I'm not even arguing the politics of this. I'm aware many people don't want to send any funding or weapons to Ukraine. Demanding that another country's leader say thank you to your boss for meeting him (if that's the reason you think) is ridiculous, petulant, and beneath the dignity of the country. Even if you believe that Trump is justified in not doing anything for Ukraine, what the hell is he supposed to thank Trump for?
