  1. Surprised to see Stallroci so high up. I thought he just stalled to win?
  2. They didn’t pick a great match to showcase Keuter’s wrestling prowess…
  3. Yes, I've said multiple times if he has a half decent shot at being drafted (like even a 25% chance) he absolutely should give up wrestling and focus on football. An average NFL LB makes more in a 2-5 year career than Spencer Lee (the GOAT) will over the course of his entire wrestling career. It's not even close how much more $$$ there is in football over wrestling.
  4. Interesting but I don't see Arnold being able to beat Brands. Arnold is basically the same wrestlers as Brands, just 8 years younger.
  5. A Ferrari vs Ferrari comparison...who was better at this point in time (true freshman season)? I'm thinking it's Angelo? Actually Angelo is probably better than A.J., straight up right now.
  6. No wrestler ever, actually shoots from his knees. All shots are initiated with the knees off the ground. Low, maybe. On the ground, no.
  7. Watching Keuter get absolutely ragdolled by Pindrickson last night made me question if Keuter will ever develop into a top tier heavyweight. Currently at 220 pounds he's just too small for the top heavies who are just as athletic. I think he needs to gain 20-30 pounds of muscle this offseason, but I couldn't help but think of Jan Johnson watching when watching Pindrickson use Keuter as a human mat mop last night.
  8. Your theory is likely the reality. Arnold has admitted on record he's 5'6 and not a true 184 pounder. Obviously Dad and Uncle Brands want to get Nelson a final shot at glory as a 8th year senior... We always knew Kennedy was probably going to be the one to get the shaft.
  9. Really? That means he could easily make 174 then. Dropping 6 pounds is literally just water weight.
  10. Buchanan is winning 197 this year. I don't see Barr beating him or Ferrari. I think Cardenas could take Barr out too.
  11. Sounds reasonable. How about a 3 count for non-contact wrestling on one or both knees is an automatic stall?
  12. This has been asked before, mainly about A.J. but Angelo employed it to great effect last night too in beating Plott. People said RBY keeping 1 arm behind the back was stalling. What about wrestling from one or both knees?
  13. I mean, even if Iowa can't beat Penn State this year (I think they can if they use the lineup in my other thread), it's embarrassing to lose by 100+ points at NCAAs.
  14. He looks gigantic. Or maybe Arnold is just tiny.
  15. Don't forget that Caliendo is probably getting a hefty bag too since he transferred in as well (with Franek a few years ago).
  16. Getting 2nd instead of 3rd is worth it?
  17. Why at best 3rd? He could beat Starocci or Keck.
  18. I think next year you might see McEnelly go up to 197, he's huge. And Barr should drop to 184 as he's a small 197 pounder.
  19. I'm a huge Penn State fan but I'm realizing Iowa is capable of winning the NCAA team title this year IF they start Arnold at 174 and Ferrari at 184. Here are the reasons why: 1. Lilledahl has not been as great as advertised and has shown a glaring weakness on bottom. He was cradled up and pinned by McCrone who was ranked 21st at the time and is not a AA caliber wrestler. Further Lilledahl is not bonusing at the rate you might suspect. I think LL still manages to AA, but I project him at 5-8 rather than 1-4. 2. Davis is hurt and is as likely to AA (5-8) as he is to go 2-2 BBQ again this year. At 133 his strength advantage is gone and he has shown no improvement in scrambling ability (see his match versus Bouzakis). Ayala is looking like a sure-fire finalist with lots of bonus in the early rounds of NCAAs. 3. Kasak wrestled again but is still recovering from his concussion/head injury - this is a bit of wildcard. Further, Teemer looked very good in beating Fish last night. I could see Teemer beating a less than 100% Kasak at Big 10s. 4. Caliendo is looking super dominant against anyone not named Mesenbrink. He just majored Cam Amine last night, which is impressive. Even if Mesenbrink ultimately beats Caliendo in the finals Caliendo can bonus just as much as Mesenbrink in all the other matches. 5. Obviously Arnold at 174 suits him better bodytype wise and moves him from a low AA contender at 184 to a high AA contender at 174. I could see Arnold in the finals at 174. 6. Ferrari showed last night in beating #3 Plott that he can win a title THIS YEAR at 184. Maybe bottom is still a weakness but his neutral offense and defense is as good as anyone at 184. 7. Buchanan looks amazing and will win a title this year --- most year he would be a Hodge contender. I see him taking out Barr at B10s again and beating Ferrari the elder at NCAAs. 8. Kerk was MIA and is possibly hurt. Further, Pindrickson looks huge and dominant. He utterly mauled Keuter last night. Steveson obviously wins B10s and gets the 1, so I think Kerk ends up meeting Pindrickson in the semis and given Kerk is injured Pindrickson takes him out and meets Gable in the finals. This Iowa lineup can beat Penn State THIS YEAR! 125 Cruz (R12) 133 Ayala (1st or 2nd) 141 Schriever (2-2) 149 Parco (1st to 4th) 157 Teemer (1st or 2nd) 165 Caliendo (2nd) 174 Arnold (1st to 4th) 184 Ferrari (1st to 4th) 197 Buchanan (1st) HWT Keuter (5th-8th)
  20. Pull. The. Shirt.
  21. Bye Gabe!
  22. Didn’t know that Iowa is Parcos third school. Dude has gotten around.
