SVN, Bartlett, Facundo, and Haines - we've been watchng to see if they could be AA level and contenders and now it seem clearer that they could be at that level.  The coaches probably have a good idea from the room, but the B1G dual schedule will further clarify.  7 or 8 AA's and multiple finalists and champs is a good strategy for NCAA team glory!  Can't wait to see Jimmy C's Iowa prediction where the Hawkeyes take 6 of ten matches!

    I think he'll pick 7

    125, 141, 149, 157, 165, 197, Hvwt

Don't think I've ever seen this before...Chandler throws brick and hits official in head and Michigan State was deducted a team point and they lost the dual by 1 point to Rutgers

They would've still lost on criteria.

Did it appear at all intentional?  Bricks are usually thrown in the middle of commotion.

    Not intentional.  Bogus deduction @21:55

Good point on Facundo, although he looked better than I anticipated last night.

He's the real deal.  His biggest problem is that so are a lot of other guys at 165.  We'll know a lot in his next 3 matches.  He gets Caleb Fish next who he lost to last year, then PK, followed by Kharchla.

Honestly, does it seem that far fetched to predict that they could have nine guys top 6?  How many could be top 4?  Very impressive group.

I think he'll have a solid career but for this year it's hard for me to picture Facundo finishing in the top 6.  So many land mines at 165

For top 4 there are the obvious wrestlers plus I believe Bartlett and Haines have a legitimate shot. Not quite ready to put SVN in that group

    Its not stupid. Its schtick.

"Woe is PSU. They are going to loose this dual. I am a big PSU fan, but what will we ever do?"

When is the last time you picked those weaklings from State College to win a dual? Last year you had Iowa winning 21-9, for example.

I think he also had UM winning the dual last year and picked either the Wolverines or the Hawkeyes to win NCAA's.  His gimmick is getting beyond tired and boring.

Much like Nebraska in the Iowa dual, if absolutely everything breaks their way Michigan can win this dual. For Iowa or Penn State, they will need to lose 3 or 4 "swing" matches that they are favored in. In a vacuum, Bartlett losing to Mattin, Van Ness losing to Lamer, Haines losing to Lewan, Facundo losing to Amine, Kerk losing to Parris are not overly surprising results. However, all of those losses occurring in the same dual seems very unlikely.

Agree with you. Just reminding the board of Jimmy's constant stupidity.  His schtick is old

Can Haines beat Lewan?  Gonna be interesting to see if Haines can find his offense against a positionally tough opponent that doesn’t take many chances..I see a 1 point win one way or another. Hoping I’m wrong and Haines puts it on him.

Hoping Haines gets his signature win of the year but I think Lewan scores on counters with those heavy hips.

Also sounds like something Chael Sonnen would say.

I don't walk around looking into cameras and telling people I'm the best fighter in the world just to hear myself talk. I say it for the same reason they put warnings on packages of cigarettes, and fighting Chael Sonnen may be hazardous to one's health.

For starters, he beat Lucas Byrd in his first college tournament as a true freshman.....

I believe Lucas Byrd is 1-3 against ranked opponents this year. I wouldn't use him as a barometer for being a finalist.

For me it is Jesse Mendez.

What in the world has you two entertaining the idea Jesse even has a chance against Vito, Fix, or RBY.  Heck, I'm not sure Mendez will make it past the blood round
