investigations. If the allegations in the article are accurate, obviously the just consequences for at least Starrocci are quite serious.
