  1. He got hurt in a match.
  2. If it's true, it's not far off what I heard was paid for one season for one of this past year's NCAA finalist. The athlete was not at Iowa or PSU. I heard the number from a coach on the athletes staff, so it seems pretty reputable. I'm trying not to out anybody since it's not my news, nor my role, so I'm purposely keeping it vague.
  3. Certainly possible.
  4. Yes, but back up about 100 miles!
  5. Unfortunate but fair description of Greeley. I cannot stress enough how much my trip to Greeley shook my faith in my belief that i knew what the rest of the country looked like.
  6. Oh, never mind, you're just here to hate and make logically inconsistent statements to get to a predetermined point. "Austin Desanto didn't develop at Iowa" is a wild hater take.
  7. This is a bad take, we've seen a drop off for what seems like every 6th/7th year guy throughout the NCAAs, even PSU with Max Dean. College wrestling is too tough on the body for that long of a period of time.
  8. Of their best transfer, most of them did their best work at Iowa. Caliendo, Woods, Desanto, Eierman, Lugo (just off the top of my head) all had their best finishes in black and gold.
  9. Mineo calling for Iowa and then hoping he goes somewhere else kind of gives away the game. I'd guess this another minnow set up to try to make Iowa look bad when he actually goes somewhere else.
  10. You can definitely see the mountains, but they're way in the distance. I went to Greeley for D2 nationals one year, and I'd never been to Colorado, so I didn't realize the...geographical layout. For anyone who's never been, it is exactly as The Duke insinuates; Colorado is basically flat everywhere except for that pesky mountain range. It looks like: /\ / \ / \ / \ / \ / \ _______________________________/______________________\______________________________________________________
  11. You're bringing up this year, but your team took 11th. You're bringing up the lack of a trophy this year without acknowledging that they lost multiple starters (including high point scorers) to a stupid (and illegal) gambling sting operation that only two schools in the country had to deal with. You're criticizing bringing in transfers while your team is actively recruiting transfers. You're just being disingenuous because you want to dunk on Iowa, but they literally outperformed your team (and it's two total team trophies). I have to grin and bear it from teams that beat Iowa, but not from the 11th place finisher who on a yearly basis underperform their seeds, no sir, not on my watch.
  12. LOL Missouri is literally recruiting transfers HARD right now as we speak. They were in on McGonagle (and lost out) and are currently in on Hendrickson.
  13. Still can't buy a trophy THIS YEAR, thank you very much. Pretty much every other year, though....hey when was the last time your team won a trophy? And how many in the history of your program?
  14. I'm very sorry that their attempts to recruit high-end transfers have so far failed. Maybe Hendrickson will change his mind?
  15. Unfortunately since @Wrestleknownothing is a PSU fan, I have to take his shittalk.
  16. Sure, but that's not what the pastry is doing. He's pretending that there is some rampant belief that Iowa is getting any or all of these guys into the room, thus when they don't come, it's now worthy of mockery. The only guy there is any sustained speculation about is Parco, and that's because actual news guys like Willie are mentioning it as a possibility. The other stuff is either the notoriously untrustworthy Minnow or just one guy making wild speculation.
  17. Mizzou took 11th.
  18. Any other Gilman vs. Minnesota videos you'd like to share? #Backpack
  19. He waved off the challenge because if he lost, he'd need a takedown to win as.opposed to a pushout.
  20. Also ours.
  21. I did not see it as the general consensus. I do agree that Jordan has his own history of line-pushing. Meh, we want fans to be passionate. People just sitting around clapping for winners is a boring environment (to me). Sports hate is one of the best parts of the experience, IMO. I don't think the idiot who screamed at Burroughs should be restrained from saying anything, but I do think he can be called out. He has a right to an opinion and I have a right to have an opinion about how he expresses his opinion. I understand what you're saying, and maybe in a perfect world that would be how we consumed sports, but it's not (again, for me.)
