We have a market. Seems like there is a trade to be done here.

Trumps's Obsession With Crowd Size
Wrestleknownothing replied to red viking's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
You missed a prime opportunity to bash the White Sox. -
Debates are performances. Biden gave the worst performance in the history of debates, and he had to drop out of the election as a result. The first time round Trump rode to the presidency on the back of his debate performances. His greatest skill was to put everyone around him on tilt by becoming the personification and embodiment of an internet troll. It proved a highly effective strategy. And it was all performance. This time the expectation of many was that Harris was not up to the task and her performance would prove it ("Why is Harris afraid to debate?" "Isn't her nervous laugh weird" "Why does she need to prepare so much? It will hurt her.") But the reality is that she significantly outperformed Trump last night. As the old saw goes, Trump's failure to prepare was preparing to fail. His over confidence combined with his inability to avoid every trap set for him (all of which were predictable - let's talk about crowd size) led to a pretty unhinged performance last night (I heard it on TV). Harris was very successful putting Trump on tilt and appearing to be the only adult on stage. Even her "isn't he cute" condescending smirk pose was effective. Trump was so on tilt that he failed to put Harris on the spot for not answering any difficult questions. Never mind that never in the history of debates has any candidate, ever answered a difficult question, Trump's one job was to press her on Biden's policies and he failed miserably to do so. At the very end he made a weak attempt to bring it back to that, but by then the damage was done. Now, what does it mean? It is hard for me, or anyone that posts on this forum, to say because we are so entrenched in our positions. I cannot project to the mind of the undecided voter, who is almost certain to decide this election. But if I am a Trump advisor this morning all I am thinking about is damage control. Nowhere near as bad, but kind of like Biden advisors were after the last debate.

What was the crowd size for the debate?

I am mostly upset with Harris for failing to address the real issues. The cats and dogs of Springfield are facing an existential crisis and as Vice President she has done nothing about it.

I could use a little more ruining

That matches my desktop experience. However, the mobile experience (Android/Chrome) is much worse. There are typically two pop up ads at a time covering content. See screenshot below. The ads cover a much larger % of the screen, and always over the content, on mobile.

I read it as Starocci is going 184 also.

probably, but it affected only one of them.

Depends on what their policy says about how to act in this situation. The cops got on the muscle fast. One of them was placed on administrative duties amid the investigation, suggesting those in charge at least have some questions.

Four former Michigan football players are suing the NCAA and the Big Ten Network for $50 million. They all played prior to 2016. The House suit starts with 2016 due to statute of limitations issues. The four players contend that because the NCAA and Big Ten Network still put clips on YouTube and social media and show classic games, it precludes them from relying on the statute of limitations. This lawsuit is similar to those filed by the 1983 NC State men's basketball team and the 2008 Kansas men's basketball team. Between the House settlement being rejected in its current form by the judge and suits like this, the NCAA will be lobbying even harder for antitrust exemption. Without it, the potential for litigation is almost endless.

Who do you trust to do what they say?

Cheney has been known to take shots at Republicans. -
So call it $125k or $150k, it is still not $500k for a zero time champion. Now given that Carter Starocci says he is willing to put up $300k against AJ Ferrari's $300k to wrestle at 190, maybe a 4x time champ can command that. On the other hand, Starocci is a self-reported disinterested student, so it is very possible he does not know that he does not have $300k. A second possibility is he is confident Ferrari does not have it, making his own financial standing moot. Now, if each have the 300 large I am willing to hold it for them until this is settled.

How much will Trump net from DJT?

Nope. No laws broken. -
Here is why I think $500k is puffery. North Dakota State dominates FCS football. They have won 17 national titles. They last won in 2021 and made the finals in 2022 and the semis in 2023. They have their players poached on an annual basis. In a recent interview their coach talked about this. He said he advises his guys to ignore the $100k offers that come from Group of 5 conference schools, bet on themselves, spend another year at NDSU and try to get a $500k offer from a Power 5 conference school. If football players are getting offered $500k to go to top programs, I just do not see a wrestler getting offered $500k. Sure there are QBs getting a lot more than that, but QB is a class of its own even within football. As for the scholarship offer argument, the analysis I have seen is wrong. Let's say a wrestler stays put at SDSU and keeps his scholarship. That is worth about $23k for a year. If instead, he transfers to Iowa and gets $100k, but has to pay for college, that costs about $46k per year, or $23k per semester. If he goes for a full year he nets $54k ($77k if only a semester). Will he get $50 - $75k in NIL to stay at SDSU? Is $50 - $75k enough to get him to move? Remember, we are talking about a college kid who hasn't sniffed $50k in his life, and is likely to make that about that much coming out of SDSU with a construction management degree. So it is like getting another year of salary. Here is another reason I think $500k is not happening. If the offers really are for $500k for one year or one semester, then I would say someone is a fool for not taking it. If you are a PSU wrestler and someone offers you $500k to switch schools, then you have to do it. Until you see someone leaving PSU, or Iowa, or OSU to go to one of the others, I just do not believe $500k is real.

Donald Trump's 180 day lock up on his DJT stock expires on Saturday, September 21. That means he can start selling his stock on Monday, September 23. How much do you think he nets on the sale? Or does he keep the stock and run the company? That seems unlikely. After all, the company hemorrhages money. In Q2 it had yet another operating loss, this time of $16.4 million on revenue of only $837,000. It has never had $1 million in quarterly revenue. But there is a lot of cash on the balance sheet. They have about $344 million in cash. That is earmarked for building out their streaming platform, but maybe he folds the tent and pockets whatever cash is left? Hard to do with public shareholders, but Trump does not mind a law suit. This we know. Trump owns something like 114,750,000 shares. That is about 57% of the company. His pro rata slice of the cash would be $196 million, assuming they stop spending that cash. But the company has a market cap of about $3.5 billion right now. So wouldn't he be better off selling? After all 57% of $3.5 billion is about $2 billion. And $2 billion is greater than $196 million. But that kind of depends. "Right now" is a very pregnant term. The market has been anticipating this day. DJT has been trading persistently down for over a month. After reaching the mid-40's in July, DJT is below $18 today. The average daily trading volume for DJT is 7.9 million shares. Trump's holdings therefore, represent about 14.5 days of average volume. But you can't just sell the ADV for 15 days and expect to get today's price. If you are an institution, for example, trying to liquidate a concentrated position you typically limit yourself to under 10% of the daily volume to minimize/manage your market impact. At 10% of the volume we are now talking about 145 trading days for Trump to sell. But here is the thing. As a company insider who owns the majority of the company he has to file his plans to sell. That kind of information about selling leaves a mark, especially from someone as ingrained in the company as a man whose initials are its ticker symbol. It is bound to have a negative effect on the price. So what do we think the average price will wind up being? $196 million divided by 114.75 million shares is about $1.70 per share. Can he get more than that? If so, sell with both hands. But what if he starts selling and it is a race to zero? Does he liquidate the company and go for the cash? Does he run the company and count on Devin Nunes? So many fun possibilities over the next few weeks.

I hate you for making me read that piece of garbage article. Every sentence is a hot mess of very poor AI writing. How you can read that and think it was about college is beyond me.

You think THAT is the problem with the thread?
