I was always assuming he would redshirt his first season then if he didn't do as well in football as he thought he would, we would see him on the mat for four seasons.  If he did well we might not see him at all.

I still expect stoopid threads about it, though.

Even with a redshirt this year I don't know how that would work with the football coaching staff.  He's on a football scholarship.  Seems like this board, not particularly you, have this unrealistic perspective on his future wrestling career.  Unless, as you've pointed out, that he has no future in football.

Ahh Fly ... you are about to wager that there's zero chance not that he doesn't AA.  Sounds like bad bet (there's always a chance) and I'd hate to lose track of a good internet buddy again because he's gotta change his avatar.  😞

    Desanto at 133

    Jason Nolf at 157

    Vincenzo Joseph at 165

    Quentin Wright at 184

    Kurt Angle at HWT

Jimmy i hope you're trolling me because if not this is in my all time greatest Cinnabon fails!  Unless I missed the guys on your list wrestling this past season. Also it would be Jordan Oliver 133, Kolat 141 (not Bartlett), Retherford (149) not Sasso, Ruth, Herbert or Greg Jones 184, Wright would be 197  and Hesselrig at HWT for all-time

ChatGPT sports lists are about as good as that Twitter account that trolls the hell out of every CFB fanbase annually. Wrestling folks revolted (predictably Karen-like) when it was posted on twitter a few months ago. These discussions are fun, though. I had to correct Ben when he was calling out the D1 win streak leaders and skipped over Gray Simons, who had "NCAA/NAIA" in my screen shot.

The GOATS need not be forgotten because they competed in an era with dual affiliation and before NCAA divisions.

This is a list of the greatest college wrestlers....Burroughs lost wrestle offs at 141, wasnt named the starter at 149 til halfway through the year, went 4-4 in duals and 1-2 at ncaa's

You dont think jason nolf, zain retheford, bo nickal, alex derringer, ed ruth etc etc had better ncaa careers than jb?

This is not my fight.  Take it up with ChatGPT or the FloBros that posted it on their social media

Yeah, but Gable was included, and he was done over 50 years as well, so I assumed there was some bend there.

I helped chatpgt out.  It's been fixed.  I'll let the FloBros know. New top 10 last 50 years

    ChatGPT

You are correct, and I apologize for the error. Dan Gable's inclusion on the list is not accurate since his college wrestling career ended before the 50-year timeframe specified. Thank you for pointing that out. Here is an amended list of notable NCAA college wrestlers from the past 50 years:

    Cael Sanderson (Iowa State University)

    Kyle Dake (Cornell University)

    David Taylor (Penn State University)

    Pat Smith (Oklahoma State University)

    Mark Schultz (University of Oklahoma)

    Tom Brands (University of Iowa)

    Stephen Neal (Cal State Bakersfield)

    Jordan Burroughs (University of Nebraska)

    J'den Cox (University of Missouri)

    Anthony Robles (Arizona State University)

These wrestlers have achieved remarkable success in their college careers and have made significant contributions to the sport of wrestling.
