prob to throw Carl off the secret plan.   We know Lee is the best ever seen, we know Gable could beat everyone in the room through HWT and Lee is better, thus Tom can plug Lee in wherever needed to win the meet.

to throw Carl off the Lee Plan, see above.

    Whoa!

I agree with that point and I wish Lee had gone more of the Snyder route. I think if he could’ve stayed healthy, he would be on course to be an all time great, but things did not work out that way, and he is clearly not anywhere near an all time great as far as international accolades. However, I think it’s fair to recognize he has that same talent.

Has anyone actually questioned Lee's talent?  Questioning his strategy to continue to wrestle in college with the injuries he's sustained doesn't make anyone a Lee doubter.  I personally think Spencer has somewhat of a "Iowa savior" complex that might hinder his International career down the road.

It pretty much does mean that. Right or wrong, it's the only viable path in this country. Maybe the powers that be could or should create a different path. But until they do, the decision to wrestle in college is the right one for anyone who aims for international success.

Is this actually true?  Henry Cejudo never stepped on a college mat and I'd lay money on Aaron Pico being our rep if he chose Freestyle over MMA with no plans of ever attending college.

The way @LJB and others (but primarily LJB) are talking, you would think Spencer Lee retired 6 years ago and we're assessing his career in retrospect.  We all understand he's still wrestling, correct?

What I'm getting from @LJB is he thinks Lee is wasting precious time chasing a 4th title that to him is somewhat meaningless in the grand scheme of things.  Correct me if I'm wrong LJB.

personally, i do not care about the BC shenanigans because i know how much a club in russia/hungary/(insert your favorite country here) can benefit from an age level world medal...

the overall benefit far outweighs any perceived slight from a country that does not support its athletes...

I agree.  Also, I think this will change in our lifetime but for now I can't think of one American wrestler that would crack the top 5 of "greatest Russian Freestyle wrestlers of All Time".  10 to 15 years from now I'm confident that will change

Sad is the best wrestler on the planet and maybe the best ever.  But he was like 22 when he won juniors.  Not to mention the state sponsored mandated doping.

He won Men's worlds in 2014 for the first time not Juniors.  If you go by his Facebook page birthdate, October 1994, he was 19 years old when he won it

    C) Struggled with Ragusin.

    D) He ain't beating Lee at 125

    E) He wouldn't beat Lee at the catchweight of 129 either.

Let's hope it actually happens so 'i can laugh at the delusional Spencer Lee fans. Especially when it gets to the 3rd period and Spencer hasnt gotten close to scoring a takedown and is sucking for air

Exactly.  The same as thinking Lee would bump.  (Except that RBY was allegedly training and planning to enter the mix at 57 kg a couple years back)

This Lee vs RBY thing has reached an all time level of stupidity.  A) Both Brands and Cael have shown throughout their coaching careers that duals are meaningless B)  RBY would beat Spencer Lee.  Yes.  He would.  Hes bigger, stronger, longer reach, and much faster.

    7 times over 2 years.

But why wouldnt they just wrestle at their natural weight class at 174?  Is Jimmy holding a gun to their heads?  Also, Jimmy hasn't answered why Ben in his prime has to suck down to a weight class he never wrestled at in college
