He is listed at 157 on the posted roster, but it looks like he competed several times at 165 last year so maybe. Quite a few guys packed at 165, so maybe need one to bump up or someone from that group or have someone at 184 come down. The depth at 184 seems less than 165 from a very rough surmise. No idea, but maybe Sement got big in his off year and can go 174? He seemed to have a frame for it but have not seen him on the mat since the 23-24 season. My impression was that K Sement was making good progress and had some bad luck at the end of that year in '24 and has some big development upside.

Will the Penn State 25-26 and 26-27 teams be the BEST ever?

A lot can happen and there are some other good wrestlers and coaches out there! -
sorry to Martin Cosgrove - not a great spell chjekker

From the posted new roster for Penn (https://pennathletics.com/sports/wrestling/roster), it looks like Max Gallagher may be out this year and Davis Motyka (greyshirt last year?) may be available at 125 with freshman eligibility. Also, looks like Kaya Sement is back this year - a regular starter two years ago and was not in action last year. Finally, it looks like Alex Almeyda is back at 133 - not sure if he was available last year or burned a year of eligibility? He is listed as a junior but not sure what that tells us in terms of NCAA or Ivy eligibility. With Martin Cosgrove, at least four new faces in the lineup. Not too sure how it will get sorted - plenty of questions in the upper weights particularly and no idea at 174. Maybe: Motyka, Almeyda, Composto, Wasilewski, Swisher, Sement, 174?, Taylor, Coisgrove, Pardo Somebody smarter tell me what might happen at 174 for the Quakers?

2018 prolly.

Will the real Slim Jimmy please stand up. Maybe it was the other JC or the other other JC?

Happy to hear this - hoping he can get this sorted and thrive.

Three Basset brothers as co-player coaches!

Analysis is on the money. Once coaches report it is out of their hands and presumably in the hands of those trained to investigate and make related decisions.

Well - as God often shows us - we certainly need more lawyers!

Carter Starocci faces allegations of sexual assault and theft
Elevator replied to VakAttack's topic in College Wrestling
Good analysis except we really do not know what the actions or inactions of the coaches have been and University procedures apply and may impose limits. There are of course properly protections in place even for those students that are the subject of complaints and investigations. If the allegations in the article are accurate, obviously the just consequences for at least Starrocci are quite serious. -
Carter Starocci faces allegations of sexual assault and theft

This is wrong. Very robust reporting requirements and frequent training and reminders for everyone at PSU. Strong leadership on these issues and strong whistleblower protections. Nobody posting here has any idea what was reported or what the investigations have revealed. Unfortunate cyber lynch mob. -
I will start counting and circle back!

I do not think schools will face liability for failing to provide tax and financial planning advice. Nevertheless, IMHO it is wise for schools to set up robust quality programs to do so for the long term benefit of their recruited athletes and programs receiving econimic benefits beyond non-taxable scholarships. There is some risk to schools in entering that space and it must be done with skill and care. I would expect that a larg part of the advice from such programs would be to urge individuals to get a sound personal advisor or advisors with certain registrations, education, certification and even affiliations that can provide some indication of sound training, expertise, supervision, and most importantly ethical standards - all to protect from embezlement, fraud, abuse, and really stupid decisions like an athlete making a large concentrated investment (high % of net worth) into a start up business. State income tax liaiblities often a modest part of the tax planning and tax compliance challenges - more the tail of the dog that is federal income tax compliance and planning than the dog itself.

Not saying there is some truth to this, but most that teach at top academically competitive universities are enornmously talented and choosing to teach - often over other more lucrative but less rewarding paths. This is not based on data, but anecdotal and observations resulting from advanced years. By all means do your own research!

All this transgender athlete fuss lately. . .

Yup - not only marginalized but among the most vulnerable. -
After a careful review, going to go hard on the under as to PD3 making a good point (ever about anything). He's about as sharp as a bowling ball. As to Snyderman, feel bad generally for the situation and hope he and his family can heal. Feel bad generally that prostitution operations are out there in America. Weakening the social safety net will only make it worse in my opinion. Finally, I remain skeptical that wrestlers professing their profound religious convinctions as part of their training formula are particularly more virtuous and ethical in their everday lives and communities than others that do not make such professions.

at the time when the Moscow Olympics were boycotted, I thought mean Gene could beat anyone and perhaps by fall But it was not a studied understanding - just my impression and way before there was so much data to review

I think it is relevant - tangentially. If Ono was moslem and speaking out ("Ruckus") for Palestinan rights, it might lead to immediate exit.

What schools got crushed so far in Portal?
Elevator replied to feet2back's topic in College Wrestling
I read into the concept of "crushed" the net yield and roster impact. PSU got two wrold medalists and hard to see any crushing blow the roster. -
its a rough sport and Latona hit rocky ground - I take your point as to his career and potential
