Can you just stop being a soft potato, or whatever it was that Beyonce said?

This is a wrestling forum.  Your weak constitution is showing.

Ok.  I ask a benign question,  I get an answer,  I then "like" the response,  and she goes into a blind rage.

Then,  you,  trying to capture the same attention as the rager, proceed to name call.

Why,  yes,  I do INDEED need to toughen up!

Ladies, Ladies.  There's a great tournament going on.  Let's focus on that.  Let's put the cat claws away

Agreed.  I hope I am completely off on this and when he moves to 133 he is a killer.  Just reminded me of Eric G. when he wrestled.  Athletic violent and strong.  College guys can figure that out pretty quickly.  Again, time will tell.

Great assessment.  The "strength gap" he enjoyed in high school will be minimized at the college level. He has solid technique. His success will come down to developing on strategy and yes learning on how to get out from bottom at the college level.

First off, I was talking about Jordan Burroughs....greatest ambassador should have been a clue.  Second, I had to Google Jimmy Lennon Jr.....I watched boxing growing up/back in the day, but not anymore.....watch some MMA,  and lastly, I do like Tony Romo's announcing, I think he does a great job....still think Jordan B. is the best thing that's happened to our sports since Gable, back in the day and longer.

I was talking Jordan Burroughs also.  And he does remind me of Tony Romo. His energy, enthusiasm, positive energy, likeability and they're both great at dissecting their respective sports

I think he is 20 if I remember correctly..... so their next NCAA champ could come in 2029 if he gets all of his shirts in order.

This is what gives me pause thinking he'll be the next great at Iowa

I think we'll just have to wait and see.

I'll bet you right now O'Toole doesn't win the Hodge.  Whatever you want I'll agree to it.  This is assuming Spencer doesn't return.  That would be unfair.

And why is it you think RBY, Brooks, and Starocci would go over O'Toole?

It's like the Heisman.  Rby is a senior.  On his way out.  Its his to lose  & he'll put up a lot of bonus points plus if he wins it he'll have a nice exclamation with doing it against either Fix or Arujua.  Both Starrocci and Brooks are going for their 3rd. O'Toole is only a sophmore.

Spencer could only wrestle a few matches the entire year, med forfeit out of Bigs, then wipe out the field during NCAA's and they'll give him the Hodge because it's his 4th.

Wait, who are you objecting to, O'Toole being over everyone other than a dominant Spencer Lee?

I'm talking about the Hodge.  Not who actually deserves to be rated as the best folkstyle wrestler.  My Hodge rankings are Spencer, RBY, Brooks, Starrocci, then O'Toole.

The committee has been giving weight to prior accomplishments, but again, RBY and Brooks have the same number of titles.  I don't think RBY's prior 8th place finish is going to vault him over a guy with more dominant results.  We'll see, I suppose.

Than how did Burroughs win a Hodge?  I don't believe he even placed at his first NCAA and went 3rd his sophomore year?

  9. 8 minutes ago, VakAttack said:

Disagree.  If Lee doesn't return, or is a shell of himself if he does, I would favor O'Toole...if he's undefeated.  After that I would go Brooks next. O'Toole is going to put up more bonus than everybody other than Lee, plus his weight is better.  Obviously predicated on O'Toole running the table.  Brooks has the same number of NCAA titles as RBY, and has separated himself more clearly from the field.  Not that I think anybody is beating RBY, but I'm talking about in individual matches.  After Brooks it would probably go RBY and then Starocci, though.

If you were responding to me about the Hodge than we'll have to disagree.  That's not how the committee's been voting.

Starocci and RBY can dominate people to the tune of 2-0/3-1 type victories, but their margin of victory ensures they cede in the discussion for the best collegiate folkstyle wrestler this season.

Which is interesting because I believe if Lee doesn't return than the Hodge is RBY's to lose.

If you're comparing P4P then not everyone can be an A. I would think a ranking system would look better for what you are asking.

Also, if Lee is a C on bottom then your criteria should put Kerk at an F- on top and bottom. Doesn't matter if he got the takedown or was taken down, he is always fully extended and stares at the ref with a befuddled look wondering why they are still in par terre instead of going back to feet. It's always a funny awkward face that makes me giggle when the lightbulb goes off that he's not in a freestyle match.

Aaron Brooks is the best Folkstyle wrestler this season

I believe Flo said they were going to use them in their rankings.  So if coaches are lazy and use their rankings, it will impact seeding

Correct but Flo rankings are still irrelevant to the college coaches

False. It’s just a crappy weight class and don’t @ me with that Amine bs

Lee, RBY, Yianni, AOC, off the top of my head. Brooks is a terminator but the best? NAHHHHH

  14. I like the idea of the All Star classic integrating women's wrestling during the event.  For next year I hope they condense it and only showcase marquee match ups.  There were a few matches on the men's side we could have lived without.
