That is actually a very good debate, I just went through weight by weight.  The only weight I saw with a clear separation was 165 with Lockett over Paddy.  Every other weight was fairly even.  So I would give a slight edge to Oakie St.

50/50 chance

Slight edge to tOSU.  In tournament scoring you need top 4 points in a weight class.  I give tOSU a slight edge in potential top 4 scorers.  My yet to be complete analytics shows that having 10 qualifiers does you no good if you don't have high level finishes.  In collecting data, I was surprised by how many really good wrestlers scored so few points at NCAAs.

Here are my initial thoughts. It doesn't quite pass the "eye" test--doesn't seem like either team should be able to score that high. Where do you think I got it wrong?

by the quick eye test, maybe that between them they will place 17 out of 20? that's a lot of AAs...

Buckeyes finish second.

Cowboys could easily be completely shut out of the podium 165 through 285. The strength of their lineup is centered around three freshmen. (I'm not including Lockett who has immense talent but could go 0-2 or make it to the finals.)

Could happen, those Okies are on the bubble.

I'm not sure "freshman" is a very useful term for competency. You might say a freshman is a bit untested, but between Vega, Jaxon Joy, PJ Duke, Lockett, Angelo Ferrari, Sinclair, Montanona, Mirasola, not to mention the INSANITY at 133, where freshmen might earn the top 5 spots, I don't think being a freshman is relevant to much.

Agree. These youngsters show no respect for their elders but they should not be crowned too early.

Redshirt freshman does not equal true freshman  (or hs senior??)
