  1. This type of thing is subjective and organic. It might be better on paper, but in terms of juice and hype? Neither guy really has it. And I love KOT, my favorite non-Hawkeye in awhile.
  2. Personally I presume all high level athletes are using PEDs in some form.
  3. WrestleStat doesn't include the All-Star, but there's nothing precluding Hodge voters from considering it (and they should).
  4. So you want to redistribute out resources to the less fortunate? Interesting....
  5. Da comrade.
  6. Seems like there's a bigger population of socialists in the wrestling community than I would have guessed.
  7. This is really simple. Why isn't Wyatt Hendrickson getting buzz for the Hodge? We all saw him get shoved in a locker. Even if he avenges that loss, it happened, and is likely disqualifying, unless the other dominant guys eventually lose.
  8. From what we know publicly, that was an Askren special with the help of a producer. Pyles allegedly knew nothing about it, which I believe based on his reaction.
  9. No, but the teams are the superstars more than anything in our sport, so maybe it's better phrased that certain coaches get the benefits of an iffy whistle.
  10. Lol, no I don't watch college basketball.
  11. Like any sport, superstar calls are a thing. Iowa benefits, too.
  12. I agree. I'm fine with this outcome, since it encourages action.
  13. Meant to come back to this, because people were critiquing Arnold for only winning 8-6 against Liegel. 1. He's a true freshman 2. He's wrestling up a weight. 3. It's his second ranked win at 184 despite, again, not being a 184 lber. 4. It was only close because he was trying to get to a major.
  14. Ironic that PSU had mirror issues that Iowa did (a possible duck, and a guy using injury to avoid a TD) with much.lwss furor. As to the match, best guy on Penn State right now might be Haines. I've been thinking he's too big and that might catch up to him at NCAAs, but the way he's pouring it on late against good opponents....awesome, separating himself from the field. 125: Davis may be hitting a bit of a wall, or maybe he's just hitting tougher competition. Smith finished strong. 133: Van Dee got baited into a match strategy he should never have approached. 141: Bartlett looked good other than the injury situation. I don't love watching him wrestle, but he's damn good. 149: Lovett's lack of neutral offense almost bit him again. Dug deep though. 157: see above, Haines the man. Robb was dodging bullets, but they started hitting late. 165: Mesenbrink ok? 174: Starocci dominated 184: Truax's only TD was a counter, otherwise Pinto got his own TDs and stoned Truax effectively and impressively. 197: Brooks just on a different level, plus some regression from Alred. 285: Yeesh. Kerk the man to beat until proven otherwise.
  15. Great match, hopefully Caliendo learned something about dealing with Hamiti's unusual length. Hamiti is a ton of fun to watch, pretty unique.
  16. His arms are just so long.
  17. Man Hamiti is annoying to wrestle, lol.
  18. Sure. I would have awarded it. He was still losing.
  19. You could say this about the majority of college wrestling, even Penn State, unfortunately.
  20. He scored zero takedowns before or after this incident. You're acting like the match was over after this.
  21. Yeah, I would have been furious too. I think they should have awarded the TD, but the announcers said Rathjen told the ref he was hurt earlier. All that said, Zargo was the outscored the rest of the match.
  22. Lol. Even if they award Zargo the TD, he would still have been losing the match, and he never scored a TD again.
  23. There's only one person currently crying.
