Now I'll call your bluff. That is just not what happened, and I just went a rewatched it. The crowd freaked immediately because they thought a TD opportunity was taken from their guy. They quieted down in less than 3 seconds once it became clear he was hurt. They clapped when he got up and walked and was coming back onto the mat.
I think the presumption was Nelson at 174. I don't think Gabe was beating a healthy Nelson leading up to the year. But now, with him hurt? Yeah. And we'll just have to disagree about Kennedy. Take a look at Kennedy's entire career and tell me his best win. Probably Amine or Edmond Ruth, which are...fine. I think the lineup was set up to be Nelson and Gabe, and Kennedy likely on the bench.
He looked a little tired, and Nelson, for all his offensive deficiencies, has a physical hand fight.
Up to the coaches, obviously, but I'd send Brands to B1Gs
I agree, I would have hit him. He looked like he was doing some play-acting to keep the ref from calling him, but I thought he was clearly stalling the last 25 seconds.
They booed the ref blowing it dead when it looked like Caliendo might get a TD. There was no sign of immediate injury, not even Amine doing the whirlybird. The booing stopped quickly once he laid down, clearly injured.
