  1. You need two of three: - 70% win % - Top 33 Coaches' Rank - Top 33 RPI And participate in the conf tournie. He has the first two and can inj def ala Nolf at the conf tournie.
  2. The list of guys with two NCAA titles that they did not change any rules for is long. Why single out RBY.
  3. So Zane Richards may have an easy path if RBY draws to the other side. Nick Lee v Austin Gomez at worlds was a wild one and it looks like 2.0 will decide who gets the slot.
  4. Now, why are there two US entries at 57 and 65?
  5. Back to Acapulco in four days for the start of the OG. UWW Pan-Am OG Home I think they are using ranking points for seeding. If so... At 57kg Zane Richards should be the #1 seed as he has the most points in the region at 6,520. Darian Cruz (PUR) is a close second at 5,480 points. Canada's Treye Trotman is third in the region at 0 points (I got a chuckle out of that on the UWW site). Though this suggest otherwise I think. At 65kg Sebastian Rivera (PUR) leads the region with 46,000 points, followed by Nick Lee at 31,200 and Augustin Destribats at 26,600. So I assume they are the top three seeds. I could not find Austin Gomez as the list only shows the top 20 in the world. But he did earn points in Serbia, so not zero, and perhaps he will be the four seed. Not sure where the Cubans stand as they do not seem to participate much in the ranking events. Again this suggests otherwise, I think. Weird that Rivera is not in the top 4? If anyone know the relationship between Draw Ranks and Seeds, let me know.
  6. You are exactly right. They made it a requirement that the country represent the weight here if they wanted to participate at the weight next week for the Olympic Qualifier. That did not mean it had to be the same person both weeks. Thus you get Spencer Lee at 57 instead of Zane Richards and some guy for Mexico instead of RBY. And at 65 Puerto Rico (Sebastian Rivera), Mexico (Austin Gomez, and Cuba (I forget the guy's name) will send a different wrestler next week than they sent this week. The one benefit of sending the same guy both weeks is that he/she could earn ranking points this week that may be beneficial next week.
  7. No surprise that a guy named Parris likes the wine as he finishes VIN VIN to take the title. He had to fly to one of the most violent places in the hemisphere to wrestle one time for less than 2 minutes for the honor.
  8. yeah, that sequence made me wince too.
  9. Snyder sleepwalks his way to 2-5 in the first two minutes of his final. Then an absolutely enormous Torres (CUB) hits the wall. Snyder takes the gold 10-5 without looking great.
  10. Spencer Lee dominates 12-2 to take the gold. His cousin dominates to win by inj def.
  11. And what has happened to CPI and income? Context matters.
  12. You should just sit this one out.
  13. 97kg Kyle Snyder goes pin, 11-0 to make the final against Cuba's Torres. 125kg Mason Parris goes 10-0, inj def to make the final against Peurto Rico's Smith.
  14. 57kg Spencer Lee spends a full minute on the mat to win twice by 10-0 scores. He has Venezuela in the final. 65kg Nick Lee is the slower working of the two Lees, taking 2:02 to finish his pair of 10-0 wins. He faces Destribats of Argentina in the final. 70kg Alec Panteleo faces Biabani of Canada in the final.
  15. Damn good question. Though I have no idea what the answer is.
  16. And good for you for doing that. I worry that too many fall for the MAGA narrative that The Economy is awful (but never define The Economy), while all the numbers that describe the economy are fantastic.
  17. https://portfolioslab.com/tools/stock-comparison/GLD/SPY Have at it. Diversify.
  18. Again, attach a probability to that scenario. If Hollywood has taught us anything it is that if aliens invade it will go very poorly for us. But again, I urge you to attach a probability to that scenario before making any big decisions.
  19. Now attach a probability to that.
  20. You mean like in Russia where they have dedollarized their way to double digit inflation and 16% base interest rates and a stock market at half its Oct 2021 value while in the US inflation and interest rates are one third that value and the stock market appreciated 20% in the same time? Yeah, sounds awful to hold dollars.
  21. Ah, the BRICS currency. You should check in with its champion, @Offthemat, to see how that is going. At their summit in South Africa, Putin could not attend because he was afraid he would be arrested.
  22. Being forced to yuan because they are denied access to dollars is not "leading the charge to make the dollar far less relevant". It is "any port in a storm". It is like you don't even read your own articles.
  23. You did not quote. You paraphrased and added your own thoughts in the same sentence. And no it is not true that Russia is "leading the charge to make the dollar far less relevant".
  24. Sigh. First off it isn't a bond to be sold. It is a loan that is held by the issuer. Second, don't kid yourself. Argentina famously defaulted on their bonds and then came back to the market just one year later and successfully sold a 100 year bond, that they then defaulted on just 3 years later. There is always a market.
