  1. I'm not concerned about the Gulf thing. Others just claimed he was trolling and not serious. I am concerned about the Greenland/Panama Canal things.
  2. https://www.foxnews.com/politics/beautiful-name-trump-announces-gulf-mexico-get-new-pro-america-revamp https://www.axios.com/2025/01/07/mtg-trump-gulf-of-mexico-america-bill Yeah, he's about to be President, we have no choice but to take his words seriously.
  3. Notable that the antiwar president did NOT rule out use of military force to..."acquire"...Greenland (and the Panama Canal). Also, the Greenlandic PM said, very clearly, that they are trying to become independent from Denmark, but that they are also not for sale to the US or anybody.
  4. Quick list off the top of my head of guys I loved and rooted for but also enjoyed watching (I Know, I know, Mike Evans...I drank the Kool Aid!) Brent Metcalf, Iowa Austin Desanto, Iowa Michael Chandler, Mizzou Chase Pami, Cal Poly Ben Askren, Mizzou Max Askren, Mizzou Dylan Ness, Minny Jayson Ness, Minny Mike Evans, Iowa Tony Ramos, Iowa Keegan O'Toole, Mizzou Spencer Lee, Iowa Tyrel Todd, Michigan Eric Grajales, Michigan Bryce Andonian, Va Tech Jayden Eierman, Mizzou/Iowa Jason Nolf, Penn State Ed Ruth, Penn State
  5. Man, it's sad what happened to the Christmas tournaments.
  6. As has already been pointed out, you're trying to change your claim now. Lee is definitively and definitionally closer to winning a gold medal, seeing as he actually wrestled in the gold medal match, and Brooks didn't.
  7. You are stating opinions as facts, and then just saying othes can't have opinions. Brooks can not have been closer to winning gold definitionally, since Lee made the final and Brooks did not. Brooks didn't even get to compete against Yazdani, and you're just presuming Brooks would have beaten him, whereas Spencer actually did beat everyone in his bracket except the gold medalist. Brooks didn't beat either guy that made the Finals.
  8. Speaking of fiction, you're living in a world where a bronze medal is closer to gold than a silver one.
  9. It's not my money! Let that man throw his...hard-earned...money at the program!
  10. Two things are true: Yianni is too precious about this stuff AND this situation is very different (from what we know) than the Vega situation.
  11. Hey, if we want to unify behind removing dark money and insane election finance laws, I'm here for it! #OverturnCitizensUnited
  12. I'm fine with his stance on immigration, though as I mentioned it shouldn't only apply to "high skilled" immigrants. My main complaint is that the current system is broken, to the point it typically takes a minimum of 10 years for a person to obtain citizenship, which is one of the main factors in the illegal border crossings, the byzantine nature of our system. Blue collar workers should have just as much access as "high skill" workers. Anyway, it wasn't me or people who think like me he was calling ***I am an idiot and can't use a better adjective***ed on Twitter (this time, anyway). It was the nationalist part of the MAGA movement who seemed surprised by Elon's take.
  13. If you had said 50 I wouldn't have taken the bet. I'm not a statistician, though.
  14. I'll take that action.
  15. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/12/26/congress-high-tech-immigrants-00196009 Even after a terrible election result, you have to take your joy where you can find it, and watching these tech billionaires immediately screw over the MAGA base (and Trump go with the billionaires....again) is hilarious. In the end, this is a good result for America, but it should not be limited to "highly skilled" immigrants. America was built on the back of immigrants, not just "white collar" immigrants, but blue collar/labor force as well. Fix the immigration system so it doesn't take 10+ years to gain citizenship, that will do far more to curb illegal immigration then the current catch and release system.
  16. The great Jordan Burroughs win his first title in a bracket with Gregor Gillespie and Jordan Leen (and future champ JP O'Connor). None of them met him in the finals where he faced Mike Poeta.
  17. Speaking of what I'm seeing with my eyes, the Cowboys (unfortunately) looked fantastic
  18. Just saying what I see in the screen.
  19. More empty seats than I would have thought.
  20. My read as well. May have all been a plan to get more money for himself, which is fine by me.
  21. If he's not wrestling this year, Okie State makes a bunch of sense. Unfortunately, this doesn't stop Ok State from still going after any of the big recruits coming down the pike.
  22. Eventually, by law of averages he'll be better than somebody in his weight range....probably. Or somebody will get hurt. And when it happens...
  23. How do you feel, because you had Smitty and Co. over there for the last 30 years and he was no shrinking violet.
